So I live in an apartment with someone below me and super squeaky floors. I'm currently low on funds and can't afford good shoes or a gym membership. I have been going for long walks...in flip flops...in winter (at least it's the Pacific Northwest and not back home in Minnesota). That's been working pretty well but it doesn't raise my heart rate too much and you just can't jog in flip flops. I do have some better shoes (well at least better than flip flops) however they've given me severe heel blisters and that's why I'm wearing the flip flops, at least until the blisters heal.
I would like to do some cardio in my apartment but I don't want to piss off my neighbor below, which isn't too hard to do (he's a jerk). Do you guys have any ideas?
Light aerobics might be a good suggestion. I do the Leslie Sansone 1 & 2 mile workouts. They include things like walking in place or stretching, etc. However, I specifically chose that DVD, because of my fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. I'm limited in what exercises I can do and for how long. If you don't have those types of health issues then you might feel it isn't a hard enough workout for you.
ddp yoga, or carry on getting out and about as you are.
You can get a good workout doing a 'weights' circuit using very light home made weight and fast high volume reps. home made weights can be pain cans filled with sand. milk containers filled with water/stones. this is a great way to begin because you can make them the right weight to begin and then make them heavier by adding until they are full.
pushups crunches. squats. burpees/squat thrusts lunges. try and pick up an exercise bike off of the free ads or not sure if you have it there but here we have something called freecycle. its a site where people give away stuff they would normally throw out. you can sometimes get a bargain.
Sucks to have a jerk of a neighbor. Maybe get together with a friend and workout together- see if you can use their gym membership from time to time for a small fee or maybe go to their home and do dance/light cardio. Working out with a friend is great to hold yourself accountable as well.
...and maybe if your neighbor is out of shape...you guys can work out together? lol jk....
