I even considered not going to the gym at all today I was so annoyed and having a sulk.
Anyway, I think the anger actually did me a lot of good, because I did the whole 20min run without stopping!!!! The first 10 mins were quite easy but each minute got harder after that, and the last 3 were a real struggle, but I did it and I'm so proud of myself.
I'm really happy that I managed to turn a huge disappointment on the scale into a success at the gym, and I proved to myself even if the numbers aren't co-operating I can still improve my fitness and hopefully tone my body some more.
So anyone who doesn't think they can do 20min in one go, I recommend getting very angry and it will be a breeze lol.
Loving Me!! Give yourself a pat on the back! You are CRANKING through C25k!!!!!!!

I'm not sure what to do-- I should do the 20 minute run today, but I had a KILLER workout with my PT yesterday and am really sore.... But I won't be able to run at all over the weekend-- (12/hr workdays, + commute) which would mean I'd have to delay until Monday-- so I did my last run Tues, swam Weds, PT thurs (I ran for about 5 minutes) so... run sore today? or wait until Mon. Or I could repeat an easier day. Not sure.

wiginn - Good for you for getting back into it! I had a couple of weeks that I didn't do any runs...due to weather and sickness. It was so hard to get back up and start running again! I still have those runs that are harder than others. Like just last night, I did a 30 min run and had to stop a couple of times because my legs just felt like they were going to give out. You will get back into the swing of things and be back on track in no time! You're so close to being done!

Must have been off-plan day today. I did a 5k that was a fundraiser for the hospital I work at. Schedule was W4D3, but I did that instead. And ran (continuously without stopping, thankyouverymuch) the first 12 minutes! Very happy with that. Makes me more confident about doing the rest of the program now.

sounds like everyone is doing super! i completed W7 earlier this week and plan to start W8 on Monday...I would really like to have this program completed by St. Patty's day, which will have me completing in 10wks instead of 9...I CAN DO THIS!!! lol

I finally broke down and bought a good pair of running shoes...Brooks Adrenaline GTS 10...I'm a tightwad, so it was really hard for me, but I used my birthday money so it didn't kill me! lol I used them yesterday on my workout video here at the house and can't wait to run in them on Monday!!! i'm hoping they'll solve me foot pain that i get in my Rt. foot...i've been using an arch wrap to help it, but can hopefully stop using it now! we'll see!!

You guys keep up the good work...WE CAN ALL DO THIS!! This program really DOES WORK!! I never thought I'd run for 10min straight, let alone 30!!! THANKS TO THE COOL RUNNING GUYS!!!

WTG!!!! Sounds like you're doing awesome!!

KDM~ Great job on finishing week 7! Your almost there.

Well..I ran yesterday morning.....with my dog. That was more difficult than I thought it would be because he's just a pup and hasn't been outside for walks much yet since it's been winter. I feel like I could have done 30 minutes though. I've decided that since it's staying light longer in the evening I'm not running on the treadmill anymore unless its rainy outside.

So today is my 20 minute jog... and I'm abnormally scared to go do it. I had trouble with the 2 8 minutes. I completed them, but at the end of the 8 I was dying. I've been putting the run off. I was going to do it yesterday but said "Oh I feel sick"

I'll get it done, I know I can do it, so I don't know where this is coming from!

WOO HOO!

I did it!!!! I almost can't believe it lol. I've NEVER BEEN ABLE TO RUN THAT LONG!

EVER.

Not even in elementary, middle, or high school. Lord knows I tried. But the longest I've been able to go before now is maybe 2 minutes of jogging. WOW! I'm pumped and ready to do this. =D

Go Natalie!!!!!

I know exactly how you feel, because I JUST DID IT TOO!!!!!!

I just worked back to back twelve hour shifts, yesterday and today (with a one hour commute each way...) came home, hopped on the treadmills, and RAN FOR 20 minutes!

For the last couple of minutes, I pumped it to a higher speed-- and I threw in an extra minute for good measure.

After feeling like I almost died the first time I did the two 8 minute runs, this seemed like a piece of cake. I really, honestly, and truly can't believe it.

I am just on cloud 9!!! I don't know what made me decide to do it tonight when I was already tired... but I knew right away it was going to be fine...

But I ran reeeeeaaaaaallllly slow!

Still, I agree. We're RUNNERS! Wow! Two weeks ago, I thought 5 minutes was beyond me. It's crazy how fast it picks up!

Well done Uber! I knew you could do it, there is no stopping you now.

I've had a weird weekend, we went away in our camper and went on a long walk on Saturday, which ended up with me having a bad fall. I am badly bruised on my back and down one side but feeling extremely sore.
Yesterday however I was determined to try to run outside for the first time as I knew it would be my only chance for a while, and I thought it might help me loosen up a bit after the fall. Running outside is NOTHING like the treadmill I learned At first the cold air made me wheeze, and I realised I was trying to run much faster than I do on the treadmill so kept running out of breath. In the end I just kept running for a couple of mins or so and then walking til I got my breath back, and then running again. In all I ran/walked for roughly 4.5k and was pleased with myself considering everything.
I've been to my step class today and am really sore, more today than yesterday, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow. I should be starting Week 6 I think which is 5 and 8 min runs. I think I will just have to see how I feel in the morning and take it as it comes. Right now I feel like I couldn't run more than 5 mins I ache so bad, but hopefully by tomorrow and once I get warmed up I'll be ok.

I'm wondering if you shouldn't give yourself a day or two of rest. That fall sounds pretty bad.

It's awesome that you ran outside. I've noticed, for me, that when I run on the indoor track, I get much more tired than on the treadmill.... I don't know if it's because of all the turning, or because I don't regulate my speed as well....

I got really sore from a PT session on Thurs, I didn't know if I should run through the pain or rest, but I decided to rest, and then yesterday I was in top form.
