elvislover - I never had set days when I was doing c25K. At that time yoga was more important to me. Sometimes it would take me 8 or 9 days to get my 3 runs in (I was doing yoga every day and sometimes I just didn't have the energy). I don't think it hurt me much - but might have if I hadn't been active doing other things, too.

And C25K is not a race, it's an achievement, so never worry about how fast you run while you're doing the programme. You have plenty of time to worry about speed later. I am very slow.

If you are walking a lot already, I think you can manage the run. I started in August and I thought that 5 min of running was too much but now I run 40 min 3 times a week. I run slowly but who cares? I run. For 40 min.

For me personally, I need that day in between to recover. It was easy in the beginning when you're only running for 60 seconds but once you start running for 30 minutes straight, the toll on my knees isn't great. I live for the two days off that I get on the weekends. Mondays are my best runs.

I started yesterday and I survived!!! It wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be but I didn't go very fast or push myself too hard as I was a little nervous.

I walked at 3.0mph and ran (jogged?) at 3.8mph. Do you think that's ok?

I plan on doing every other day vs. 3 days a week as I am nervous to have 2 days off in row. I'd be doing my other exercise but I really want to try to get this running thing down slowly but surely. I feel like half the battle of the goal was to start so I'm all in at this point!!

I couldn't have done this without you all. Thank you for all of the helpful info on this thread.

PUPMOM5 - just wanted to chime in and let you know that my husband and I are planning to run the same 5k! Let me know if you want to check in with each other's 5k as we prepare for our race in the fall!
