Hi Guys

Here is to May...staring back on running...trying to prepare for the San Fran Marathon....and get in shape of course!! Best Wishes+

EZMONEY 05-09-2008 02:34 PM

Took the dogs out for 3.5 after dropping nephew off at school. Worked a few hours then jumped on the treadmill for 2.5 miles...got hungry!

49/75 MILES

Have a great week-end ladies!

cakses 05-09-2008 05:12 PM

Been sick the last few days. Feeling a bit better today, so I got on the Tm for 3.5 miles (2.0 running). Lost a bit of my momentum at the beginning of last week, so I am trying to get back to doing this every day. Have another walk planned this evening with the family but not sure how much mileage I'll get in - taking my Nike+ stuff so I can count it though!

12.25/50

CyndiM 05-09-2008 07:01 PM

I've been riding my bike more often, so less walking.

coldbright, it gets easier and more enjoyable! You are doing awesome!

Great job again rennie!

Welcome devandra!

Gary, Love the new dig pic. Cute. I've signed up for my first official walk/race. 11 y/o DD and I are walking in the Cystic Fibrosis 10k being held at Henry Vilas Park in Madison,WI next Sunday. Our junior high / high school phy ed coach has a son who was born with CF. You realize how awful this disease can be when a 5 y/o you know spends 21 days in the hospital fighting for breath. We won't be racing, but we'll be having a terrific time. Wish us luck!

cakeses, You're still on track. I'm glad you're feeling better!

cyndim, You're off to a great start this month and have really suuceeded at the whole weightloss thing. A pat on the back to you!!!

Not a lot to report for exercise yesterday. I spent 20 min kicking the soccer ball around with my children and SIL. Our oldest daughter is being confirmed tomorrow. A lot of time has been going into shopping, cleaning, cooking, yard work etc... in preperation for her party. Throw in other things at school and church and I've had a busy week! Hubby and DS #2 are off at Cub Scout camp this weekend. They'll be back in plenty of time for church tomorrow, but that takes my right hand man. Anyhoo, wish me luck. I'm planning to walk, ride bike or play tennis for an hour today. Whichever the kids want. I'll edit and add it if I get it done. Again, wishes my way guys and gals!!

My May goal was 100 miles and I'm only at 13.25 right now. I've really been trying to go, but band concerts, lacrosse games, and now band banquet have kept me from having time to go to the gym and get in my structured exercise. I've gotten exercise 6/9 days, but I'm revising my goal to 75 miles because I've got such limited time with finals and everything.

Baskgal 05-10-2008 07:01 PM

Got out there running and completed 3 miles. A little over halfway to goal this month.

Hope everyone has a great Mother's day with their families.

HI Ladies :)

Well since Angie ran a 1/2 marathon relay with her sister today (Angie's leg was 7.5 miles) I thought I would match that on my own. The dogs and I went out for a little over 3.5 miles this morning and I followed that up with 4 miles on the treadmill watching country music videos.

CAT I am glad you are feeling better :) I hope you have a nice walk with the family.

CINDY Enjoy your bike riding.

LOVNMOM Wow! What a way to start with 6+ miles! You will love the 10K...we have done a few 10K's but mostly 5K's...we just love them. There is one almost every week-end of the year around us. My father's business partner's daughter had CF, she was my age and we were friends growing up. She was always so sick. She passed away around the age of 13, many years ago. My niece was confirmed last week-end, enjoy the party.

SHY I see you have Leslie workin' overtime ;)

VIATRE revise all you need to...just keep getting the miles in the best you can, any way you can. Good luck with finals!

BASKGAL that is so awesome your are 1/2 to goal...maybe next month you'll up that ;)

HAVE A GREAT MOTHER'S DAY LADIES!

Hi all!
Glad to see you all moving! I have walked 22 mles so far and I have doen about 15 riding the bike out on the trails.
My auctions went well and I have recovered and just finishing up the paper work. I have a minor surgery today so I am on the couch for the afternoon. I won't set a goal but I just wanted you to know I have not dropped off the face of the earth, just super busy but still moving :) HAPPY SPRING!

coldbrightday 05-12-2008 04:00 PM

Got my 4 miles in over the weekend (aimed low what with mother's day and other committments), but I walked them instead of running. Gonna make up for that today.

L, Oh my gosh, so glad to see you back in action. I'm glad your busy season went well and didn't knock you off the trail. I gotta get my behind back on the trail!!!

free, I don't remember what your goal is for the month, but you are doing awesome!! I just love your "smile myself to sleep" quote. Is that your own? Can we call you gracey?

EZ, a man who cleans the house for his wife gets to add a lot of extra miles to his count as far as I'm concerned. The 10k won't be difficult as I won't be running it. My 11 y/o, a friend of hers and the girl's mother will be my partners. The mother has always been naturally VERY thin (just like her father) so she never exercises. We'll just be walking whatever pace the girls do. 13, that's very young. I hope we can help make a change. Great job this month!!

Baskgal and Coldbright, You two are rockin' it out this month. Great job. I need to get inspired by you!!! Send it my way ladies, please.

Ennay, the average week for you looks like a good month to most. I still don't know how you do it. You send me some inspiration too! Pretty please.

Rennie, Terrific job. All that walkin' is why you can snub your nose at that _itchy nurse.

I'm going now to fix myself a healthy brkfst and then I am hitting the hill for a couple hours. I'm posting it now, because then I know I will "just do it"

8 hours and 45 min of 31 hours

Baskgal 05-13-2008 01:31 PM

Ran 5 miles this morning w/DD in the jogging stroller. I really prefer going solo, but DH was busy, so it was either bring her along or not get out there today. Anyway, yes, I am halfway to goal for this month, but I know I will be slowing down within the next week. I have a lot going on with DD's end of school year activities, out of town guests, and preparing for our visit with the inlaws accross the pond. I don't even want to think about packing!!! Aside from the fact that my children have outgrown everything!! Kind of hard to buy anthing other than bathing suits and tank top nowadays in Florida! Oh well, enough ranting, we are off to the pool! Gotta work off my runner's farmer tan!

34/45

lovnmom 05-13-2008 02:36 PM

And I did just "do it" too. The dog and I hit the bike trail and walked 4 miles to the neighboring town, had a drink of water and walked back. It's simply the perfect day for a long walk. We're to get thunder storms this evening so it's mostly sunny, a little muggy with a great breeze. I've had nothing but healthy food and am feeling more like myself again. I did a lot of surfing around in the support section today and really am feeling optomistic and upbeat again. 3FC has got to be the single most helpful thing I do to stay on track.
Thanks again to everyone here.
Have a great day!

EZMONEY 05-13-2008 11:19 PM

HI GALS ~

Busy day at work but I was still able to get the dogs out for 3.5 miles before dinner. It was my night and being limited on time I just made a chef salad...had to run to the store for some eggs...left the truck running with the air for my mutts and ran into an old girlfriend I hadn't seen since my 20 year reunion in '92...so much fun...so sad though I had to tell her about an old high school friend of ours that had just passed away last week.

You are all doing great BASKGAL and LOVNMOM way to kick it up a notch!!

65/75 MILES

Viatre 05-13-2008 11:48 PM

Well, I feel really good because I finally got back to working on my goal. I did 6 miles today (jogged three nonconsecutively and walked three) within an hour and a half, so I'm pretty happy. I currently have just over 19 miles done so far, and I've done those all in four days because while I've exercised pretty often, I haven't counted my lacrosse practices or games towards my goal. So I'm almost half way to 50 miles and almost halfway through the month! It's pretty much on schedule since I've truncated my goal again. I'm just too busy to accomplish it because I can't go to the gym enough, especially with lacrosse.

Congrats to everyone who is making such good progress on their goal! Especially EZ, that's really neat that you've already almost met your goal!

lovnmom 05-14-2008 07:00 PM

Went a 4 mile loop with M today to add another hour and then picked my children up from school and played an hour of tennis. I should really get them out there most days. The weather is right for it now in a month it will be so hot.

Gary, My 25th class reunion was suppose to be last summer, but no one got around to organizing it ( I had done our 20th ) so we're celebrating in August with the class behind us. So far we've only lost one member of our class. Lupus when she was only 28. I feel very fortunate. You are doing awesome with all your miles.

Gracey, You're doing really great too and you're really close to goal. Is hitting goal exciting or scary for you?

LOVNMOM ~ Bummer...my sister has lupus...she has lived 20 years since it was diagnosed...the doctors only gave her 5-10 years then. She isn'r ever really well, but she hangs tough! Enjoy your tennis...a big sport in our family...not me!

Gracey ~ keep going1 DIXIE'S MOM ~ good to see you SHY smokin'! VIATRE ~ Thanks, but I was at 169 then went back up to 178...a work in progress! On the downhill slide now! Awesome on the miles...I never played lacrosse...a back east sport I 'spose.

3 miles on the treadmill yesterday, plus 2 miles of commute-walking last night and another 3 this morning. That puts me over halfway to my goal with half the month to go. Woohoo!!

(Now if I can just start eating better again... last weekend was rough, food-wise.)

freethetoys 05-15-2008 02:59 PM

15 6 MILES total = 50miles

lovmum- i dont know it feels weird being near my targey its been such a LONG journey, i was in a plateau for the last 6 months which has really ut a downer on dieting, i find if i am not succeeding it is easier to give up when you are close, just think, oh well this is close enough. I now have my holiday for motivation to get it sorted out, and a potential bikini as a reward but i dunno if ill feel confident enough to ware one.
so i guess im just hoping i actually HIT the goal eventually, it still feels like im at the bottom of the mountain even after loosing near 60lbs.

L, Our weather here has been just gorgeous as well. We've been so busy with all the end of the year school events, but me and the children have been taking full advantage of the spring weather. We know it will turn to hot hot summer over night.

Coldbright, Great job on the exercise. Hang tough on the menu. You'll get there.

Gracey, I tend to back slide when I get nearer goal. We'll help push each other across the line this time!!

Rennie, Terrific job as always!!

Gary, Our weather is so nice 3 on the TM would be murder. Way to go. Too bad about your pooches paw. My doggie went 3 on the bike trail with me yesterday. Spring is setting in for her too. I can walk her leashless and after the birdies and bunnies she goes.

As I mentioned 3 miles on the bike trail yesterday for another 45 min. I also played bean bag toss outside with the children while I folded 6 loads of laundry at the picnic table. Then I even convinced my overworked hubby to play two games with us. We were outside together for two hours and needless to say supper was way late, but it was great. I'm counting that two hours as 30 min. I was multitasking AND got the entire family involved. It should count for something!!!

coldbrightday 05-16-2008 01:27 PM

Thanks, lovnmom! I'm back on track with my eating habits the last few days and feeling much better.

Ran two miles and walked two this morning. Would've liked to run 4 but I stayed up way too late last night and just couldn't do it first thing in the morning. Maybe tonight.

Have a good weekend, everybody!

lovnmom 05-16-2008 04:24 PM

My son's second grade class spent the entire day biking and playing at the park. It was a blast. We biked 12 miles total, played bocci ball and bean bag toss. It's amazing the difference in their endurance levels. Some had to stop every 3/4 of a mile to take a drink and rest and then others, like my DS and his friends, had to have their own adult because they were so far ahead. I suppose some never leave the driveway on their bikes. A beautiful partly sunny, breezy day. Perfect! On my own I ride about 3 miles in 20 min so I'm logging 1 hour for today's adventure.

Lovn
Thanks :). Wow you had a busy day. Sounds like great fun. Out in the drive on their bikes, heck there are some kids their parents never make leave in front of the tv or computer.

coldbright
Wow ran that many miles. I don't think I could run that far unless a bear was running behind me. Way to go.

Today has been pretty good. Got a lot done and took the dog to the vet. Poor thing hasn't been able to walk on her back legs. They think what happened is that she bolted after a rabbit and messed up a nerve in her back. She has developed arthritis ( not uncommon for a dog much younger than she is and she is 14 years old, just a problem labs get ). They put her on a different mead and a pain killer and I have to take her back in a week. I sure hope these meads make the poor old thing feel better. For now, I take her outside several times a day to do her business because she can't walk on the back legs.
