Fibromyalgia #160

it's Time For A New Thread. We Have Been Quite Talkative Lately

CarebearsChris 10-14-2006 03:55 PM

No I have not tried probiotics. I do eat at least 2 containers of yogurt a day...sometimes 3. I will have to talk to my new doctor about that when I see him on November 2, 2006. OH I don't like changing doctors....but it is for the best.

Joanne D 10-14-2006 06:39 PM

Hey There

I was having the cramps again today.. The hubby said 'let's go to health food store and get the peppermint caps.. ' So off we went.. 16.dollars. I have taken 2 so far and no cramps . maybe they were going to stop anyhow. After all these years of pain if this helps then I don'y mind the cost.. I will look for them at Sam's or Walmart. They may have them and should be cheaper.
Joanne

The difference a day makes. Thursday I felt like death warmed over. Yesterday I felt better but still not all that good. Today I feel like I could conquer the world. Of course I know better than to try that one. Got some walking in today thou.

Hope everyone is doing good.

Tammy 10-14-2006 10:08 PM

Anne, my "normal" days are going to be M-W-F. This past week since we didn't have school on Friday, I went M-W-Th. After school on Th, I was totally pooed out. Slept off and on all day Friday too. I think you are being very smart taking Wed. off. 4 days in a row is too much. Heck, I couldn't even make it 3 in a row a couple times this year.

Chris, I usually eat at least 1 container of yogurt a day. I was reading in a magazine today about women not getting enough calcium because they cut out dairy products when they attempt to lose weight. Makes sense that I wouldn't get enough calcium, so I've been trying to do better.

My nephew is in 8th grade, and he is 13 years old. I think he is pretty immature for his age. I'm comparing him to Tim at that age. We're taking him home in the morning on the way to church. He said that his parents turned the heat off when they left for the weekend. I told him that I thought he should turn it on when he gets home. He has no idea how to run the thermostat. I was shocked! They won't be home until later in the day, so I'll go in the house and turn it on before I go on to church. Their poor cat has to be freezing! I don't understand my brother and SIL sometimes.

Joanne, I'm so glad that you tried the peppermint! Hope it continues to help you. I don't like pain.

Meme, I hope the minister is someone that will be good for everyone. I had to chuckle when you mentioned that he looked preppie. My nephew and I went to see Tim today, and you described a couple of people that I saw on campus. Of course, I saw some pretty grubby people too. Let us know what you think of the minister after tomorrow.

Had a wonderful visit with Tim today. Went to Meijer and bought some necessities (Coke, muffins, laundry soap). We ate at the Student Center and just had time to chat. That's the first that Tim and Danny have seen each other since July, so that was nice. Bob was doing things at the old house, so he didn't go along.

Mima 10-15-2006 06:40 AM

Congrats on the 2 lbs Anne and I agree about your schedule. That fibro and pain generally makes you tired. I got 9 hours sleep last night-wow!!!
I only pd 12 for my capsules. But now I don;t have to take them all the time although I ate stuff I shouldn't in the past 2 days. I am so glad for you, Joanne. I guess the stomache needs to calm down . And you Chris.
What church in FL , Meme. Boy, there are some big churches there. Our pastor in FL gets at least 160,000. But the church has over 6,000 people,
Brad has a cold. He works so hard. Hope he doesn't share-I got some zinc from Walmart.
Went to a bd party at Brad's church for a lady who turned 80. I gave her one of the bibs I make out of towels saying that everyone over 50 needs one.
Hope she has a sense of humor.
Bye for now, Mima

CarebearsChris 10-15-2006 11:57 AM

Today is weigh in day for me. I have lost another 5 pounds bringing the total weight loss to 20 pounds. However, I don't care to loss that much if it means getting as sick as I was Thursday.

Hope everyone is having a good day

MemeToo 10-16-2006 12:14 AM

Congratulations on the weight loss ... doin' good!

Hope you can handle the 4 days a week, Anne. I don't think I could do that right now. Oh, I could do it for a week or two, maybe, but I couldn't keep it up continually. I'd have to crash eventually. I'm not even sure I could do it for a week or two right now. I'm just bone weary tired all the time. Almost fell asleep in church tonight and that's something I just don't do.

OK ... the preacher. He is really good. I liked him a lot. Like his wife, too. They seem to have great personalities and everybody at church seemed to like them (they lost the 'preppie' look today). She sang this morning and they both sang tonight and did a fabulous job. I guess they are a 'shoe-in'. We will have a vote on them next Sunday night so I won't know for sure until then - but I'm pretty sure now that if he'll have us we'll probably have him! ;) After meeting SOME of our people, they may not have us! :p One of our elderly ladies told them last night that we were being on our best behavior (some were acting particularly goofy) ... the minister's wife winked at her and said, "so are we!" I thought, yep ... you will fit right in! They commented on the fact that we sure liked to 'fellowship' a lot! HA We had a 'fellowship' yesterday for them at the church from 2 to 4 with finger foods. Then there were about 30 of us who got together last night at a restaurant in town for dinner at 7. Then today after church we all went out to eat ... we had so many they had to seat us on two different sides of the restaurant at Chili's. Then tonight after church there were so many of us that Shoney's gave us the whole back room. I told one couple that I've never seen such a large group of people enjoy each other's company so much and so often. It's like they can't wait to get to church and no one wants to leave. And the church is growing because of that. When people come to visit, they feel that love that the people have for each other ... they want to be there. I can't remember the name of the church where the minister is now, Mima. I'll think of it though. But he is not the pastor over the whole church, he is the pastor of the seniors. The church where he is now has several pastors. His church is in transition and getting a new pastor so he is filling in as fulltime pastor right now and is afraid he will be out of a job period when the new pastor comes because he will bring his own staff with him. Plus, he wants his own church.

If I were to sleep for 9 whole hrs. I'd think something was wrong with me! Was that straight through? That lady may have thought you were trying to tell her she was a messy eater or something! How funny!!! Happy Birthday ... here have a bib, you're drooling! :D

I know I don't get enought calcium. I was taking tablets but I've even quit doing that now. Don't know why, either ... just quit. I don't like milk and yogurt gives me headaches. I need to start back taking the tablets before my bones start breaking. Thanks for reminding me!

That's pretty funny about your nephew not knowing how to turn the heat on, Tammy. Maybe the cat could show him! I think my kids knew how to do stuff like that when they were about 8 or 9. I'd always be telling them to turn it up or down ... to match whatever mood I was in. We also had a Fisher stove in the den that my son had to put wood in when he was your nephew's age and he knew how to change a fuse in the older fuse boxes, too. Children today don't do much around the house, do they?

Where is Candice? Haven't heard from her in ages.

Mima 10-16-2006 07:17 AM

Good morning. In FL, they have a Pastor just for seniors too. He sure sounds like the right fit for your church, When we are in Fl-we go out after church in the morming and then again at night also. Miss that up here. But Brad and I went to Kmart and then to eat at the 99 Restaurant.
Yes I slept 9 hours straight. But not last night-couldn't find my ear plugs!
Chris-you are doing well. Sympathize with you about your stomache. Really, go to the Health store and get peppermint oil capsules. You can research their effectiveness on line.
I can wear shoes again!!!
We are noticing the cold a lot. That's why we went to FL early last year.
Joanne-don't worry about your durgery-it's almost over. Bye for now-Mima

Happy Canuk 10-16-2006 02:04 PM

I woke up to a lovely carpet of snow. It isn't much, but it is sticking to the ground and the trees in the Ravine. Not on the pavement. I guess it is that time of year. Seems early, but then we often have a snow fall before Halloween and then Indian summer comes along. I do hope that is the case. They are prediciting a very mild winter. Can't be much milder than last year. It has been a good 10 yrs since we had a ton of snow.

Good going on the weightloss Chris. There isn't enough bacteria culture in Yogurt to do much good. You have to take the probiotics to have a healthy "gut".

I do hope everybody who is having IBS flares is faring better today. That is just nasty. Haven't really had one for a couple of years (I say this with crossed fingers and toes).

Meme - I hope this new minister works out for your church. Seems like you have found a new home. I guess maybe it was meant to be. Like you, for some reason, I decided to stop taking all my supplements. I have now started again, upon going back to see the Naturpath and they seem to be helping. Calcium is so important.

Joanne - did you try a different church this past Sunday? I hope you are feeling lots better.

Tammy - Glad you had a good visit with Tim. Now that nephew should make it his business to learn stuff about life! His parents should be teaching him. My goodness, even my little 8 yr old gd knows how to turn up the temperature and make herself something to eat.

Candice - if you ever come to read, stop in and say hi! Have you moved yet? Seems ages since we heard from you.

Mima - Soon it will be time to leave. I guess your TG isn't until the end of Novemember though. My brother and SIL leave for Arizona on the 22 Oct. They bought a lot in Yuma and had a modular home put on it this past season. They only had 10 days in it so they are anxious to get back there. As I said before, people from Western Canada go to Arizona and people from Eastern Canada go to Florida. I suppose there are a few from each side that slip through the cracks:D

I grow up in northern New York and then lived for 12 years in Michigan. I can say I don't miss the snow at all. It is so strange here...the mention of snow in the forecast and everyone runs to the store for milk and bread. Then everything closes up...schools, colleges, banks, EVERYTHING. No one goes any where. Nine out of tem times we get NOTHING....not even a flake. And if it should happen to snow we might get an inch or 2 and it is gone in days. To me now snow is a 4 letter dirty word.

I have laid off the fruits for a few days and so far no more IBS attacks. I will slowly add them back into the diet. When I go to the new doc on November 2 I will see what he has to suggest about it.

Joanne D 10-16-2006 07:00 PM

Hey There

Happy- I talked to my Daughter-in-law. Found out that they were not happy at the church either. They thought we were and didn't want to say anything. I didn't go to church this past sunday. Next sunday if my eye feels ok we will go to another one.It is just 2 blocks away in the opposite direction of the one we were going to.It is earlier but that is ok.
Chris- Good weight loss.. Keep up the good work..
Tammy- Kids have so many other things on their minds that practical things just don't get there.Take away TV . vidio games, etc and it would be surprising what they would learn.
Meme- Hope the new minister works out.. I heard that the Baptist church I was going to had a youngish one with new ideas and they got rid of him. Just about all the members left too. I counted 22 people ,and that included the minister and small children ,Sunday. When we were singing ,I thought I was the only one there. I didn't hear anyone else. There were three ladies in front of me and two of them went to sleep.SAD.
Mima- Just 2 more days. My daughter said I will be leaning sideways. I just wish they would do both eyes at the same time and get it over with..
I still have my turkey in the yard. I heard he visits around the neighborhood. He has been here 2 days this time. I guess he likes the corn my hubby throws out. I call him he because I am not sure what sex he is. My neighbor thinks it is a male and my son-in-law says he is a female. He has lived in the country all his life so he may know more.
Joanne

Tammy 10-16-2006 09:57 PM

Mima, I am always spilling stuff on myself, so those bibs are a great idea!

Chris, good for you on the loss! Where did you live in Michigan? We go up almost every summer.

Meme, the new preacher sounds great, and so does your church!! Too bad I don't live closer. lol

Meme and Anne, I agree about my nephew not knowing how to do things. Just blows me away! He'll be in high school next year!!! Good grief! I'm so glad that he and his brother are in Boy Scouts. At least they get out and learn to do some things.

Joanne, I think what really got me with my nephew was that he brought a couple of toys (not the kind 8th graders play with) and he didn't know how to make the bed. I know he and his brother have video games, and they constantly watch TV. Tim always watched the History and Discovery channels. Maybe we were the ones raising the strange kid!! He also could do laundry in 4th grade. funny about the others not liking the church either!!! You all lucked out! that turkey better take off before Thanksgiving gets here!!!

WOW! the first topic I saw as I entered jumped out at me! FIBROMYALGIA! I was dx'd with this back in 1999 after suffering way too many years. I was just about ready to go to bed, but now I have to read these posts.

My weigh in tonight I made it to 20 lbs. lost, 10%!!! I am really pleased as can be.

Maybe tomorrow I will be able to spend some more time here.

Good morning and welcome to Fibro where it is permissable to whine and get it over with. Someone told us about a lady looking for an apt. now-checking it out-means maybe a week postponing-I have to say if it's God's will.
I am hurting and my stomache is not 100% but it's not bad. I think I will get a massage.
When a church loses memebers, there must be a reason. We are so happy in brad's new church-such nice people. We have to do something together that is God,s calling before the next meeting. I guess it will have to be simple because Brad is working 6 days a week. he is going to work with the plumber to install a boiler at his church. They have electric heat and it is too expensive. Think I can pipe ??
Give me a simple idea.
Mima

MemeToo 10-17-2006 02:17 PM

Happy Canuk 10-17-2006 02:25 PM

Hi girls.

Joyful - welcome to our thread. Hope you feel at home here.

Mima - Sounds like Brad keeps busy. Didn't he retire at some point?

Chris - I live in Canada, so I HAVE to like the snow. It is a very long winter otherwise. Actually, I quite like winter and it is very dry where I live, so I feel good when it is cold and dry.

Don't know much. Got my house cleaned up yesterday, so now I am FREE!:carrot: I am heading out to the Mall for a bit and then to visit a friend that just got diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis and is looking at surgery down the road. She really has had a bad time of it lately.

Hope you all have a good day.

CarebearsChris 10-17-2006 03:16 PM

Welcome to the group joyful. I am fairly new myself but find it a geat place to be.

I find that I am less tolerant of the cold and snow now that I have been down here in Virginia for 6 years. Years ago 50 felt warm, now it is so cold. At 50 I am all bundled up like it is freezing out.

I am really stressing today. Must likely because it is rainy and cold (53) today. I need to go to the store but keep putting it off. Now I am making excuses as to why I don't need to go. I am struggling not to eat...I really want to sit on the couch, watch a movie and PIG out.

I am addicted to the scales...every time I am in the bathroom I step on them. The past 2 days I have been up 2 pounds (272 instead of 270). By noon I am back down to 270 and then go up some after that. I can't understand why I have gained the weight in the morning and then loss it. I am staying on program completely. I am not getting as much walking in as I would like, but that shouldn't give me a gain. I am at a loss and really bummed out by it.

Tammy 10-17-2006 08:37 PM

Chris, when we were kids we always went to Grand Haven most summers. Now we head for Mackinaw City. Stopping in Frankenmuth is always fun too. I starting aching yesterday when the rain started, and it has lasted most of today. I was glad it was an off day because I slept off and on most of the day. Don't be bummed by the scales (easier said than done)!! You are doing great!!

Welcome to joyful!!!

Hello to everyone!

Mima 10-18-2006 06:17 AM

Good morning. Chris, when everything I ate bothered me, I ate applesauce and peaches that were in a little container. Wondering if that would help the IBS?
Cleaned a bit outside yesterday-tired today. Going to the podiatrist. Now I am tired of cleaning-maybe I will walk tomorrow,
It's freezing here-. Meme-did you get some bad weather.
One more day Joanne. Prayers for you. Mima

Happy Canuk 10-18-2006 12:59 PM

Good morning. Well at least there is NO snow today. The snow that did fall is long gone and we are on our way to a couple of nice days again. They tell us it is supposed to be a mild winter, as Elnino is playing again in the Pacific Ocean. Hope they are right!

Chris - the body fluctuates during the day, holding on to fluid. That is why they say to weigh in at the same time - ONCE A WEEK!!!! Don't do this to yourself. If you are addicted, then toss out the scale. You will know you are still losing by how your clothes are fitting.

Joanne - Tomorrow it will be over and done and you will be able to see again. My neighbor had this done, one eye at a time and she was 82. Said she could now see, and she could see where she had missed cleaning :dizzy: Anyway, both times all was well and she was fine. I know you will be as well.

Mima - hope you get to walk tomorrow. I am going to go to the mall later so I will be walking as well.

Here is a site that has an exercise DVD called FIBROGA. The lady couldn't do yoga with a fibro body, so she worked with a yoga instructor and came up with yoga for fibromyalgia people. Take a look.

Joanne D 10-18-2006 02:06 PM

Hey There

5 pm tomorrow they will do the L eye. Nov.2 the r eye.. I'm not worried..
Chris- Don't panic with the scale.. My weight goes up and down all week. Water balance. You will get there. Just keep doing what you are doing..
Welcome myjoy... We have a good group here..
Hello everybody...Joanne

Tammy 10-18-2006 09:42 PM

Joanne, plenty of prayers will be with you tomorrow! Take care!! Do what the doctor says!!!

I stayed home today and slept. Did the same thing yesterday. Bob slept most of the day Monday. I assumed my problem was the fibro, but we've decided that we've had a bug of some kind. Headaches for both of us, and some tummy pains. Tomorrow is an "at Home" day, and I am glad. I went to the Y tonight for the water aerobics. I seriously thought that I could fall asleep in the pool!

CarebearsChris 10-18-2006 11:36 PM

I would like to thank everyone for their kind words while I have battle the scale issue. I was so freaked out about a gain that it was killing me. BUT I got to thinking about it. When I weighed in at 270 I just had a bad IBS day and my body was completely cleaned out (if you know what I mean). There was nothing in my system. So of course once I started eating and had a full system I weighed more. Makes sense now...but didn't then. I am completely over the trauma now. I haven't been walking. It has been raining here and the SAD (seasonal affective disorder) was kickin in high gear. Today was a nice sunny day and I felt better today. I hear we are in for more rain so the blues will be back I am sure.

Joann--What are you having done to your eyes? I wish you well with that.

MemeToo 10-19-2006 12:40 AM

Hi Joyful. Welcome.

I agree about the ups and downs ... I get them a lot!

Yep, had a lot of bad weather. Had a good day today but about to have another bad one tomorrow - more rain. Went to Chattanooga with daughter to take Ross back to Dr. today. Got some shopping and lunch in after. Nice. Enjoyed that. Bought some things for Kaylyn's BD coming up in a couple of weeks. Can't believe she'll be 9 (son's daughter). She's so dramatic about everything so I got her a shirt that says 'Drama Queen' on it and another shirt that's the new 'wrinkled' material and has the little vest like top that ties in front with sequins all over it. Also got her some expensive low cut panties with designs on them at Penney's. (I bought Jenna - my 7 yr. old GD who was with me - some, too. She was so excited.) Love shopping for those little girls. They won't be little long! Then I bought a Christmas CD for my church Choir. Beautiful music. Hope we can learn it by Christmas along with the Cantata we are learning for Dec. 17th. I bought one for the youth Choir, too. Come to think of it, the only thing I bought for myself this time is some mint foot cream. I DONE GOOD! :D (But boy, am I ever tired!)

Mima 10-19-2006 06:31 AM

I want to go to your Cantata, Meme!!!
Prayers for you Joanne.
I think a truck ran over me-probably a sinus thing-don't think I will go to Auntie's today but I may force myself to walk.
Don't klnow if this is going to work out, but we heard of someone interested in the apt. Told that she was weird because she listened to Christian music all day. Guee that would correspond with the Southern Gospel station I listen to.
Anne, I am very interested in the yoga tape. I was into yoga big time til the fibro came along.Actually, ripped my rotator cuff doing a video. Because I overstretched.
Chris, my gf only weighs herself once in a while and goes by how her clothes fit. Which means I have gained because my clothes are tight again!!. I have been bad. If you have IBS, don't go grocery shopping after you drink plum juice with magnesium. Haha!!
Bye Mima

Happy Canuk 10-19-2006 07:18 PM

Hello to everybody.

Meme - You are such a busy bee. Always on the go. It is getting to that time of year I guess - thinking of Christmas. Ashley falls into the same age as your gdaughters. I saw a cute little skirt and sweater set at Sears that I am going to get for her. The sweater set consists of a shell and a long sleeved tie at the diaphram sweater. Cute and it has some glitter, which all the little girly girls like. I, also, got the kids FLOAM.

http://www.buyfloam.com/?cid=132025

It says it is for kids, but teenagers like it to, so I got it.

Mima - hope you feel better. Seems like once something gets better, something else erupts.

Joanne - hope all went well for you today and that you are feeling good.

Chris - IBS is so terrible. Hope it has cleared up for you now. Coffee, sugar, and Bran are what set me off most of the time. Eating lots of veggies, and 3 fruit a day seem to be ok.

Tammy - hope you ad hubby are feeling better today. Some nasty viruses around this time of year.

Who gets the flu shot here? I don't think I am going to have one this year. Only had one last year for the first time.

Went for a 1 hr. massage this morning, followed by a chiro treatment. Feeling pretty good, although it is starting to stiffen up a bit. A nice warm bath later will help that out.

Hope everybody has a nice evening.

Tammy 10-19-2006 09:21 PM

Did quite a bit of sleeping again today, but I think we are better than we were. I'm going to school in the morning.

Meme, the shopping trip sound great! Good for you on getting some nice things.

Mima, I listen to Christian music too, so I guess I'm kind of weird.

Anne, I've never gotten a flu shot. The massage and chiro sound good. Maybe I need to call and get an appointment.

MemeToo 10-20-2006 12:49 AM

Gee ... what does that make me??? I SING Christian music!!! :p

You are all invited to our Cantata. It will be 10:30 A.M, Sun., Dec. 17th at Friendship Church of God. As incentive, if you come, I will take you out to lunch! :D

I'm trying not to be so busy. I've been hurting so bad lately that I've stopped doing a lot of unnecessary 'stuff'. Today I didn't do hardly anything. Hubby came home a cooked dinner ... under much protest. I feel extreemly guilty when he does that. But he wouldn't let me do anything. I suggested he go get some subs but he wanted to cook ...

It is raining again. Supposed to clear off tomorrow afternoon but more coming in on Sunday. It has turned cold, too. Don't like cold!

I did walk yesterday and I didn't get pains. I was feeling better by noon. Probably could have gone to Aunties. I am getting a massage today!! She is wonderful.
I hope you are well today, Joanne. I already prayed.
I wish we would hear about the lady renting-Brad is going full steam ahead. If he is going to finish it regardless, we want to get someone in there.
It's raining and it's cold. Glad when this is done so we can get to FL. Mima

I get a flu hot every year. (except a couple of years ago when there was a major shortage of them). I used to be the one giving them back when I was able to work. Now it isn't a proven side effect but it is for me....if I get a cold it will only last a couple of days and be on the mild side. Last "bad" cold I had was the year I couldn't get the shot.

Stressing

All week I have been stressing. This past Sunday I WI'ed at 270 (down 20 pounds from where I started at). Monday I stepped on the scales (as I do everytime I am in the bathroom...bad habit I am now trying to break) and I had gained 2 pounds. I was freaking out. All week I have maintained at 272. I have been walking...some not as much as week before. This morning the scales still said 272. But the funny thing is it said 272 EVERY time I stepped on them. No increase during the day...which is odd. Well this morning around 10 I got on them again and got E for error. Put a new battery in it, still got E. So I figured the scales died...I would do if someone as big as me stepped on me all that much. So I went and got a Weight Watchers scale. I love it....only thing is now I am at 275.6. So I am going to see what it is in the morning. I will leave my weight loss at 20 pounds until the scales actually have me back at 270. And I won't stress out over what it says.

EAsier said then done

Meme, I would love to come to the Cantata. If I didn't already have plans that weekend, I'd seriously consider it! That's the weekend that my shopping buddies and I go away and stay in a bed and breakfast and shop till we drop. Let your hubby cook!! Bob cooks meals a lot of the time.

Mima, glad you are doing better! It is pretty cool here today. The sun was shining though, so that made it bearable.

Chris, isn't it odd how scales weigh so differently? I like my scales better than those at the doctor's office!!

I made it to school today, but I was sooooooooooo sleepy. The principal observed me this morning. I told him that I might have to take a nap while he was there. He said he would join me.

Hope Joanne is getting along ok today!!

Mima 10-21-2006 07:26 AM

Tammy, sure hope you feel good enough to enjoy the weekend.
I strongly encourage the flu shots-have even got Brad to get them because if he gets sick, then we all suffer.
Yesterday, I couldn't find my keys-asked Brad to pray, finally found them in my jeans pocket were in the wash, called the masseuse and said I would be late. Got there 15 minutes late for an APPOINTMENT I DIDN'T HAVE TIL NEXT WEEK! The person who gave me an appt and I didn't communicate well the day before. Anyhow, I was disappointed and now I have 5 appointments next week. Boobs, hair, foot, chiro, and massage. And i have to fit in a walk with Auntie. Too funny.
I hope I get that video quick-I will let you know how it is,
Hope you are ok Joanne.
What is going on with the new pastor, Meme.
Chris-all scales are different . It will work out when you use the same scale all the time. Daily-not all day long. Or weekly. My gf is so happy she lost some weight. i believe she needs to lose at least a 100 and she is having trouble with her knee.
Gotta bake cookies for the Pastor's appreciation party tomorrow, They are having a party at my church for the nun who was there for 17 years and the new Pastor didn't want to hire her back.
Bye for now, Mima

Hey There

I am doing ok,just can't see that well yet. They gave me a bunch of stuff to relax me. Now my stomach isn't doing so good. IBS big time.. I just feel poopy.. Thanks for thinking of me...Joanne

Good morning.

Mima - busy as usual. Looks like your next week will be keeping you going. I HATE when I go for an appointment and find out I don't have one:o I think that happens to everybody at some point.

I have read so many things about flu shots, and the one thing I have read is that if you have 8-10 your chances of Alzheimers increases. There has to be a common thread for this, as so MANY more seniors over the past years, have gotten this. I rarely GET sick, so I think I will take my chances. I had one last year, and this year my blood work shows METALs. There is Mercury and Aluminum in a flu shot. So - NO THANKS!!

The video should be there by Monday, I believe. They send it really fast. Let me know how it is, please. I want to get it as well, but if there is lots of twisting in it, then it is going to be a no-no.

Chris - you are not alone. I was down 3 pounds, ate NOTHING different than what I was, and not I have gained them back! Makes me soooo mad and sad. Oh well, no choice but to keep on going.

Tammy - gosh, hope you are feeling better by the time Monday rolls around. Those viruses can be nasty. The Norwalk Flu is making it's rounds through Nursing Homes and the University. Now, that IS a nasty one.

Joanne - sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope by the time the weekend is over, you will be much better. That darn IBS always is a bummer.

Meme - Hope things are going ok for you. We are also have cold and rainy weather and that is just plain horrid for arthritis. Everything that can hurt - does. Just hang in there.

Going to Edmonton this afternoon. It's my daughter's birthday today, and my son had his second anniversary this past week. Now, I will have to try pack two days into one!!

Everybody have a nice day.

Tammy 10-21-2006 09:58 PM

Mima, I'm feeling better than I did earlier in the week, but Bob sounds awful. I told him to stay away from me. I don't need a cold or whatever he has or is getting. Oh no about your appointment!! You sure will be busy next week!

Great to hear from you Joanne!! Just take it easy!!

Anne, I hope you had a nice visit!

I went to Ball State and watched the football game today, but I left after the band finished their halftime show. Bob didn't go since he was feeling so miserable. I know he really didn't want me to go alone, but I was ok with it. Gave me some time to just think on the drive over and back. Tim and Jess came home after the game because tomorrow is a 50th anniversary party for Jess's grandparents.

Mima 10-22-2006 06:24 AM

Good morning! I sure am achy when I get up but it seems to get better as the day progresses . I lay down in the afternoon and put heat on my back. That sure feels good.
Glad you are better, tammy.
Joanne, I hope you feel better soon. I prayed for you.
Anne, sounds like a fun weekend, if not tiring.
I am so happy, I got invited to do more work in November. This will be an IBS,is the acupunture working test. I have to eat right-no cookies in the afternoon-I will bring my own.
We went to a new restaurant last night-The prices were so reasonable-a Scottish Pub. I had haddock and you could even get a smaller portion.
Baked cookies for the Pastor's party. And some for Sr, Nancy who was given a party yesterday by my church.
Hi Chris.
Bye for now, Mima
