Loving me~ Sounds painful! I agree with ubergirl though and thing you should probably give your body time to heal.

Uber and oodles~Great job on the 20 minutes!!! You'll be running the 30 in no time!! You should both be very proud.

I didn't really get a chance to run today. My boys wanted to go with me so I ran around the block twice with them. We ran a total of .63 miles which doesn't seem like alot BUT my boys are 4 and 7! I was so proud of them! I'm ready to hit the road tomorrow though. I'm aiming for the full 30 minutes. Can't wait...

Zephyr-- running with your boys sounds fun! You are setting such a good example for them.

tonight I was so stoked from yesterday's 20 minute run that I did week 5 day 1 (the 3 five minute runs...) at the track. I think I fun a lot faster on the track than on the treadmill.

I DID IT! I DID IT!! I DID IT!!! I ran 30min straight!!! @ 4.5mph which totaled2.25miles!! WAAAHOOOO!!! I was supposed to start wk. 8, but at 28 min, I didn't want to stop...imagine that! lol ... but I liked the song playing in my ear so I kept goin!!! and let me tell you what...AN MP3 PLAYER MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!! the DVD player helped somewhat last week for the 25min runs, but today, I didn't even look at the time til I was almost 20min in! I'm sooo glad I traded my nintendo DS for an iPod Touch!! Not only do I get to listen to music, but I also get to have the LoseIt app. where I can track calories AND my exercise!!!

Now here's a question for ya'll: my treadmill said I burned 384cal the entire 40min I was on there...I had entered my weight also...how accurate do you think this is?!?!?!?!?!?!

zephyr--running outdoors in northeast PA...WOW...I woulda thought you guys still had 10ft of snow on the ground!! LoL how warm was it today??

lovingme & ubergirl--good job running outdoors...I'm afraid to run outdoors (or anywhere off the treadmill for that matter) bc I'm afraid I'll run too fast and not be able to finish...YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!

OH, and BTW, the new Brooks are FANTASTIC!!! (wow, can you tell I'm kinda going crazy right now...maybe this is what it feels like to have a "runner's high" HAHAHA never thought I'd feel this way!!!) Since I'm skipping wk 8, looks like I'll finish C25K in exactly 9wks if I get my 2 other 30min runs in this week....I just can't believe this!

Well done Krista on the 30min run, that's amazing!

I'm going to the gym shortly. I'm not as sore today as I was but still tender, so just going to see how it goes, will use the Week 5 podcast again and decide when I get started what I feel up to doing.

Well done Krista, you're so close now!

W5D1 today for me - I had a head down bum up day in front of the computer at work with no let-up, and during the train ride home I was itching to get out and run. How funny! Said hello to hubby when I got home and told him I had to go for a run - he took one look at me and said "yes you do". I'm not sure what that meant...

But I feel so much better now that I have. Although it's rained here (tropical summer storms) for the last 2 weeks, so the humidity's still about 80%. Not pleasant, and I'm dripping with sweat! Yuck. Still, the dams have gone from 73% full to 95% in two weeks, so there's plenty of water around now.

You girls are all doing so well! You inspire me.

lol..thankfully we don't have any snow left on the ground, at least where I'm at. It was in the 60's yesterday. So nice out!! Brandon, my oldest, asked me this morning if he can go running with me again tonight. How can I say no, especially when I need to run tonight anyway. So I'm going to take him again and see how he will do with 3/4 of a mile. I may work him up a little at a time and see how much I can get out of him. He loves to run around and has wanted to do other litlte runs that the school does so I know he can run shorter distances.

WTG~ KDM on the 30 minutes!!! You're doing great! I would imagine the calories are pretty close to what you would have burned while running. Althugh, I have heard that you ony lose 100 calories per mile...I'm not sure how accurate that is though.

KDM-- congratulations on the 30 minutes! That's just awesome. And running at 4.5 is a good clip. I completely agree about the music. I've noticed that I really need the rights tracks playing when I get tired. And there are a few songs that automatically pump my adrenaline.

Primm, I know what you mean about getting antsy. I'm a nighttime exerciser-- I don't go to the gym until 8 or 8:30 at night. I'm usually super antsy and looking forward to it by then. Haven't tried running in heat and humidity yet. That must be a whole nother challenge.

Zephyr-- how the heck is it that you have no snow and 60 degree weather in NE PA while here in SE PA we still have quite a bit of snow??? It HAS been nice, and it IS melting, but it will take a while.

I haven't tried running outside yet. I have noticed that I'm consistently a lot less tired when I run on my treadmill than on the indoor track. I *think* it's because I run faster-- also maybe because it's a small track so you have to constantly turn.

Uber~ We just lucked out that the snow from the first storm and pretty much melted before the second one a few weeks ago and we didn't even get it that bad that time. And now with the really nice temps it's all melted! I'm just hoping this is it for this year! You got hit harder I think then we did, right?

I think you'll enjoy running outside when you get a chance to try it. It's totally different than the treamill!

I LOVE being outside-- but it's hilly where I live and no shoulders on the road... I'm trying to figure out a good spot to try it-- I want relatively flat and not too much traffic.

Well, ladies....

I just completed W6D1. I did treadmill tonight. It was an absolute piece of cake. For the first time EVER I just felt like I could keep going indefinitely. And this in spite of the fact that I ran last night and the night before.

I think I had some kind of breakthrough. Woot.

Way to go uber! How very exciting. I feel like it's actually getting easier as the runs get longer - I find running longer continuously far easier than starting up again after a walk break.

I think I've been getting carried away with myself and pushing too hard.
After running for 20mins solid last Friday and then the events of the weekend I was SO sore yesterday.
I've been thinking about the C25K and it seemed weird that after doing 20mins solid we'd go back to doing intervals, so yesterday when I went to the gym I decided to try to keep going as long as I could instead of doing W6D1. Well, I managed 15mins solid but it was SO hard, I had a break for a walk, did another 1min which was painful, walked a bit more then did another 3mins.
I really struggled and was annoyed with myself because I didn't get any endorphin rush and everytime I landed on my right foot the huge bruise on my hip and thigh from my fall hurt even more, so I think it was probably a bad move.
So on Thursday I'm going to go back and do W6D1 properly with the intervals and see if that makes it any easier. After all, the C25K is a success so who am I to try to change it lol.
Yesterday and today I can't believe I did the 20mins last week, it seems like a dream, I just hope I can get myself back on top form and be ready for the 25min run at the end of Week 6.

Lovingme~ Enjoy the intervals for one last week. Before you know it you'll be running continously!! Still sore from your fall or do you think that you just irritated the bruises? Hope your feeling in tip top shape agian soon!!

I wanted to run last night but only had 30 minutes to fit one in so I decided to go out and get a short one in. I had a certain street that I wanted to run to before I came back. I got to that street than figured I'd go to the next one....well 3 streets later I decided I HAD to head home not that I wanted to!! I got home and expected it to be really close to me having to run out the door to a friends house. Nope...I managed to run 1.3 miles in 15 minutes!! I know that I could have kept going too and can't wait to get back out there and push myself to see how far I can go.

Uber~ Do you live out in the country? Is there a place in town you can run? My parents live in a college down and there is a road down by the river that everybody runs/walks/rollerblades on.

Loving me... I COMPLETELY hear you about getting carried away. But you definitely need to watch it. I skipped my rest day after the 20 minute run and then last night, I took my swim stuff to the gym but couldn't resist running instead. I've promised myself that tonight is a swim night.

Primm...what week are you on? I'm not sure if I think the intervals are easier or harder....for me, it mostly seems to depend on the day. Some days it's so easy and other days I just feel like I'm going to die from the get-go.

I'm SO GLAD I took this up, because the scale has been kind of stalled, so it gives me something else to think about-- and I feel TERRIFIC.

I started W5 on Monday and when I saw there was a 20 min on W5D3 I got really nervous. 20 mins straight sounds so daunting! I got through W5D1 easier than I thought I would and I'm doing W5D2 today. It seems like a 20 min run got here faster than I thought it would. Did anyone else feel that way as well?
