I found a copy of Jillian's 30DS in my closet :o
It looks like 'fun', and you guys rave about it. I think I'll try it this weekend. I don't know whether I could do the same thing every day; maybe alternate that with something else. What I did today (it's not exercise) was eat a lot of veggies. And I made a soup out of broccoli and cauliflower - I had a bag of it and didn't want it to go bad as usual. So in it went with some veggie broth into my slow-cooker and I 'steamed' it until it got past stinky to 'hmmm smells OK' . Then it went in the blender with a tsp of farina and 2 tsp whipped butter, with some onion garlic powder. Not Bad. Very mild, very smooth and fluffy. If I'm hungry later I have some cold chicken in the fridge.
I think this slow-cooker is the answer to my prayers for eating better :cp:

I registered for a Pilates class tomorrow to get me back on track with the exercise...

I LOVED 30DS! Good luck with it, Exhale. ;) I'm off to do RI30 :carrot:

BTW this is my 6th day in a row for exercise. I'm on a winning streak this month and plan to keep it that way...hopefully.

novangel 06-08-2012 12:18 AM

RI30 done. Gonna try for tomorrow night also to make it 7 days in a row and then break Saturday.

Goodnight.

Exhale15 06-08-2012 09:19 AM

:carrot: Novangel !

Good morning all :coffee2: Seems my food focus is paying off, and I've made great strides with eating more healthy. Not starving by any means, but cutting out all the junk extras, excess oil, etc. Much better to poach and then add a bit of fat to the finished dish than to cook in fat. And no take-out all week !
Later today is Pilates; going to see if I can now incorporate daily exercise - as long as the eating stays in check.

Happy Friday :)

Anyone other than me have those days that no matter what you just ALWAYS feel hungry and miserable? :(

Exhale15 06-08-2012 02:33 PM

Not in a long time Plexi,
What have you been eating in a typical day?

Thought I was all cool and fitter with Zumba and gym, but got a Pilates beat-down today :stars: It was a basic class, but I have't practiced for a while and I'm feeling it now. Gotta keep the balance . . . :dancer:

Here's to a gorgeous weekend...

PhillyGirl2012 06-08-2012 03:00 PM

Plexi, nope...I just eat when I'm hungry. You should not be hungry. How many calories are you eating?

exhale, Lmao @ 30ds being in your closet. Was it there hidden to never be found again? Just kidding! Umm, be careful with the broccoli. I poisoned myself with it a couple of years ago. It was still crispy so I used it. Turns out, after a point it turns into a flower. I had bad hives for a week. Worst reaction I've ever had and I was miserable. Of course you know I just toss it now after just a few days. It took me a whole year to eat broccoli again. OMG, since cleaning up my diet and eating whole foods I've been so full. Unless I miss a meal there's really no room for junk food. Weigh in day for my team challenge is sunday so I'll let you know the results.

Gabi, how does ri30 compare to 30ds? I know you said glorified, but is it a step up, better, harder, different moves?

Exhale15 06-08-2012 03:08 PM

Philly, you have to know that my first thought on finding 30DS was Oh #$%# of all things ! Thanks for the heads up on the broccoli.

In full agreement re the 'clean eating'. Such a sense of peace....nice.

PhillyGirl2012 06-08-2012 03:52 PM

LOL...I just noticed you changed your avatar. I was staring at the flower animate and thought who's avatar is this cause the name wasn't fully on the screen.

Plexi, I was very hungry today since TOM is getting ready to arrive otherwise the rest of the month I am ok.

Philly, so far RI30 seems more focused on variations of strength/core training and not as much jumping around as 30DS. My heart is still racing all the way through RI30 so it's definitely providing cardio at the same time (bonus, killing 2 birds) but my shins take less of a beating. It's possible the jumping around will increase in the weeks to come. I can't say one is "harder" than the other yet, both seem brutal in their own way. I'm curious to see if I get more defined results by July. I certainly hope so!

Off to take my nightly beating. 7 nights in a row! That's a record for me I think.

novangel 06-08-2012 07:46 PM

Oh, and of course tomorrow is going to be my first time wearing a bikini again in 80 years and I'm going to have TOM bloat. Awesome timing. :/

Plexi 06-08-2012 10:16 PM

I usually try to eat about 1300 calories a day. I think Im gonna start journaling my food again to make sure Im not accidentally starving myself and eatting less than I actually think I am.

novangel 06-09-2012 01:00 AM

Most people on here seem to vary between 1,200 and 1,800 calories a day depending on the amount/type of exercise they do. I tend to average around 1,300 - 1,500 calories....or try to the best I can.

Ok, exercise 7 days in a row goal completed! Tomorrow is rest day and then Sunday night on to the next level.

Goodnight, ladies. :)

Exhale15 06-09-2012 09:32 AM

Morning all, overcast Saturday here :coffee: Had grand ideas of a day trip somewhere, but think I'll continue my organizational push to tidy up my closets, cook some eggplant in the slow cooker, and get in my exercise. Have to focus on building some more muscle and losing this extra fAt.

Novangel, not bad for an 80 y.o. ;) You've inspired me to see how many days of exercise I can string together.

Plexi, maybe your mix of protein/carb/fat needs a tweak?

Philly, hope your back is better today.

See ya later...

Hey guys - I'm still around, just having an awful week. I'm almost to the point of asking my Dr. to prescribe another antidepressant even though the last one I was on for a year didn't do anything. I'm desperate to try something to let me feel better. :( I don't really think depression is my problem though, and I don't want to mix new meds with my anticonvulsant if I don't have to. I was so relieved when I tapered off Celexa cause I was always uneasy taking it with my epilepsy medication, especially when it didn't make one iota of difference with my fatigue. I know I need to push for my doc to figure out other avenues to explore, but I'm so shy and I don't know what tests to ask for anyway.

My weight took a huge jump up too, for no apparent reason. :?:

Bleh. Sorry for the downer post. I guess I needed to vent a bit. I'm doing what exercise I can, and hopefully next week will be better.

I hope you guys have an awesome weekend.
