Talking So where was my confetti?

I ran the full 5K this morning on the treadmill! I jumped into the C25K program in week four. Saturday I ran the dreaded 20 minutes and had to slow down half way through. I decided at that point that running at a slower speed really wasn't that bad and I wondered if I could run a 5K.

So today...I tried. After a full 30 minute run (all that is required of the program after all), I walked for three minutes. Then I was back at it and I completed the full 5K with just that three minute walk toward the end.

It took me about 44 minutes, but I ran the full 5K!

And you know what? There was no confetti. I was counting down the last km's to my friend beside me. At .01 I said, "Watch my screen! Watch my screen!" And do you know what it said? "Cool down." LOL! I was expecting "You did it!" or "finished", or, gosh darn it, confetti!!

So sorry the stupid treadmill was faulty today, here are your well deserved cheers and confetti, albeit belated
I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling when I ran 5k for the first time, it was amazing, and each time I shave a few seconds off my pb or I manage to run further or longer I get that feeling again.

There. Feel better now?

Sometimes we just have to carry our big accomplishments around quietly inside us & sort of privately glow because of what we've done, as we're the only ones who really understand how much they mean.

Bask in it for a while. And if I know you -- as much as one can, over the Internet -- it will be a 10K before the end of the year.
