Talking The HILLS

My boyfriend and I have been walking for the past month and DO NOT like the path we have been taking because it is too many hills and it makes me miserable and I dont enjoy my walk.

My boyfriend tells me that I should keep walking the hills because it is good for me.

However, I "know thyself" and I know I will stop walking if I dont like it.

Any advice?

I'm not understanding what advice you're looking for.

Either suck it up and keep going (and yes, it will get easier) or change your route.

What is I am asking is Am i right to change my route because I dont like it? or am I just being lazy?

I was always under the impression that one should like the exercise they are doing.

Maybe I'm coming from a place of no...no?

It's only a hill---get over it!

Just joking---I love that saying though. Hills rock! But if you'll use hills as a reason to stop exercising, then change your course.

Lazy. As it gets easier, you will like it, but when it comes to getting fit you can make it fun... but a lot of it is just sucking it up and dealing with it until your body gets the necessary muscles and stamina. An attitude change, even if it is a little bit of an effort of first, will help a lot. Its hard for me to get out of the house, but for my work out partner and I- I'm the positive speaker. No negativity. That is what I recommend.

Say more-

I love hills. I can do this. This will be a piece of cake. My butt will love me later. I can conquer this. Its just a hill and my heart is bigger. It can become an analogy for weight loss. Putting it on? That is definitely down hill. But getting it off? Its an up hill battle that you are totally equipped to take on and win.

Depends. Are you walking long enough, consistently enough and fast enough to do yourself any good? It's hard to imagine consistently walking those hills for a month and they're not getting easier. If something about the inclines aggravates an injury, that's different.

And consider this - the hills are great for the bum!
