I actually recently decided to try both the Flex and the Jawbone UP. There are some downsides to the Jawbone UP as you need to have a phone but their app does let you do a barcode scan of foods. Jawbone UP also doesn't have a web interface but their phone interface is pretty slick. I am actually using the Lose it! app which integrates both with the Flex and the UP and also does barcode scanning and has a web app. After trying both the Fitbit Flex and the Jawbone Up, I think I'm going with the Up and returning the Flex. I like the idea of a wrist band but some people don't. If not, I'd probably go with the Fitbit one. I had a Fitbit Ultra previously but mine fell apart one day after having it for a couple weeks. I got a replacement but never used it and it is still in the original packaging.

Snoofie... I was really curious about this problem too... So I sent FitBit an email and they just got back to me and unfortunately, they said at this time they don't support time zones that are off set by a half hour like this... They did say that they were talking with their production team about possibly adding this in the future, but they didn't give any time frame for when that might be... Sorry...

Actually I have been in contact with the Fitbit team and they...haven't said anything to me even remotely resembling that. I'm not sure whether to be pissed off or what. Because, like, if they can't do anything to fix it, fine, but just TELL me instead of having me try all this bullshit that's apparently not going to fix it anyway, you know?

Also, if they don't support time zones that are offset by odd timeframes, fine, but in my opinion, if they don't support a particular time zone, then guess what? That friggin' time zone shouldn't even be included in the drop down list! Why give people the idea that their time zone IS supported, when apparently it isn't? And it's not like my province is the only area on the planet with a time zone that has an "odd" offset.

To be honest, if I wasn't so in love with what the Fitbit actually does, I'd send it right back to them. Right now, it's not even the fact that my time zone isn't supported that's ticking me off the most -- it's the fact that they're jerking me around doing all these "fixes" (fixes, by the way, that I've already tried on my own before even contacting them) instead of just telling me, "Hey, sorry, but you live in a strange time zone and we don't support it yet....even though it's clearly an option in the drop down menu."

ARGH.

I've devised a "fix" of my own (sort of.) The thing that was really bothering me was that my One was displaying a time that was an hour *earlier* than what it actually IS in my timezone, and it bothered me that it was resetting itself a full hour later than it should have. So today I thought to myself, "OK, but what if I changed my time zone in my personal settings to one that would make my One reset EARLIER than it should?" And then I realized that there's a time zone that would allow me to have it so that my tracker resets not only early, but early by a mere 30 minutes -- Atlantic Time! So, while my One still displays the incorrect time, and still resets at the wrong time, it's not as big of a gap as it was before. And I'd rather have it reset earlier than later. So that's my "fix" for it...though I'm still majorly less than pleased that this was even an issue.

Have they got back to yet? Because even though they told me that they don't support time zones that are off set by a half hour... I think they meant that they don't support DST in those time zones... the reason I think this is because when DST ends won't the time be right on your FitBit? So whoever answered the question that I sent to them wasn't too bright as far as I'm concerned... I mean you would think this would be something that they know about... I'm so sorry you've had all this trouble with them...

Oh, and I don't know if this helps but the name of the person that sent me the email was Edson Gabriel of the FitBit Team...

No, they haven't gotten back to me yet today (for reference, the person who's been in contact with me is named Brenda.) Anyway, I see your point, yes. Once DST is over, the time on my tracker will be right (unless, of course, it suddenly decides to pick up on the DST settings and the time is STILL off...) But at this point I'm okay with the tracker being off by half an hour, as long as it's half an hour in the "right" direction. I just wanted my new day to start EARLY rather than late. *L*

It's just an odd issue, because you'd think they'd "support" all time zones where their products would potentially be used....

I loooooove my FitBit One! Instead of wearing it on my wrist or in my pocket, I clip it to the middle of my bra every day. It's easy to wear it there for work, at the gym, at home, and no one even knows I'm wearing it. I keep the little transmitter plugged into my work computer, so it syncs throughout the day, and I can check my steps on their website. It also links up to sites like LoseIt (the site I use to track my calories), so that's really convenient as well.

I find that the step count is accurate, and if I'm doing cardio at the gym, the calorie estimates it gives are fairly accurate (as compared to my HRM). It really helps keep me motivated to just move a little more.
