Key West Half Marathon = COMPLETE!!!

My girlfriend who I went w/ and I had a BLAST running it - GORGEOUS race - it was an out & back which I don't usually like but honestly, it didn't even bother me as it was mostly along the beaches. The two weeks off from training hurt me in the end - I started off with nine minute miles but hit a huge block at mile 8. My foot was still bothering me and it was sunny, 80 and HUMID - I had to start walking through all the water stations and I walked a bit at other times as well which I have never had to do before but the change in temps etc. really made things a bit tougher. My overall time was just under 2:05 so I was still happy - I finished in the top 1/3 overall! Key West was a TOTAL blast & the race was extremely well run I felt - could not have asked for better!

Did a 5-mile run this weekend (14-15 minute mile pace, seriously people, I am so slow) and a 3-mile run (13:30 pace! Woo!).

It's becoming gorgeous in this part of the country.

I did a 3 mile run on the treadmill yesterday (although it was pretty, there's a golf tournament going on in the area and I hate hate hate running with other people in my way). This is how hard core I am. I FORGOT MY SOCKS but I ran anyway. Yeah. Hard. Core.

I run a lot faster on the treadmill and I sweat a lot more. I wonder what that's about.

Just caught up with all of the January posts. I haven't wanted to visit the thread because I've been out with an injury since right before Christmas and I haven't really run since. I just started again last week, then we had a cold snap with subzero temperatures in the mornings when I run. Hopefully this week will bring a little bit warmer temps.

I've been doing tons of crosstraining, including some strength training via boot camp class and once a week with a personal trainer, and 1-2x per week of indoor cycling. I was going to run a marathon at the end of April but I've gotten so far behind that I think I'll do a half. It's a trail marathon, so my goal would be to duplicate the time that I got on pavement last fall.

Just tried running with yaktrax. They're not too bad.

Ran 6.2 today on my favorite 10k route,it was overcast and foggy, pretty cool for the high dessert. It was in the 40's but humanity was 74% which is really rare for here felt like a Western Washington day...love hearing what everyone is up to

Deva - I'm running the Phoenix half on march 2nd and I CAN'T WAIT to do some DRY heat running lol.

Eight miles on Sat. in the 25 degree cold and my foot got wet so I didn't feel the last 4 miles lol.

1.5 miles sprinting during my circuit workout last night.

I'm back!

I bit the bullet and ran 8 miles yesterday outside - it was 8 degrees and sunny when I left my house. Biggest problem is since I wear Vibrams, my feet were FREEZING. They then warmed up, but when I got home, they burned like FIRE for about 30 minutes - not pleasant!

Calling for a heat wave this week, I can't wait!

I ran this weekend on the treadmill because it was cold and raining and I am a wuss.

I missed my usual lunch run today because a friend was visiting from out of town. I have to figure out how to get it one in. We have friends coming tonight for dinner and it's too cold to run with the wee babe after work with the stroller (she has a cough right now). HMmmmmm.
