My boyfriend started using Hydroxycut along with a calorie controlled diet. No exercise though. He did this for 2 months and lost between 2 and 3 lbs. per week. This was a year ago.

I decided to give the pills a try but the side effects were terrible. I couldn't sleep for 2 days because I was not used to the amount of caffeine the pills contained. I was also shaky and felt dizzy and sick. Had to stop after two doses.

My boyfriend claimed that Hydroxycut was able to "replace" doing exercise, but I don't recommend it. Also I think the caffeine and other ingredients didn't affect him because he was already a caffeine addict.

I don't believe Hydroxycut works. Following a normal diet with exercise would most likely yield the same results minus the crazy side effects.

Hydroxycut's original claim to fame was because it contained ephedra, which as we know has been found to be dangerous and now illegal to sell; the versions now being sold are in my opinion seem just as dangerous to me and it also seems to me to be a totally nonvalid idea that a pill of any kind can replace healthy exercise, which reacts in the mind and body of an individual in so many positive aspects, including aiding in weight loss and appetite control.

In my opinion, it's scary that people believe a pill can replace exercise, but to each their own.

No, I heard the FDA has now approved it causing this to be brought
back in many of your favorite diet pills...

Nothing like the smell of ephedra in the morning

I had heard this also, Rockrz, some time ago, but I don't find that it is true, although I could be wrong, I haven't looked at every label on every rainbow shelf of drugstore diet pills. It isn't in Hydroxycut, or wasn't last time I looked.

There are "natural" (words fail me) forms of ephedra that aren't banned and that aren't called ephedra, that I've seen on diet pill labels.

A lot of folks would be glad to see it back, I'm sure, and it is still possible to get ephedra but I'd hope they wouldn't put it back in the "drugstore" pills as they are dangerous enough (in my opinion) without it.

Caveat: I do have strong opinions on the what I consider insane amount of unregulated "diet" pills out there for anyone of any age, state of health, whatever to just plop down their money in some hope that it might help them lose weight, while at the same time, they may have no idea at all what is in the pills or whether what the label says is in the pills or whether any of all that stuff is going to be a time bomb they pop in their body because they may or may not have some undiagnosed medical problem that whatever is in the pill will activate.

Actually, I know about this as I've used Hydroxycut in the distant past when I used to be an idiot and could have died from it.

Just my opinion, not meaning to tell anyone what they ought to buy or use or do with their life, hope everyone has a nice day.

I actually had a bleeding nose while on Hydroxycut.

All it did was raise my heart rate, make me feel jittery and give me a bleeding nose.

Obviously I stopped it. I took it back in 1999 and got it from the States (it was illegal in Canada at that time).

I take one hydroxycut hardore 30 minutes before my workouts. They give really good energy for my workouts. But I do not work out with it at least once a week because it seems to be harder to get through my workouts w/o it and I don't want to be dependant on it. However I haven't noticed a difference in my eating. I have been eating well enough long enough that I don'treally get cravings or too much overeating.

I've taken hydroxycut but I only used it as a caffeine supplement. Once a day, not three times like they said. I never experienced the side effects. It was a great energy booster and could make me work out longer.

I kinda called it my happy pill. Haha. I take it on my lethargic days to give me a boost.
