I waited too long in the day to go running, and then at 4 PM I was ready to go but worried about safety since it was going to get dark soon, so I stayed home and then went to the gym later. Not nearly as good since I get bored running on the treadmill. I only did one mile running (but then did a lot of rowing, weights, and swimming, so I still got a good workout in). However, that doesn't really help me with the challenge. I WILL do better tonight.

With 12 hours of meetings at church and church service yesterday, my treadmill work has taken a beating. Angie and I have been able to get in two Starbucks walks with the mutts though in the last 3 days.

Anyone know how many steps make a mile?

It is about 2000 steps, so if you are on an eliptical every 2000 strides can be counted as a mile. also if you know you walk 3 miles in an hour you can count and hour of cardio at the gym as 3 miles.... a pedometer is more accurate because you can mesure your stride, but they tend not to work on the gym machines. if you look at my siggie there is a link for google pedometer where you can map walks in your neighborhood....
