Default Release from GNC?

Does release work? What are your experiences with it? Thanks, Megan

I had a really hard time finding this through a Google search but finally found their website (the marketers selling it use GNC in their website, but GNC does NOT mention this product on their regular website, even though the Release website shows that some GNC stores carry their products).

The site doesn't list prices either...I guess I *could* call one of the GNC stores listed as carrying the product (my local GNC isn't listed, BTW) and find out how much they charge, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were asking at least $150 for their 'system' - it IS GNC after all, and usually "diet systems" = spend a lot of money for something worth a fraction of the cost.

So anyway...the Release system for women consists of three bottles of capsules; the "morning formula"'s key ingredients are Caffeine, Green Tea Extract, Magnesium Salicylate, Theobromine, Synephrine, Yohimbine Bark Extract, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid, Calcium. (a few vitamins/minerals, and a TON of stimulants...the first 6 ingredients are stimulants)

The "Afternoon Formula" has L-Tyrosi, Magnesium Salicylate (this is basically ASPIRIN!), Theobromine, Guarana Extract, Caffeine, Synephrine, Yohimbe Bark Extract. (more stimulants)

The "Evening Formula" contains Citrin K, Psyllium Husk, Valerian Root, Ho Shou Wu, Turkey Rhubarb, Cascara Segrada, Senna Extract, Piper Nigrum (Black Pepper). (laxatives, sedatives - some of these really pack a punch...)

Plus NOW for a limited time they will give you a "$50 value" bottle of "Censor" which apparently is an overpriced CLA/Fish Oil capsule: Conjugated Linoleic Acid, Gamma Linoleic Acid, Alpha Linoleic Acid, Eicosapentaenoic Acid, Docosahexaenoic Acid, and Omega 3-6-9 Blend (CLA, Fish Oil, Flax Oil)

Look...there's nothing in these products that you can't get elsewhere. And at least one of the ingredients (Yohimbe) while lauded as a weight loss supplement and 'herbal Viagra' hasn't been proven to do anything. Valerian is not supposed to be consumed for more than 2 weeks at a time (see link).

Apparently, the Release "system" consists of hopping you up on stimulants in the morning and afternoon, then putting you to bed with a dose of laxatives and a little herbal sedative. Ahhh legal speed...but it's natural, so it can't possibly be bad for you...right?

(I just found another page from the company actually selling this - they are asking $164 for the "system" )

Personally, I'd give a BIG thumbs down on this.
