Still getting our 1/2 blocks in...this dog is ready to run!!!!! It's all I can do to keep her from playing in the yard with her sister.
TDIPRINCESS it is this weekend my step-d is coming for the wedding...hope the weather is still looking good for her and your backpacking! Angie would so love to do that, we have done a little trail walking in the past....finding the time is tough for us with her bell choir practice for church and yoga on Saturdays and our church on Sunday...although we do go Saturday night sometimes. Be good |
Monday and Tuesday I walked a mile each day. Wednesday I walked 3 and today I walked 2. A total of 7 this week so far.
219.85/700 So far it is looking like sunny and warm during the days for the weekend. Make sure she brings some warm pj's and a sweater though. The night time is quite chilly right now. It starts out cold in the morning, warms up to 70 by 1-3pm and then cools down again. By sundown, you're grabbing sweaters. I'm really excited to go backpacking! I know what you mean about being busy with everything in general! We also are quite active in our church. This Sunday we will end up missing while we're backpacking. We will get to reflect on God's beautiful creation though. But, most weekends are packed with volunteering Saturday morning, Sunday service and then we sometimes volunteer a bit in the afternoon for an hour or 2. The week is filled with work, volunteering and another service. The key we find is a self-disciplined schedule. Take care, I probably won't check in until Monday! I hope you step-d has a good wedding. Kinda ironic, my cousin is a wedding planner and has a wedding this weekend. Wonder if it's the same one LOL. Be good as well! |
TDIPRINCESS wouldn't that be funny if it was the same wedding? She flew out last night from here, Angie dropped her off at the airport around 9 so she is already there this Friday morning. I will talk to her on Wednesday after she returns to get more details of where the wedding was. It is for a friend of her BF's, I really don't know anything about it...what's new?...lol
Have a great week-end backpacking! |
EZ: That would be pretty ironic! LOL. I hope the wedding went well and that she enjoyed the trip. The weather was supposed to be pretty decent over the weekend.
I was 5 hours away in the catskills hiking all weekend. We had an awesome trip! It was quite beautiful out there! Our bodies are quite sore as well LOL. We walked a total of 15miles. 234.85/700 |
TDIPRINCESS so gald you had a great week-end hiking with your husband and friends...awesome. I did talk to my step-d for a short time yesterday about getting her at the airport, didn't talk about the wedding but I guess it was in Rochester.
Reba is up to 3/4 of a block now which we did over the week-end but a touch of the flu has had me down since then. Feeling better today...maybe we can get out this afternoon. Be good |
The weather was perfect for a 3/4 block walk this morning at 6:30....
in the 70's...gonna be a hot one today. Feeling much better as my flu flies away... Have fun |
OK TDIPRINCESS...ha! The wedding was in Buffalo...she flew into Rochester. She said all went well, the wedding was at a small church outside of Buffalo then the reception was at a big place called Samuel's "something"...daughter said 3 wedding receptions were going on at the same time but they didn't interfere with each other.
|
Ez: It was probably Samuel's Grand Manor. It's a pretty nice place for a wedding. My cousin had his reception there last year.
Monday I walked 1, Tuesday I walked 2 and yesterday I walked 4.5. I'm not done yet today. So far this week: 7.5 down! 242.35/700 |
Keep going TDIPRINCESS!
We got our 3/4 block in today and will see the vet tomorrow afternoon...keeping fingers crossed that she is released for longer distances! Be good |
Well Reba had her 60 day check up. Vet still wants her to stay at 3/4 of a block at least until next week-end. Reason, he wants her totally off pain medication....she was on a very low dose every other day.
He did say she was doing very good though and that in maybe 2 weeks we can unleash her to the back yard. Also, and this is great for us, we can now "escort" her up and down the stairs....no running up/down them! This way we can bring her up when we have dinner and the GRANDbaby/family over.... she is very needy of attention!...lol Walk/Backpack ON! |
Adding 2 more 3/4 blocks from the week-end.....
|
Great work EZ despite the limitations! Glad to hear she's getting better though!
Thursday I ended up with 5miles, Friday I walked 1mile, over the weekend was 1, Monday was 5, yesterday was 2 and today was 4. That =18miles! 260.35 of 700! |
Great job TDIPRINCESS...
Still getting the 3/4 blocks in but so much easier on us to be able to allow her to walk up the stairs....she is feeling so good now she just wants to run and play with her 'sister"... I think I get more exercise trying to stop that!! Have a great week-end! |
Well we were given the ok yesterday to up Reba's exercise to 1 mile, then watch her and if she does well then increase as we feel she's ready for. I did a mile with her and Rylee this morning....
oh wait, she does that anyway! ha Looking forward to getting back on routine here, slowly but surely! She seems to be walking ok but is napping most of the time.... |
Reba and Rylee are still getting their mile in every day. I take them most days for that after work or before.
They are really looking forward to getting back to those Starbucks and beach walks... they really...REALLY are! And so is their "mommy" and me...lol |
Just got back from a mile walk around the neighborhood....carried granddaughter while Angie walked the mutts....
so glad granddaughter only weighs 18 pounds! |
Hello there! It's been a while! I'm glad to hear that your dogs are getting back to normal!! YAY!!
I've started the c25k program a couple weeks ago. I'm on week 3. 3 days a week I get in about 4 miles, the rest of the days I get about 2-3miles usually. Sometimes less, usually on the weekends! I believe I've gotten in about 25miles since I last posted! Time has really flown by!!! 285.35 of 700 miles |
Now that is OUTSTANDING!! TDIPRINCESS
|
Well thank you EZ! :D
Yesterday I got in 5 miles. 290.35/700 |
TDIPRINCESS i hope you are still getting some miles in as we head toward year's end.
I am still getting some miles in each week as I take the dogs for their walks. Although we still can't go much more than a mile with Reba, it feels good to get out almost daily with them. She is progressing well but then finds ways to hurt herself...usually playing with Rylee...and then we have to be EZ for a few days...a work in progress. Be good...keep those miles coming! |
Bumping this up for my own accountability.
Reba is up to 1.5 miles a day now, unless we see her struggling with it, then we take a day off for rest. Not sure if she will be able to ever get back to 3 miles a day or not. But for now, it's sure nice to be able to "pretend' we are back to normal with the walks Angie and I enjoy so much. |
I haven't updated here in forever!
I'm trying to hit 1500 by 12/31... |
Just wanted to pop in, I'm ashamed to say I didn't follow the thread over the year, but did commit to running 1000 miles. Hit it this weekend and I'm super excited to have kept my commitment. Congrats and good luck everyone!
|
Way to go ncuneo!
|
Great job to all!
I ended up with about 400 miles. Less than I have been getting each of the last 4 years but, with my one dog not being able to go because of her injury, I think over all it was a "fair" year. Certainly not one to brag about. I am sure I could have done plenty of miles without her! Good luck to all of you in 2012! |
Just popping in to say I got to goal too. I got to 1009/1000 which is kind of sad as I was at almost 1000 the beginning of december and this past month was almost a wash for me with exercise. I should have been around 1100 if I had kept it up!
Not doing the 1000 mile challenge this next year, but I am committing to exercising 250 hours. |
