I started walking on my treadmill yesterday and only did 5 minutes, today I did 10. I have a knee 'issue' I'm working on with my Dr. so I am careful to stop when the knee says 'no more'. I figure anything is better than nothing at this point and I will only do better in time--especially once we find out exactly is wrong with my knee!
I would suggest Netflix, if you have it or are able to get it. They have workout DVDs, and if you use it regularly it is a whole lot cheaper than buying different DVDs you don't know you'll like.
That's what I do when I can't exercise outside - I alternate between real movies and workout DVDs.
just keep at it and do what you can...it'll get easier as you go on and as you start developing your body again (all those bits of you that you thought you used but didn't really)
It will hurt. Jillian can make grown men cry but she knows her stuff.
