Has anyone tried this stuff? I have a real problem at work when I hit that 3pm slump and I really feel close to falling asleep at my desk (I have a very boring job). I'm always a little hesitant to go for anything that isn't FDA approved, but this product tempts me. Has anyone used it with good results? I try to drink green tea but it just doesn't do anything for me anymore.
I haven't tried it personally, but the night shifters at my work use it.
It must work if they keep buying it. I think it's fairly expensive.
I think I saw it at WalMart the other day. They'd probably have the cheapest price.
I hate to admit it but I picked it up here in this wee town and used it one day in early January when I just felt I had to keep going to get things done. It seemed to work and there were no side effects - maybe it was psychological.
I've never tried it, but I can see how it would be tempting.
Looking at the ingredients, I don't know if I would be comfortable taking it. It claims no jitters, etc, but I know that personally taurine causes jitters for me, and I am one of those people who will experience a "niacin flush" when taking a supplement that contains niacin. so jitters, a red rash and itchy skin (even though it won't last that long) doesn't sound like a way I would like to gain energy.
however, i do take a b complex vitamin if i'm feeling a little lethargic (it contains niacinamide, instead of niacin) and it does seem to help without the caffine rush or jitters (I just feel "normal") There are b complex vitamins that contain many of the same things as that drink, without the kind of scary stuff, and most are under $10 a bottle for a 30 day supply. much cheaper than that drink.
also, and i don't know if you can do this, when I had a desk job and would start to get that mid afternoon slump, I would go outside and take a walk around the building, just a quick, brisk walk, maybe 10 minutes.. just enough to get my heart pumping a little, and that did wonders for waking me up.
I have no doubt it provides a boost.....but the taste is downright VILE. I mean.....I can happily sip room temperature Tequila..and enjoy it, and I couldn't get through a teeny bottle of this stuff.
I bought something similar (Nitro 2 Go - Instant Energy) at a convenience store. It comes in a small bottle (2 oz.). It was for a family member who needed more energy during the day and doesn't like coffee. He only drinks half a bottle because we were worried about the side effects (niacin flush, as mentioned before). He's fine with half a bottle and I tried about a teaspoon worth. The taste reminds me of Red Bull, which I've once tried in the Sugarfree version and have never drank it again. I was wondering if the other people who have tried it down a whole bottle at a time. I think one ounce is enough for us. The energy level was good. It does run into a lot of money like most energy drinks. We only use it when we really have to. I don't think we will stick with it.
Me and my hubby tried it and it didn't do anything for either of us. I didn't care for the taste and my hubby even bought another bottle to try for another day to see if maybe the body needs to get used to it or something but it didn't work. They are expensive, even at walmart.
I used the stuff when I was driving across states. It only worked for me about 3 times and then it really doesn't work anymore. Of course I was taking one every few hours. It only lasted about 3 ours for me though. There is this spray that is B12 and Ginseng and my friend says it works pretty well. I've used it and it is better then the 5hr energy stuff.
i keep a case of these in my desk at work. i don't take it even once a week, but it is for those days that i just don't feel i can stay awake. thats often during my period. i have found it to be very effective, but there is some caffeine in it.
