Default Question about jog

Well I always admire the people who pass by my house jogging.

Since I can remember i can not even jog for 1 min whit out been almost dead. So i know that jog for me I was going to be super hard. But was something that I will love to be able to do.

But... since 6 weeks ago I star jog / marching in place thinking that I will be stronger for the spring ( suppose star trying to jog Doing the 5k to couch).

Well I went out side warm for about 5 min and star to jog I did for 3 min and then 1.30 walking during 30 min. I was like " I can not believe I just did that".
The best part was ,I was ok , I knew inside me that I can do better than that .
So I went outside 3 days after ,warn for about 5 min and star jogging for 14 min. straight , 2 day later I did for 14 min then walk 3 (because I have to stop at the bank ) I then another 14 min.

I fell really confident about I have been doing it for a week 4 times exactly.

So my question is Should I go back and star the 5k or just keep building my routine ( I think that my jog / walk in place help me and that is why I am able to do it now.) but I do not want to rush. So what is you opinion.

Thanks for reading

Jessica.

Jessica - personal question ... do you smoke??
If not, you can do it! If you can run 14 minutes .... you can do the C25K.
I think you can do the C25K for sure, but don't push yourself too hard. If you don't think you can, just TRY it first, but slowly. Don't try to run a mile the 1st week lol

You'll be surprised how far you can run once you learn how to pace yourself. For me, the most important thing was to NOT GO TOO FAST in the beginning & breath as normal as possible. You want to work on distance rather than speed right?? You work on speed after you have built up milage. I did the C25K some years ago & that is what taught me how to run further, easier & more efficient.

Edited to add: if you feel like you can't do it now ... keep doing what you are doing for another week or so, then try again & see how you feel.

I see no reason to go back to the beginning of the C25K if you have already built up to 14/3/14. C25K is a good place to start, but it isnt the only way. I say what you are doing is working for you, just keep on keeping on, build as you feel comfortable

If you really want to follow a schedule, scan down the C25K program until you find where it looks like about the level you are already at and start there. I think you will find if you start at week 1 that it is too easy for you.

My suggestion was going to be to start the c25k at the spot where you think you're at... good luck, you're doing great

I agree with ennay and Ilene. Have a look at the C25K and jump in somewhere in the middle if you want to.

Or you can just keep doing what you are doing - sounds like it's working for you. Jogging for 14 minutes continuously is no small thing! Well done.
