Question Warm drink with Meals

Not looking for a miracle weight loss thing on this one, just heard it's better to drink warm drinks instead of cold. Something about the fats, oils, and grease solidifying with cold drinks. And that when you use warm water they dissolve easier? To me it sounded fake since there's acid in the stomach and well that would break it down anyway.

I've heard that as well. I don't know if it is true or not.

Many Asians will drink warm liquids with their meals because it helps with digestion.

I drink whatever I'm in the mood to have. It is usually room temp water.

I drink water at room temp or warmer just because I hate cold drinks. I have heard that about people in asian countries, mare but it isn't why I do it I don't know about this whole warm/cold water thing. I really don't think it matters. Probably what matters more is that you are getting in your 6-8 glasses a day

I'm pretty sure the body is too warm to allow fats to solidify. Anything cold that your body consumes is going to warm up. Plus your digestive juices are doing all kinds of interesting things to the fats as your food breaks down.

If you are unsure, this might be a good question for the dietitian. Check the forum announcement for more info

I agree with Suzanne's reasoning, BUT I tend to drink warm drinks with my meals because it seems to give my belly a warm, full feeling and I generally feel more full at the end of my meal. It may be simply a placebo effect happening here, but I swear when I have some popcorn and a cup of coffee with it, I don't get hungry again for a very long time.

I think warm drinks can be comforting, and I enjoy a cup of hot tea because it really satisfies me But I also drink ice cold fruit smoothies for breakfast and it keeps me going all morning.

I usually drink room temperature water too because I don't like the coldness of icewater. But I have heard that drinking warmer liquids helps speed up metabolism. I've never actually counted on it though!

I've read that drinking *cold* liquids speeds up your metabolism because the body has to use calories to heat up the liquid. Who knows????

lol Wow so confusing. Interesting thought though. One of those things that wouldn't hurt to try and see for a week, just out of sheer curiosity. I've never thought about it but I've heard both and now it's confusing. Hot speeds it up, and cold too...hmm...
