This is my all time favorite treadmill song! I put it on when I'm starting to run out of gas in my last 5 minutes of running.

This thread just makes me smile SO much. Music is the BEST motivator when you're excercising, I love it! This also reminds me that I need to head into iTunes and make myself a workout playlist... I put my whole library on shuffle the last couple of nights and there's just too many songs that don't do the trick!

Glory, I'm gonna add almost everything from your list to my MP3! Awesome songs!

(Yah, I know this thread is oldish, but I was searching for posts with song suggestions... )

My very favorite band for workout songs is Mindless Self Indulgence, at least so long as you don't mind obscenity. Sort of an electrical sound and a really strong beat, and generally a pretty good pace for jogging.

My favorite MSI songs:
Never Wanted to Dance
Shut Me Up
Stupid MF
B*****s (well, the uncensored version of that title)

On a much cleaner note, Peacemaker by Sonata Arctica also has a really good slow jogging pace and strong beat, as well as a pretty epic guitar solo which always distracts me from the jogging pain.

As far as bouncy, peppy songs I'm a fan of 500 Miles by The Proclaimers as well as some Mika songs- favorites being:

Grace Kelly
Billy Brown
Lollipop
Love Today

Rochester: Thanks for dredging this up. I love music threads. I'm always looking for new things to add to my workout playlist.

Wow. I posted in here over a year ago! I can actually add some suggestions though:

Harder to Breathe - Maroon 5
Can't Stop - Maroon 5
Shut Up - Simple Plan (Love thinking about anyone that may doubt my ability to reach my goals when this one comes on... )
Suddenly I See - KT Tunstal
Lucky (Short Stuff Remix) - Lucky Twice
Any of Mika's upbeat songs

Gotta love music...

Being a child of the 80's, all my workout songs are 80's tunes! I'm a dork, what can I say!
Some of my favorites are:

Footloose (Gets me moving even if I'm not working out!)
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Hey Mickey
We Got The Beat
Our Lips Are Sealed
Lets Hear It For The Boy

Totally dorky, but it works for me!

I like this thread, even if its old LOL. Good songs never die I am not "up" on music so I have a hard time finding songs sometimes. They have to have a cerain beat to get me going. Threads like this are helpful. I just check out the songs on youtube to see if I can get into them I don't have my play list handy but a few of my favorites are:

Lady Gaga: bad romance, poker face
Lots of Black Eyed Peas including, I got a feeling, Im A Be, My Humps
Sweet Child Of Mine
Salt n Peppa: Push It, Shoop
Eminem: Just Lose It, Lose Yourself
Miley Cyrus: The Climb (good cool down, motivational)

I listen to Beatles radio on Pandora (actually 'Love Me Do Radio' 'cos I found just plain "Beatles" is too wide a spectrum for what they throw out).... I walk for my exercise, and I only have to skip a few slow ones...

I'm a little schizophrenic in my music tastes, but here is my current jogging playlist (songs are around 4 minutes each):

Cold Play: Viva la Vida
Paul Simon: Late in the Evening
Beyonce: Crazy in Love
Michael Franti & Spearhead: I Say Hey (I love you)
Outkast: Hey Ya
Eric Hutchinson: Rock & Roll
Mary J. Blige: Family Affair

I was thinking I should add a little Gloria Gaynor (I Will Survive), TobyMac (Get Back Up), and Brandon Heath (Wait and See). Inspirational lyrics!!

Great thread! I'm definitely updating my IPod tonight .

Now I feel much older then I am! I prefer Swing/Big Band music for moving. I find it impossible to sit still with The Andrew Sisters playing (so I play this when I need to do housework too!).
