Default mp3/ipod player armbands during exercise??

This is one of those "am I too fat for...?" questions. Does anyone know if armbands for mp3 players are large enough for people with fat arms? You know, something I can pop an mp3 player into when I'm exercising. Or are they like airplane seats - large enough for some people, but uncomfortable for anyone that's larger than XYZ or obese. Thanks!

My son is fit and lifts weights. The armband is tight for him.

I have lots of loose skin on my arm, and the loose skin kind of spills over the arm band and looks pretty awful, so I just wear it on my forearm. But it does fit fine up there, and I think my arms are huge. Mine is a Belkin. I like it a lot. It's never slipped off. I see a lot of people just carry their iPods around too. Well, when they are walking or running anyway.

I just bought one about 2 weeks ago and it fits my upper arm without any slipping, but if my arms were much bigger it would have to be worn around my forearm.

And yes, mine is a Belkin also.

By the way, my arms are too big for the arm bands.

This reminds me of what happened last week. When I go for walks or shelve materials at work, I use to be able to put my keys, wallet and Ipod in my bra. All at the same time, it was like "Fort Knox" in there.

Last week, I placed my Ipod in my bra and it fell out just missing the toilet at work. Now, I have to rearrang it so that it would rest on the strap because the extra bossom has melted away. So far, that works for me.

Thanks for your replies. It sounds like mine will be an unlikely fit, though I might try anyways. I find it bizarre that armbands are produced as one-size-fits-all products rather than S/M/L varieties. It's funny to imagine electronics accessories adjusting for body size, but it's not only overweight/obese people who may have problems with this but also people who are naturally larger, especially males.

I've seen armband extenders in the stores. My hubby's armband barely fits, so he may invest in an extender.

I bought one by BodyGlove when I got my MP3 player a couple of years ago. At first, it was uncomfortably tight even with it as big as possible. Now, I've been able to adjust it to make it a bit smaller & it fits perfectly.

As an alternative to the armband, you can pick up a new or refurbished iPod shuffle pretty cheaply now. It has a nice little clip that lets you attach it securely right to whatever top you are wearing. It's light and stays out of the way. I've been clipping mine to my tank top and sweating on it for a solid month and it's fine. It holds over 200 songs (which you can "shuffle" from your music collection in iTunes), which is more than enough for anyone's exercise needs. You can also arrange the songs to be played in a specific order rather than shuffled. Do I sound like a commercial? LOL.

I have big arms. Armbands don't really fit me. I had a small mp3 player (ipod shuffle) I wore that on a neck stap down my shirt. that worked well.

Now I have an iphone. I use bluetooth cordless headphones and keep the actual phone on the tradmill or whatever I'm on. When I go outside for walks i keep it in a small lightweight bag that I can wear across my body.

I have pretty big arms. I just got an XtremeMac SportWrap armband for the nano. It's basically Neoprene (stretchy) with Velcro. I don't have a ton of extra room on it, but I can attach it comfortably to my upper arm.

I found one on clearance and was SHOCKED when it fit my arm. It is made my Incase and I find it stretches. My upper arm is around 13-14" - my arm could probably be an inch or two bigger and it would still fit...

Mine looks like this:

I just bought a Belkin one today for my ipod touch and there's plenty of room in it! I have quite big arms too. Did make the fat bulge rather fetchingly when I had it on tight enough though!

This is why all my workout pants have pockets. Gotta have a spot for my tunes.

I have a clip that the ipod slips into and I just clip it to the top of my pants. Works great. I'm not sure where it came from because I bought mine second-hand.
