That was soooo rude of that lady to say something so mean to you!! Glad you didn't let that bother you. Keep going back and show her that you won't let some dumb b**** keep you from having fun!!! :-)

as for the dancing with the stars dvd....that does sound fun, but don't get your hopes up too much. Those stars only have like a week to learn each dance. So i heard they were dancing like 8 or 9 hours a day. But don't let that discourage you either. I think it would be fun to learn those dances. I will have to pick me up a copy of the dvd too!! sounds FUN!!! Just like Zumba!!

Last nite another woman asked me if it was my first step class (it was but I also find it rude)
Not to mention there is a lot of non latin girls in my class and I have been dancing since I was 6 years old , I know mwerengue, salsa, cumbia etc, but I would never say "You look like you dont know what you are doing" It is non of my bussiness in any case.

The reason that I didn`t like Zumba was because it was very robotic. I mean, that`s fine for aerobics I guess, but Caribbean dance styles are by definition not the European step-step-plie-step type. To make Caribbean dance fit into that mold makes it un-Caribbean.

Then again, I´m Venezuelan born and raised, so we take our dance seriously and with a laugh.
