Default Suvaril?

Anyone hear about this new appetite suppressant/metabolism booster?

www.suvaril.com

Interestingly, their "satisfaction guarantee" :

12 Month Satisfaction Guarantee
After purchasing a full 12 months' supply, if you aren't completely satisfied with the results, we'll give you a full money-back refund.

# Refund shall include the entire customer cost for all 12 months, less shipping and handling.
# Customers must have taken Suvaril for 12 consecutive months.
# Guarantee will be nullified should the customer accept new product offers or product upgrades. Please see and review all promotional materials carefully.
I wonder what they mean by new product offers or upgrades? Does this mean that if, 7 months down the road, they call you and offer you something special, that you can't get a refund after the year? They are counting on the fact that most people will forget about the refund 12 months down the road. Plus, they don't disclose the full refund terms, and tell you to read your promotional materials carefully. Fine print can be a killer.

It seems to be the current trend for natural supplement companies to try to appear as pharmaceutical companies, from packaging to product descriptions. This one even comes with something called "managed care" which makes you think it's like insurance, or a medical service. It's neither, it's just automatic billing and shipments.

Regarding the ingredients, it doesn't appear to be harmful. It contains vitamins and minerals, the same ones you would find in a multi-vitamin tablet, but not as many. It also contains chromium which has been proven NOT to assist in weight loss, but still remains as a catch word on many weight loss products because not everyone is aware that it's just old hype. The remaining ingredients don't appear to be useful for weight loss, either. However, that's true for just about every similar product.

When a pill is created that really does assist in weight loss, we're going to read about it in the news, and our doctors will be bubbling over with enthusiasm to tell us about it

Btw, their site also says:
Quote:
Talk to your doctor for a diet and exercise program that’s right for you. And consider Suvaril. As part of a healthy lifestyle consisting of proper nutrition and exercise, taking Suvaril daily may help you achieve—and maintain—a safe, steady weight reduction. With Suvaril, you won’t get miracle weight loss, just safe, moderate weight management.
So, they are telling you that you still have to go on a diet and exercise program, and that their product may not do anything at all. If you go on the diet and exercise program, then you won't even need a pill.

If you feel that you need an appetite suppressant, please see your physician. They can prescribe something that has been proven to work, has the data to back it up, and they can monitor you for progress and any possible side effects.

Good luck

In order to get your money back, you have to have invested at least $360, and then wait until the end of the year to apply for your refund, and then add on that it hasn't been evaluated by the FDA - it has half the vitamins of a Flinstones, plus 50mg caffeine and 90 mg epigallocatechin gallate from the green tea - which is an antioxidant and not proven to aid in weight loss. I did find this - but I don't have an official source:

Healthy young men who took two green tea capsules (containing 50 mg of caffeine and 90 mg of EGCG) three times a day had a significantly greater energy expenditure and fat oxidation than those who took caffeine alone or placebo.52 Thus, green tea extract has the potential to influence body weight, although clinical trials on weight loss in humans are needed to confirm these preliminary observations.

For the above study, they had the equivalent of 6 capsules a day, and for the above product, you will be getting 1 capsule a day. If it were me, I'd buy a bottle of One A Day and a box of green tea!

Aha! Ya know what else they're doing in their 'terms and conditions' for the money back guarantee?

They're trying to keep people who use a Visa or MC to be able to dispute the transaction (i.e. a 'chargeback'). The customer needs to be aware that there is a time limit - I think it's 60 days from the transaction date - in which they can file a chargeback against the merchant. Obviously after 12 months, the time period has lapsed.

And guess what else - if a merchant gets too many chargebacks against his account, that merchant will be levied fines and penalities and also run the very real risk of losing his account privileges altogther -- effectively putting him out of business if it's an online/mail order biz.

Something to think about - but of course you're better off not dealing with these slimeballs, although the website can fool a lot of people. However...the tipoff is that little box that says:

Quote:
These statements have not been reviewed by the Food and Drug Administration, and individual results may vary. Suvaril should be taken as part of a healthy lifestyle and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Individuals shown are paid models, and not necessarily Suvaril customers.
Uh-HUH!
