Default Running in the rain

The weather forecast is for rain & thunderstorms all day tomorrow in my area (Philadelphia). Tomorrow is my scheduled running day so I wanted to ask for advice on rain running.

I have this cheap polyester running shirt that I never wear, but since it wicks water, I thought I'd use it. I also have a baseball cap to wear. But what about my iPod & ear buds. Will I short them out if I use them in the rain.

Any advice or words of encouragement would be helpful. I'm such a wimp and need you all to push me out the door.

You probably shouldn't use your ipod in the rain. It will probably get ruined unless you have a waterproof case for it. You might want to reconsider running outdoors w/ thunderstorms, though. Any chance a treadmill would do for tomorrow?

I wouldnt run in a thunderstorm, at least not a close one, but I run in rain all the time. Baseball cap is good to keep the rain out of your face. Once you are wet it is usually quite pleasant. I cant help you on the ipod thing since I have never worn one. I would also say if you are running on roads make sure whatever you wear is bright or light as dark clothes can be hard for drivers to see.

After the run if your shoes are really wet, remove the insoles and stuff the shoes with newspaper. Change the newspaper again before you go to sleep and the shoes should be dry by morning.
