Default running blisters - help?

I recently started running again after having a break from it for a while. I have always suffered from blisters on the arches of my feet which usually disappear after a few weeks of running, but recently I have been running 10K about 3 times a week and they have got really bad. One has a red ring around it which isnt really painful but it so uncomfortable and means I have to walk on the outside of my foot! Ive asked my nurse friend and she insists its not infected and it's just because I kept running on an already angry blister. Its doesnt hurt, unless I try to walk, and gets itchy occassionaly, which would imply its healing, but Im worried I wont be able to run again for ages!
Has anyone else experienced these kind of blisters?

Whenever I've gotten any blisters or hotspots from running I just slap on some moleskin's and I'm able to keeping training... they always do the trick for me...

Happy running!
