Hi ladies!
Happy - I'm glad you're back! Travelling is always nice but there's definitely no place like home, eh?! I have been so busy and haven't had a lot of free time myself. Actually the only free time I do have is after I've finished working out and I'm just chillin until I either get in the shower or start another activity. I'm sure you can relate as you seem to be a very career oriented woman and on the go all the time! I may not be on the go because of my career but you get the idea.....
Meanbuji - where are you? I hope you fixed the parameters on your pc to hit you up when there's mail. I don't even bother with that stuff cause by the time I make it back, I already know there's gonna be tons. However, if I'm coming back to this thread, story may be different.......it has been so quiet lately!

Please check in when you can- I know it can be discouraging when you're looking for people to talk to and no one's responded. Please keep the faith that I (and I won't speak for anyone else) will be back! Even if that means that I'm talking just to good ol' me - lol!
Susan - as for the back pain, Happy's right. The more you focus the muscles and tighten them, the less pain (strain) you will have. I have never had any back problems while doing pilates (knock, knock), so I can't really relate too well to your situation; but I can suggest putting a mat underneath a blanket and rolling on that to cushion your spine. I'm only doing the workouts at home so that is an at-home option. Maybe you could bring in a fold-up mat and use it in addition to the one provided at the gym? Good luck and I hope everything works out!
Rose - as far as the machine over the videos is concerned, I can't answer cause I've never used a machine specificly for pilates. Actually, I've only heard about pilates within the last few months and just kinda jumped on the bandwagon. I bought a few videos and have been doing them at home. I have definitely noticed that my core is stronger and I'm looking better and fitting into clothes better, and I think pilates has helped. I know that my stomach wouldn't be as strong without it and I couldn't do other stomach excercises as well without it either so I'd say it's worth trying as long as you're committed to really focusing on each exercise.
Ok, blah, blah, blah. Kinda long winded here. I really should run. I have just recently moved up to the acclerated pilates tape and whoooo boy, is it kicking my a#&@!! They make you position your body in ways I haven't tried since I was a kid! I thought my abs were pretty strong until I tried this tape - it really works the lower abs (which is where I'm weakest!) I'm bound and determined to conquer this one though, so I'll keep ya posted! Take care and hope to hear from more of you soon!
