 Glad to 'hear' from you :) Bunneh, sorry to hear that you're going through a rough patch.

Don't be shy to speak with your doctor; I had an issue that I was dissatisfied with. I spoke bluntly, and my concerns were addressed. Fatigue/depression/wt jump...thyroid issues? (just a thought) Sending good vibes your way....

Plexi, not until I weighed and measured my foods and also started logging online did I realize how much junk and carb heavy my food intake was. I like using online programs like sparkpeople or myfitnesspal because they have a large database and you can track macros like carbs/protein/fat/sodium, etc. You also must be honest about every morsel you consume. Those little cheats add up too. Also, if you are not eating enough and exercising too much then your body is holding onto what it has for survival. The same goes if you are eating too little or not enough nutrients.

gabi, the biggest jump I've taken into bikini land was a tankini. That's the only two piece I've ever worn.

bunneh, so glad to hear from you! The problem I have with doctors is when they think they can cover every ailment. There are specialists for a reason. I'm thinking seeing an endocrinologist to check a variety of symptoms would be beneficial.

exhale, It's getting hot again....ugh!! I was out today briefly to pick up some berries, salad stuff, etc. Will that eggplant be mushy in the slow cooker? I've never eaten eggplant.

I was up at 7am to get my laundry done and beat the hallway heat in my apartment building. It was 70 degrees when I went to bed at around midnight so I knew today would be quite warm. My back was getting better, but I think I irritated it with carrying groceries and my new workout bench from the post office to my car. Thankfully, my brother was here when I got home and he carried it from my car to the apartment. And today was laundry. Even though I didn't think I was carrying too much I think my back was not happy. I'm just ate lunch and relaxing now.

Have a great Saturday everybody!

Hope you feel better, Bunneh. :(

Well I did it, first time in probably 10 years wearing a bikini to a public beach/pool. O_O I still have some work to do but I pulled it off. :) Today was a good day!

See everyone tomorrow night.

Happy Sunday!

I'm surprised I'm the first to post. Guess everyone is having a super busy day. My mom applied this ointment to my back last night and omg...its all better today. One of the ingredients is epsom salt so I knew it would help. There's not even a lingering pull that I had been feeling even though it was getting better as the sharp initial pain lessened into the lingering pull. Ok, that might not have sounded right.

I did Cathe's Basic Step this morning on the lowest step height. If you remember I did not exercise for the most part last week, but I did go on walks during my work day. I payed a lot of attention to my diet and lost 2lbs this week. My lean body mass increased as my fat percentage decreased which is ideal for weight lose. It is very worthwhile while on a weight loss/fat loss program to have a scale with the ability to measure your fat percentage because you could easily be losing muscle and still lose weight.

Have a great day!

Hi. Got an early start today....
Philly, glad you're feeling better & congrats on your progress:carrot:
I walked all over the City today, ate well. It's amazing how much easier it actually is keeping to a food plan without the take-out. I do still go out a couple of times a week for a scoped out bagel and coffee, but the rest is home cooking. I eat, and I'm done. I make sure to have some fresh fruit with a couple of Tbs of 2% cottage cheese every day, salad/veggies, and then whatever my main dish is going to be.
Have a good evening...

Oh, I forgot...the eggplant. The eggplant came out great. Next time, though I'll use less tomato because it was a bit on the watery side. But I just took it out with a slotted spoon. Today's left-overs were dryer after re-heating. Eggplant is one of my favorites; unfortunately the 'good' stuff is fried to death, and eggplant is one of those things that is like a sponge for oil. So my version was no oil, just the eggplant sliced kinda thin, a can of chopped tomatoes and a can of tomato paste, and fresh basil. Once on the plate I added a bit of low-fat mozzarella. So good...

I ate kind of bad this weekend but didn't go overboard too much. TOM is getting ready to arrive and I am STARVING.

L2RI30 done. :carrot:

Goodnight!

I like your avitar - are those Amer. Eskimos?

Must admit that the recipes are basically simple. For the first, I used thin-sliced turkey breast, a can of mushroom soup with some veggie broth, a package of sliced mushrooms. That cooked a bit and then I added a handful of lentils and some whole wheat pasta. I think the herbs were dried parsley, and garam masala. Since the meat was thinly sliced, it cooked up quickly on 'high'. For the second, I line a casserole dish with drained black beans, sliced up a couple of sweet peppers - red, yellow, and orange, and topped that with a boneless chicken breast that I deeply scored. On top of that went some Prego sauce and, again, the veggie broth so the bottom won't burn. Spices were paprika & cayenne pepper. When the chicken was done, I turned it over and topped a bit more sauce + drizzle of shaved mozzarella. My oven's on the fritz, so I can't really tell you the temp :dizzy:

Yes they are American Eskimo puppies--"eskies" for short. The pic is of two puppies we had years ago (& they're sitting on my rebounder).

Thanks for the recipes. I will be trying them as they sound yummy & healthy too.

I have managed to exercise five days out of 6 this week. Rebounding, walking, body-flex, and dancing on the rebounder. I was watching PBS Saturday night & they aired a 2 hr. concert of music of the 60's with many original artists performing. With such great music, I couldn't remain seated so danced & jumped to the music--a great workout!

When shopping at Walmart, I noticed they had the 2 Jillian workouts that everyone is talking about. Are they really that intense? I thought about buying one, but decided to pass. I have the feeling that I wouldn't be able to handle them.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. Will try to check in more often. This week was busy, busy, busy!

Morning all!

Eskielover, those pups are cute :) Sounds like you're doing great! Tell me about your rebounder.......

Hope everyone is having a great day. Keep OP and think of how happy we'll be at the end of the week.

Stay strong and happy.

I appear to have some kind of stomach bug, which could explain why my fatigue symptoms worsened last week. (Plus my weight has shot up FIVE pounds. :( ) I managed to get some yoga in yesterday. I don't know what I'm going to have the energy for today since I hardly slept at all but I will try for at least yoga again, or maybe some pilates.

Exhale15 06-11-2012 03:23 PM

Feel better soon, Bunneh:coffee::getwell:

novangel 06-11-2012 05:51 PM

Hope you get better soon, Bunneh.

Eskie, unless you have medical limitations there's no reason why you couldn't handle Jillian. Don't be too quick to sell yourself short. ;) It is really hard at first but the pay off is well worth it.

Ok, enough yapping time to get moving!

TheBunneh 06-11-2012 09:16 PM

Thanks guys. I managed to get about 20 minutes of movement in, hoping for more tomorrow. Right now I'm going to get in bed early and hopefully fall right asleep.

novangel 06-11-2012 10:18 PM

L2 RI30 done. Nighty night.

PhillyGirl2012 06-12-2012 10:01 AM

Happy Tuesday!

bunneh, yuck to the stomach bug. Feel better soon.

We are having a rainy day today and thankfully it started after I got to work. I did my weight workout last night. It was a total body workout, but didn't work the legs like I wanted with focused inner/outer thigh work so I will need to add another workout to my schedule to cover that. I did the weight section from cathe friedrich Cardio & Weights dvd. I dissected it on the computer and removed the cardio portions and made a custom dvd with just the weight portions. I was thinking I would do this dvd for a month, but I think I will shorten that to two weeks and pick a different weight workout that's a little more advanced. Look at me thinking about my progression...I'm scared...lol!

Nutrition has been on point so far. I'm supposed to attend my nephews graduation tomorrow and my sister is having a small gathering at her house which means CAKE. Thankfully I don't care for bakery cakes. That's weird right? It just tastes mass produced to me and I always remove most of the buttercream frosting. Don't care for that either. So as I'm writing it dawns on me that I should be ok. :D I'm just going to try to remember how it could possibly effect my results for sunday's weigh in and try to resist the cake and other goodies.

I hope everyone has a great day and to take Exhale's phrase....stay op!
