  • I've just been to my first Zumba class. It was as good as I expected!
I hate exercise and I have no motivation to do it whatsoever. If I have a fitness DVD I'll just press 'stop' and leave it after the first sign of sweating. But once I was in there, I was in there for an hour! THe dance moves kept changing, as did the music, and it didn't seem repetitive or boring like most exercise routines are. And it got me sweating. LOADS. But it didn't get me out of breath, so I didn't feel like I had to stop. I know it will have done me lots of good and I can't wait for next week! It's just a shame they only do one class a week.
  • Buttercup-thank you very much for sharing your list! I started making my own and just did about 10 mins. My goodness it gets you pumping!
I've heard about Zumba from my friends, but never have the money to go to a class. Thank you for sharing the idea of youtube! Gotta love the interwebs!!

I'm glad you had fun at your first class!! Tommorrow will be my second! I can't wait!!! I know that it doesn't feel like a workout at all, until the next morning! lol
it stinks that you only have one class a week!! The place I go has a class Mon,Tues,Wed,Thurs and Sat...
    I Love it!
I Have opted to start going Tuesday and Thursdays!
  • I love Zumba, too, and have had a lot of fun searching for routines on youtube! I have been to 4 different zumba classes around my town and am amazed at the difference between pricing (between $2 and $9/class).

I have set aside some money to pay for my classes and I will supplement with my youtube playlist. Thanks for sharing your playlist! Can't wait to check it out.

I love to be able to pick my songs on youtube!
  • Finally got back into a zumba/dance studio yesterday! It was $5 to drop-in, then $20 extra for unlimited classes through July (total $25). It was a killer deal and the women were all nice (my first time there, probably my first time stepping into a actual class in over a year). I was probably the youngest one and the workout didn't seem that hard (yet- since I'm still learning the moves, not yet throwing myself into them). I'll be able to do more of the steps and burn more calories/sweat more (from doing the moves fully) by this time next week. I'll be going Mon-Thur, 5:30-6:30pm. Hope everyone's enjoying their zumba!!

Saw this and wanted to share:

*edit* We did a routine to "Mambo #5".. I've never seen it before, but it was fun.. it'll be kinda cute once everyone gets it down. Found a similar routine on youtube so y'all could see it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd3doYkrZhc
  • I'm planning to take my first Zumba class tonight. I should have found this thread and looked at the You Tube videos first I suppose but what's the worse that can happen? I'll get confused and be out of breath. I get out of breath on the elliptical so this will be something different. But I love to dance and used to take classes as a young'n.

Wish me luck! Maybe I'll check out some youtube videos on my lunch break today to see what I'm getting myself into.
  • Is anyone doing Zumba on a WII Fit? Just wondering if there are any advantages of using a WII Fit versus just a dvd?

  • Does anyone notice if you look up Zumba reviews online, most of the poor reviews are from people trying to sell other weightloss or exercise programs? lol
