I really like DDR, but I also play Dance Factory where I can input my own songs, only problem with Dance Factory is that the arrows are in different positions when they come down the screen so it can be confusing if you've played alot of DDR. I tend to mix up my exercise between dance mat, running and exercise bike.
I have DDR on the xbox360 (DDR Universe). I would highly recommend getting a dance pad with a high density foam insert. It certainly helped with my foot placement! The cheapest pro mats are from newegg.com and run about $60 (MadCatz).
I have now gotten my baby sister hooked on DDR and she's gotten her own system. We have a blast when we work out together. Last time we were totally drenched in sweat and giggling the entire time (btw, I'm in my 40's and she's in her late 30's). We can't wait to take it to our family vacation to get everyone else hooked on it.
I had a wee back problem earlier in the summer, so baby sis is ahead of me on her uber moves!!
I use it all the time! It's the only thing I really have at home (besides Exercise TV on Demand) to do when it's really hot and humid out (we've had a heat index of 105 the past couple of days, and it's been huuuumid!). I can really only do the light mode but I make sure to keep moving in between songs. I'm not very coordinated but it still gets me sweatin'!
Wow, this looks like it could be fun! I am looking for an exercise that would be fun -- so this is a game? I just looked it up, and it looks like you can do it through your computer? Is that right? I don't even have a TV and don't know what Xbox or PS things even ARE!
