What can I do with this 6lb weight?!?!?

  • Okay b4 I jump out the window and start doing more than I can handle I wanted to work with things I already have so I was inquiring what type of arm exercises can I do with a 6lb weight?

I am 5'9 female and just wanna start toning my arms nothing drastic nothing that will eventually make me bulk...

Or is the 6lbs to light or to heavy just so input would be great.

    Thanks all!
  • What kind of weight is it? A dumbbell, I'm assuming.
Light or heavy in a weight is relative to what you can lift. Could be too light ot could be too heavy depending on your current level of fitness.

I would start with the basics: bicep curls, tricep kickbacks, military/overhead press, bent over rows.

You can check out some books from the library or check around online for exercise demonstrations if you don't know what the exercises are.

    Good luck
  • I agree, a 6 lb weight is relative to your fitness level... If you can do more than 12 reps it's too light, time to move up... for some exercises, such as the kick backs, it may be too heavy because you don't need a lot of weight to work out the triceps... Just experiment...

This site has some great workouts...
  • Being able to increase the weight over time will show you are building muscles, and that is what will give you smaller arms.

Women don't bulk up unless they are taking something to help them do so.
  • Hmmm I wonder if it's too light is there some test I can do to tell me I wonder???

From 1 to 10 I would put myself at a 2 I haven't truly worked out or attempted to work out in a lil over 3 yrs disgusting I know :/
