Default Exercising after eating

Hola everyone! This morning I went spinning, and I ate breakfast about an hour before that. So I'm starting the class, and then after a while I started to notice that I felt the food from this morning still in my stomach and it made me feel so nauseous ! I always hear people say that they eat before going to the gym and they are fine, but I will never do that again! Next time I'll just eat half a banana or something!

Now tell me beautiful ladies... Do you eat before a work out?

Kudos for working out in the morning! I just CANNOT drag myself out of bed early enough to get any decent exercise in before work lol. And I second the question I have been very sporadic about working out but have committed myself to 3x a week, one week at a time. I plan on stopping at the gym immediately after work, so was thinking about drinking a protein shake about 1.5h before leaving the office - so about 2h before my workout. I figure it's something in my tummy at least, and I won't feel heavy or sluggish from having eaten something solid...but any dos or don'ts would be appreciated!

I know different things work for different people, but no way I could eat anything before working out. I work out right before dinner 5-5.5 hours since I've eaten lunch. It works great for me, plus working out - especially cardio - seems to suppress my appetite so I eat less at dinner. Win-win!

I don't think I could eat a real breakfast before I work out in the AM either!! Two hours before my class, I have 4 oz. of no fat yogurt and a small fruit - mini banana, clementine, handful of grapes, etc. After class, I have two boiled eggs and 1/3 c FF SF pumpkin 'pudding'. This seems to hold me well until lunch.

I have done both, but prefer not to eat, basically because my stomach is not ready to eat at 4:40 in the morning. I'm not a breakfast person, so putting it off is just fine with me!

When I have eaten a banana or apple first, I notice I kind of burp it up while spinning. Yum. Sometimes I do ok with it, sometimes I don't. I've tried yogurt too, but though I love yogurt later in the day, I gag on it early in the morning.

I'd definitely go with something light- a banana with maybe a bit of pb sounds good to me

I just can't do it! I work out first thing in the AM after dropping my DD off at school. The only thing on my stomach at that time is 1/2 cup of OJ and I drink lots of water while exercising. I also have to wait at least 45 minutes or so to eat after I get home and shower.

I can't eat before working out either! I find the food completely just sits in my stomach and will continue to sit, until I get sick enough to throw it up. Not to mention at 5am, I'm not hungry either. I'll shower after my workout and eat after that.

At most half a serving (1//4 c dry) of oatmeal an hour before I run. I prefer just coffee.

I have a hard-and-fast 90 minute rule - I wait at least 90 minutes after eating before working out. I started doing that over ten years ago and in the past few years I've tested myself by breaking it and every time I go under 90 minutes I feel nauseated. That means I don't eat before my morning workouts. I have heard that's not optimal but there's just no way around it for me, especially because I enjoy working out at the start of my day.
