Hi ladies,

Well my exercise schedule seemed easy enough when I posted it but yeasterday was the first workout I've done in almost a week.

I found a good article in Walking Magazine with 4 Steps to a Lasting Commitment to Exercise. It's too bad they didn't feature it at there website but I'll try to paraphrase. First the article groups people into 4 different segments of society: I think I (you too?) fall into the category called Actives - actively trying to make exercise a part of life but haven't built a successful program. This group considers exercise fun, but not a prority. Work, travel, child care, and the weather sometimes undermines our good intentions. So what's there advice? Start a streak. Track the number of days in a row you exercise for at least 20 minutes. When you've done, start over and try for 10 in a row, and so on.

That sounds good to me. So what do you say can we all commit to the first step. 5 days of atleast 20 minutes of exercise?

Jenni -

I forgot to mention that I think the daily journal sounds like a good idea. I keep my nutritional journal at www.dietwatch.com and I just out www.justwalk.com yesterday for there exercise journals (not just walking there though )

And I have the same probelem with iffy scales. My scale at home says 160, my last visit to the doctor said 174(fully clothed). But the doctors scale had a note on it telling the nurses to quit recalibrating the scale themselves. So I have no idea. But as long as the numbers keep going in the right direction on each scale I'll ultimately be satisfied.

Hey Ladies! I've been soooo busy but I thought I'd check in. I've only exercised a couple of times this week but my new job has me on my feet 8-10 hours a night. I guess the good thing about that is I've managed to lose 7 lbs just by running my butt off at work and really watching what I've been eating. I'm usually a total sugar junkie and I've really managed to cut back. Salt too! I just never realised how much and how quickly things could change if I just cut out the sugar, even on my cereal. I feel good!I figured out that 2 days a week I can use the treadmill at school for 35-40 min.So the goal for the week is to do cardio Monday and thursday at school and tuesday/wednesday at home nothing friday/saturday and sunday hit the gym. Also keep up the good work on the diet..

One thing I found that I do that is bad is eat cereal, Dry cereal. This is sooo bad because I eat it like potato chips. SO I am getting rid of what is left.

Other than the cereal I have had this week I am doing fantastic with my eating. It is a really great feeling.

My food journal is great. I have found a trend, already. I have drastically cut back on my eating and on Saturday I ate enough for 2 days. None of it was bad junk food but my goodness I had a lot of food that day. So I need to start watching my weekend food intake. I struggled with water on Sunday (only drank 18 oz) but some is better than none.

I have not used the treadmill in over a week, which is very disappointing. Once I stopped it messed me up now I don't want to do it in the morning. I guess I am back to forcing myself.

I did do an advanced abs tape this morning and did some exercises on my total gym. Other than that my exercise has been bad.

Tomorrow is a new day.hopefully it will be even better.

Mony - any progress toward 154lbs??

Genlinn - 7lbs lost that is great what weight does that put you at now?

Well gotta get studying for my test!!

Hi Jenni,

Well I'm slowly creeping towards 154. It looks like I've lost about a pound a week since the New Year. That puts me right on schedule to meet goal by Valentines Day but I wouldn't mid a little cushion.

My eating has been very good this week. Staying near 1200 calories a day and about 3L of water. I even managed to sneek in a few of my favorite binge-trigger foods (fresh bread, cake). I did great with those, sticking to one or two servings and not going on a ballistic binge.

Exercise has been good. I'm up to a 5 day streak. But I really don't feel like it today. I feel tight and exhausted. But I feel like exercise is really the key to keeping myself OP. It seems to regulate my whole day - food and mood-wise. I'm tempted to take a peak at the scale but I'll hold off until weigh-in day because I can be somewhat of a scale-aholic.

Keep pushing guys!

Hey ladies!!

How is it going?

I am doing really good. I treated myself last weekend, not a lot though, because I have done so good.

I am back on track with exercising. I reintroduced myself one exercise at a time. I am back on the treadmill as of tomorrow.

Let me know how you are doing toward your goals!!

Hey guys! I've been out of the loop here for what seems like a long time. I've been working out pretty consistantly and now I'm going to be doing some schedule shifting to try to get in my cardio 1st thing in the morning. I've got to stop staying up so late, and feeling tired in the morning. I've also found something to help me feel I'm still on track on those days when I do have to miss a workout. Before I get ready for bed I do 30 crunches 20 squats with no weight and I try to do 10 pushups. I know this isn't going to bring in the big results but it does help me stay motivated and I'm beging to wonder if it might help me sleep better.
Last time I weighed myself was when I had lost 7 and that put me @ 156. My clothes are fitting me better(some are even loose) and I'll be weighing in again this weekend so I'll post and let you guys know how I'm progressing. I really hope you guys are doing well.
Goal for the rest of the week: Cardio and weights Friday and Sunday and I want to go swimming on sunday too.

Hey ladies. I worked out yesterday and boy am I sore. I did drop sets for my legs and I swear I must have hit every muscle in my thighs because they hurt like heck today. I also weighed in, good good news. Between husseling my buns at work, getting to work out alittle more, and really watching what I eat I've managed to ditch 14lbs that puts me at 149. I couldn't believe it so I made the girl next to me weigh herself too, and she said it was right. I feel so good! I know that the rest of the weight will come off and that it's going to take a stronger commitment to exercise. It likely won't come off as easily as the first few lbs. but it will go. I'll update my goals as sson as I have a new workout plan. See Ya later. Goood Luck.

Genlinn -- Congrats!! I wish I had major losses to report! 149 that is a dream weight to me right now. Keep at it.

I am still doing good. I haven't weighed in a while, I need to tomorrow so I can re-traumatize myself. I have been working out. I have 2 tests next week that are really demanding my time so yesterday and today I have done poorly with exercise. I have been really working my abs and man are they coming together! Since I missed yesterday and today, I will go home and do 2 sets of my abs to get caught up.

I am going to join the YMCA in my area this weekend, and my mother in law is joining with me so we can do aerobics together. Tomorrow I will get back on my treadmill. I have found that walking and studying together really works.

Well, not to go on too long here. I am so happy for you. You will be ready for bikini season by April at this rate. I hope I catch up with you!!

Mony -- How are you doing!!

Hi guys,

I got a new scale - and a more accurate idea of my distance from goal. That was kind of depressing but I'm still moving in the right direction.

I just finished up a streak of 10 days of exercise (averaging about 32minutes per day) I felt good resting on Monday...I felt lazy taking yesterday off...and If I don't get back on track and exercise today I think I'll really be on my way to setting a non-exercising pattern. That's a no-no. So I hope I get it done tonight.

Glad to see you both are doing good.

Hey girls!!

Well I joined the YMCA!! I am not going to start until Thursday though. My upcoming tests are more important. I am finally on dayshift so going to the gym after work will work out so good!

I will walk on my treadmill at home tonight and study at the same time.

I am glad you both are still working toward goal!

Hey ladies! I've been out for a while. Had some major life changes. Seperated from my husband, moved into a new house I've been stressed out, busy and eating like crap. It doesn't help that my new roommate is stick skinny and lives on candy which is all over the house. I'm sure I've gained back a couple of lbs., but as soon as I'm setteled it will come off again.
Good job joining the YMCA I love the one I go to. Hope you guys are doing well. My goal for the week is to just keep my head above water and get to the grocery store to get some good food. I'd like to get to the gym tuesday, thursday and sunday.

Morning Ladies

Well I'm still hanging in there trying to be consistent with this exercise. LAs week I got in a lot of workouts but looking back at my calender it looks like a lot of them were resistance training. I kind of let the cardio slide. Trying to do better on that this week.

I also belong to the Y. Unfortunately I ahven't been in months. But I did send in my registration for a fitness class last week. So if I'm obligated to be there once a week I hope I can get myself to start swimming laps as well.

Genlinn I'm sorry to hear about the stress you are going through right now. But if you hang tough I know you'll make out all right. And stay away from that candy!

Hey girls!

Sorry it has been so long, I have had tests at school and have been sick.

But I am going back to the Y tonight after a 6 day slump.

Genlinn - sorry to hear that you and your husband seperated, I hope that you are ok.

My husband lost his job today, which isn't the happiest news, he will find something else but he really liked the company he was with.

But I hope you are both sticking with it. I have been bad with my water these last couple weeks, I am going to get back on track asap!!
