It's helped me in both these ways. It also can be a great workout! Some styles are more active than others, but you can certainly gain a lot of muscle strength from even the slower-paced classes. I use yoga for my strength training. But it's helped with mental strength too. It's also helped me have a better relationship with my body and with food. I love it!

I'm loving this thread, I'll have to stop by a class here locally or pick up a Dvd as the benefits and uses some people are mentioning are things I need to work on exercise wise.
