Yay! I'm joining the YMCA! It has great gyms and awesome workout classes! Anyone else a member of their local YMCA?

I have a y membership. I think I get the best workouts at the y classes. I seem to workout harder when others are around. What classes are you going to take?

Yes, I was, until they took away my favorite Y from their "reciprocal Y's" list. I got spoiled by a HUGE Y in a neighboring town and then they wouldn't let me go there anymore and my own Y was a dump.

The really cool one had gigantic outdoor swimming pool complete with lap lanes where you were only allowed to swim laps. Awesome! Also an indoor pool for kids with a water slide. There was a full indoor running track overlooking neat things, great child care, a tween area, a refreshment area, a kid's gym and wonderful classes, all free. I loved it.

Now I'm at LA Fitness and though I like it, it's really all I need, it's not family friendly. I wish I could take my kids there and swim laps.

I am a member of the Y in my town, but have yet to get up the nerve to take a class. I'm told that the spin class is very good, but I'm scared I won't be able to keep up.
