I guess I'll jump in here too-- Since I'm averaging 25 miles per week running, I should be able to make 1000 miles this year. Especially if I add in my paddling and hiking miles into that! I hadn't been tracking my mileage, but started again Jan 1. So far to date:
running miles = 24.5
kayaking miles = 8
total YTD: 32.5

This thread is so active, I'm not sure I can keep up, but I'll check in from time to time!

Ran 3.31 miles this morning...

2009 Run Challenge miles: 30.63... 969.37 to go!

I took yesterday off, but I was back at it this morning. Four more miles logged, grand total of 29.

12 down, 488 to go :)

3 miles last night - walked .5, ran 2.5. I'm pretty excited about that - I am able to build up to longer distances faster than I expected, just like you guys said!

I'm having surgery on 1/22 so will lose some exercise time. Once I get back from that and see where I am I might move up my goal some if I'm still going to be counting the stationary bike. It doesn't seem fair to set only 500 miles when I typically do 10 miles at a session on the bike. Josephine is right, it does need to be a stretch goal so I feel some pressure! I tend to perform much better under a little pressure! :)

Ran 3.0 miles this morning. I got the MOST awesome wind/rain suit from Roadrunnersports.com ! It came in the mail yesterday (but my Yaktracks are still on backorder) and I tested it out this morning. I was having a great run but then mother nature called in the worst way and well, um....I'm not going to do THAT in 20 degree weather on a neighbor's lawn no matter how DARK it is outside! LOL!!!!

I just have to say that I LOVE your name. My oldest daughter's middle name is Josephine. So elegant and classic! My 2 year old says "Jo-Jo-Bean" when saying the older one's middle name. It's quite comical!

I did 3 miles last night....2 on the elliptical and 1 on the recumbent bike

thinpossible 01-09-2009 03:02 PM

Sheesh, 1:00 and I haven't exercised yet. For me, that's flirting with failure. I've already had my day off this week, so I've got to go do it NOW. I'll report back when I'm through

OK! I did 30 minutes, whew, glad that's over. It's YOU keeping me on track, so thanks!

Yay....I got off my butt at work this afternoon and did 3.0 miles of power walking. Our building is an octagon shape and 3 laps is 1 mile. I did 9 laps and feel great that I can say I covered 6 miles today.

JackieRn 01-09-2009 05:42 PM

4.9 miles for me today, pretty good weather conditions.

urockmom 01-09-2009 06:07 PM

So, I got in 1 mile on the treadmill last night and then did 4+ hours of downhill skiing today (translated into 3.5 miles). Tonight, my legs are hurting!!!

So, I am up to 18.5 of 750.

jahjah1223 01-09-2009 07:00 PM

3.2 miles in today!

3.31 today, half with the poopers. As an added bonus I got to scare some dude that doesn't understand sidewalk rules. You do not run towards a jogger with a 150lb dog and and a 40lb dog unless you enjoy jumping out of your skin. That's right, if you don't feel the need to move I'll show you why you should. I'll let them jump towards you a bit. I know they're just being playful, I know I have a good grip and they won't touch you but you didn't know that did you Mr. Man? You should have moved nicely to the street and we all would've continued in a forward fashion with no one nearly wetting their running shorts. I hope you were near your house. I happen to know it's just not that hard to move when you're by yourself however, when you're with two dogs the difficulty increases. People with children/strollers and the elderly of course I'll wrangle the dogs out of the way for. Mini sidewalk ettiquette lesson now over.
