To the OP, I'll share a story my husband once told me: When he was a kid, he really wanted some particular type of pen knife. One of his classmates had one & was willing to sell it to him. My husband wanted to buy it, but all his close friends told him that the price was too high and that he would be getting ripped off. Not wanting to appear foolish in front of his friends, he didn't get it. Later, another classmate asked him if he had bought it, and my husband said no & explained that all his friends said the price was too high. The little boy said to him, "So? If it was worth it to
you, you should have bought it." My husband said he has always remembered that lesson & it is one that I always think about too when I'm weighing what others tell me is or isn't "worth it" vs. my feelings about the item.
If joining two gyms is worth it to you, who cares what anyone else thinks?
