Tammy 10-22-2006 09:31 AM

I can relate to the morning achiness. Most days mine does get better as the day progresses, and then there are those other days! The new restaurant sounds nice. There are a couple new places near here that we haven't tried yet, but we've heard good things.

Cool and rainy today. It's supposed to be in the 40's all week. I really don't think I'm ready for winter to get here.

CarebearsChris 10-22-2006 11:58 AM

First I would like to thank every one for the support you have given me this week as I stresed out over the scales. I am now accepting the gact that scales read 4 pounds more then they did last Sunday. I think it is a combination of 2 things....1 new scales being calibrated differently than the old ones and 2 not walking much this week and not measuring my food. I was looking at this as such a set back it was just tearing me up. But I am over that now. So I will loss the same pounds all over again.

Tammy--it has been an up and down week here with the weather. Beginning of the week it was cold and cloudy. Middle of the week it was in the high 70s. Now we are back to cold again (48 right now). I just wish it would make up its mind what it wants to do.

Joann--hoping you are doing better today. What did you have done to your eye? I think I read you are having the other eye done soon.

Mima--you had acupunture done. How is it working?

Hope everyone is having a pain-free day.

Joanne D 10-22-2006 07:27 PM

Hey There

Chris- I had cataract surgery on my left eye.. Nov.2 the R ight eye I have felt better. I think whatever they gave me made me have upset stomach...I can eat. I guess I am ok.:D
Hello Everybody.I went to another church. Presbyterian, What a difference! I really enjoyed the service. I say some friends of mine that made us feel very welcome.. People we didn't know even were very nice..Ofcourse everyone knew my son and his wife..The church is only 3 blocks from my house..I am not at all sorry to not see that other church again. It was a depressing place.
Till tomorrow...Joanne

Tammy 10-22-2006 07:45 PM

Chris, I'm sure that the 4 pounds is because of the new scales. All scales seem to weigh differently. Don't give up!! You've done great!

Joanne, I'm sure you are right about what they gave you giving you the upset stomach. I am so glad you checked out a different church and you like it!!!! And only 3 blocks from your house is a bonus!! I'm glad you don't have to go back to the other one.

Tim will be leaving in about an hour. I'm driving him to a McDonalds in a town part way for him and Jess to meet to go back to school. He'll be home next weekend for their fall break, so I probably won't cry as much when he leaves. lol

MemeToo 10-23-2006 01:38 AM

Well ... and there you have it. Sometimes change is good and sometimes not. When not, in the case of the scale, you just have to get used to it and life must go on ... and on ... and on. But there is always a bright spot somewhere on the horizon if you will just look for it ... if you don't see it soon then get out your yellow Crayola's and go make your own! :D And ... as in the case of some, if you don't have a life, get out and make that, too! You only get one you know. :p

There ... after all those profound thoughts, I guess I'll just take my smart self and go to bed. Maybe I'll 'dream up' some more! ;)

I hope you lovely ladies have an astronomical week!!! You each one deserve it. And remember ... it's YOUR life and YOUR body ... you can do anything you want to with it. (Here's a little help!)

Tammy 10-23-2006 06:33 AM

Meme, I have to totally agree with your profound thoughts. There have been so many times over the past couple of years with the school issues and health issues that made me want to give up on it all. Somehow I found some bright spots even though I was still hurting when I found them!! lol

Have a great week to all of you. I'm up and checking messages before I head for the shower. Priorities, you know????

Mima 10-23-2006 07:13 AM

It gets better, tammy.
I am having acupuncture for IBS and it seems to be working. Except yesterday when I ate a granola bar-I think oats are not good for me. With severe diverticulosis I never know which is which.
Glad about your eye and the church, Joanne. When you get into a nice church, it just gets better, right Meme?
Definitely, scales are different and it's so easy to get out of the habit of measuring. I figured out that I ate too much. I did go for a walk yesterday but the asthma kicked up-I ate wheat and that gives me congestion.
Angela and Brett announced that it was their first year anniversary and I remebered the card I bought 2 weeks ago and still was in the bag!!!
Hope your weekend was nice, Anne.
Going to wash the other half of the stairway and get my teeth cleaned today-washed one half at a time so you could still use them . I am too smart for my own good-haha!!
Mima

Tammy 10-24-2006 06:17 AM

Mima, glad the acupuncture is working!! You sound like me with card!! I bought a card to send to Tim and then I couldn't find it. So I bought another one, and of course, I found the first one. You are so smart about the stairway!!!

Off day for me. I have a doctor's appoinment at Noon. Doing x-rays of the lower back to check about giving me shots to ease the arthritis pain. Doesn't sound like fun, but neither is the pain.

have a great day everyone!!

Mima 10-24-2006 06:42 AM

Don't get too many shots-depending on what kind. I heard that if you keep getting shots in your knees it does something(like break down the cartilage?) don't remember-hope you feel better. I haven't gotten my video yet.
Goy my teeth cleaned-what's left of them . Hadn't been there for 3 years-already made the appt for next year.
Gas was 2.07-yeah!!
Our FL ins went up almost 600 so now it's almost 1900. Considering our mobile home is only worth 34,5000 it does seem ridiculous-we are paying for last year's hurricanes. We are definitely going to try to get it lower, Problem is no one wants to write insurance for mobile homes man. in 1975.
Had a dream I spent so much time getting the house cleaned, I forgot to make enough food for company.
Bye for now. Mima

Happy Canuk 10-24-2006 10:19 AM

Hi Tammy and Mima.

Mima - glad the acupuncture is helping the IBS. Wow!! that is some expensive insurance, that is for sure. It sure is nice to see those gas prices falling, I must admit.

Tammy - enjoy your day off! Even if it IS at the Dr. Probably he will give you Facet Joint Injections or an Epidural. Both are ok. You can get the Facet Injections as often as you need to. Cortisone wears out the joint in the long run, but like the Dr. told me, It would be a good thing in the back. They did help me out a bit, but only for such a short time. Everybody is different and those few days without pain were like HEAVEN.

I am off to work. Wish me luck. First full day!! Yikes, I don't know WHAT I was thinking!!!!

Have a nice day.

CarebearsChris 10-24-2006 04:47 PM

My best friend has been out of town and hasn't heard my woes with the scale last week. I told her that I haven't lost 20 that the new scales weighed me 4 pounds heavier. She said why on earth would you take the 4 pounds away from what you lost and not add them to where you started. Since I started in September the old scales most likely weighed me 4 pounds less. So I am once again happy to have a 20 pound loss and not 16.

Tammy 10-24-2006 06:40 PM

Mima, I wish the gas prices were much lower, but it has been better than it was.
Yikes to the Florida insurance!!

The x-rays showed arthritis, and I go back on Thursday for an injection in 2 spots. Can't remember what it is called, but it is one that won't harm the area. He also said he can't guarantee 100% that it will work. I understand that. When I had the injections in the knees in January, it was only supposed to be good for 4-5 months. My knees were ok until sometime in September, so I was very lucky. Hoping for the same here.

The day off was pretty good because it was sunny! Bob is still miserable with his cold, that I almost wanted to leave when I got home. He goes to the doctor in the morning for a checkup that was already scheduled. He had blood tests that they are going to go over. Kind of nervous about them, but I'm not letting him know that.

Anne, how was your first day??????????????????

Chris, I agree about the 20. I started WW last week, and I'm not getting rid of the weight on my tracker that I had already lost. Of course I had gained a couple of those back, so I might as well have started over. lol

Joanne D 10-24-2006 07:22 PM

Hey There

Tammy- WW is a good program.. I belong to Tops. Many people use WW program but come to Tops for the support.. It is less expensive and you can get the same results. I say it is all up to them. They weight in once a week the same as WW. I have lost 74 lbs. between the two and so far kept it off almost 5 years..I had a series of back injections a few years ago. They helped me a lot. I went to a chiropractor a while back and he was great. Very gentle. No bone cracker there. My back feels pretty good . I will always have some pain but nothing like I used to have.I have osteoarthritis. I can't begin to tell you how many times my hubby has hauled me to the hospital because I could not stand the pain let alone walk.Hope The injections help you.
Chris- Don't let the scales rule your life.. I get on one time a day, first thing in the morning, before coffee. That is your true weight. Keep doing the things you know are good for you and you will get to your goal.
Mima- Our insurance Alstate is pulling out of Fl. We have been with them over 30 years. We have to buy somewhere else. My hubby is almost not wanting to get any. Ofcourse we know that is not wise.
Happy- You are still a young chick.. I am sure you did well with your full day.
Meme- I like your profound thoughts. They are so true. That is what life is all about. We make the best of what God gives us.. I always say. What doesn't kill me will make me stronger.Ofcourse there have been times lately that had to wonder if I was stronge enough for the challenge.
Everyday my distance sight seems better in my left eye. I know there may be a week or more that I am going to be very upset trying to see close. I have to wait until both eyes are ready to get reading glasses. I am not a good waiter.R eye surgery Nov.2.
Joanne

Tammy 10-24-2006 09:36 PM

Joanne, I seriously considered TOPS. I would have to drive a ways to a meeting, and the WW is right here in town. I think I'm going to start with it, stick with it for a while, and then in the future check out TOPS again. I'm glad to know that the injections helped you. A friend of mine has had them, and she was very pleased. I wouldn't be very patient about the eyes either!!

CarebearsChris 10-24-2006 09:43 PM

Well another day is done. This week I am back to the treadmill. Yesterday and today I have walked 15 minutes. 3-5 minutes at a time. It was sunny so that helps with the SAD. Oh the h$!! I am going thru to get the right light box for it. I don't think anyone at Apria as any idea what they are doing. It feels good not to be worrying about what the scales say each time I am in the bathroom. I am getting on them once a day now..first thing in the morning.

Joanne--I didn't know an insurance company could do that...just pull out of an area because it was hard hit with hurricanes. That just doesn't seem right at all.

Happy--How was the first day?

Tammy--Hope you get some relief with the injections. I have had cortisone shots in my back several times, as well as both knees. They help nicely. But I am told you can't have them very often. We will have to see what this new doctor says on the 2nd about that. Oh how I hate new doctors.

Mima--I haven't had my teeth cleaned in forever. I know I need to but I also know they will tell me I need a ton of work done and I can't afford right now, even with dental insurance.

Hope everyone stays warm and has a pain free day.

Happy Canuk 10-24-2006 10:53 PM

I made it through the first day!! My whole back is so tired, but it will get used to it after a bit. It was like that when I first started working part-time. After a couple of weeks, the muscles adjusted. Hope that is the case. I enjoyed being there all day, actually.

Joanne - Yes, I am still a young chick:carrot: with a really weak back:dizzy: Hope your eyes don't drive you crazy before you get everything tweaked. Insurance companies are a big "bug" for me. Haven't much use for them, but you are almost forced to get insurance.

Chris - you are doing great with the program you made yourself. Keep at it and soon the pounds will be gone. You are not alone, as I am doing this right along with you, as is Tammy. WE WILL SUCCEED!!!

Tammy - Hope the injections help you. Seems like you take to cortisone if it helped your knee. Good luck. Getting rid of pain, anyway you can, is a bonus.

Meme - such profound wisdom Loved that. Thanks for sharing.

Have a good night everybody.

MemeToo 10-25-2006 01:35 AM

Y'all are just too funny talkin' about my profound wisdom ... 'bout the only 'wisdom' in this here body is the three furthermost teeth in the back of my mouth. :D (Fourth one didn't come in!)

Chris ... I wondered why you didn't just add the 4 pounds to what you weighed when you started since the new scales weighed 4 pounds heavier instead of taking the 4 pounds the scale was off from the 20 you already lost. I mean, just because the scales don't weigh the same doesn't mean you didn't still lose 20 pounds! Just keep it slow and steady this time! ;)

Joann, I don't have much patience when it comes to waiting, either. And I hate it when I can't see stuff. I love these new progressive lenses I got a couple of months ago. I can see so much better with them.

Anne, hope your back can take the strain of working 'almost' full time. I know my muscles and bones couldn't take it.

Tammy ... hope your hubby is feeling better now and hope the injections help you. I have them in my ankle from time to time. Sometimes they help and sometimes they don't. Right now I have costochondritis back again ... inflammation of the sternum and upper ribs. Nothing the doc can really do about that so guess there's no use going! Just take my aleve and wait for it to go away. Very painful.
HI MIMA!

More rain coming in tomorrow night and Thursday. JOY!

Mima 10-25-2006 06:21 AM

I think the cold and all the work I have been doing has really affected me.Chiro and Podiatrist today. We will find out soon if that lady is really interested in the apt. Otherwise, we will head to FL. There's got to be a way to save money on the insurance.
I agree with adding 4 lbs to your original wt. Chris. Just take it one day at a time.
Glad your eye is improving.Joanne. I am going to work 6 days -at different times and I am concerned about the night driving since the clocks change.
Tammy, it must have been the cortisone shots-glad you have something else. The cortisone only lasts 2 weeks. Last one I had was in my knuckle after painting the trim on the house. It worked but I also stopped painting.
Hope the working works out, Anne, Glad you have today off.
It's hard for others to imagine the pain we have!!!! Meme, we are haing the rain on FRiday.
I actually wrapped presents yesterday-or put them in pretty Christmas bags. Love that Dollar store!!.
Bye for now, Mima

Tammy 10-25-2006 10:25 PM

Chris, I'm sure the shots for the back aren't cortisone. I know that I had that in my knees though. Good for you for only doing the scales once a day!

Anne, glad you made it through the first day!! Just don't overdo it, ok?

Meme, Bob is still pretty puny, and now I think that he's trying to give it to me! I want him to keep it!! I don't want it!! We're supposed to be getting rain the rest of the week also.

Mima, lol about painting! When we moved to my parent's house, we painted all of the rooms before we moved in. When we moved here, we hired it done. I don't think we'll ever paint again. I need to get busy on the shopping sometime. I keep saying it, but I really need to get some things. I love the Dollar store too!

Off to bed!

Happy Canuk 10-25-2006 10:42 PM

Here's some good old music for you to listen to while you read.

http://www.pcdon.com/pop-country.HTML

I went for a massage today - back should feel BETTER, but it hurts. I hope I can last 2 more days at work :dizzy: Once the pain starts to take over, that is when I give it up and go back to my casual shifts. I hope this is just because it is new and needs an adjustment time.

Chris - set your scale back 4 pounds if it will help you to feel better about it. You know you lost 20 pounds so it doesn't make any difference what THIS scale says.

Have a nice night.

MemeToo 10-26-2006 03:42 AM

UGH! Shopping. Middle granddaughter will be 9 Sat. and all I have bought so far is the 2 tops & undies I got in Chattanooga the other day. I had to go to town and run some errands today ... just did what I absolutely had to. Don't feel like shopping. I don't even know what she wants.

Anne ... massages hurt me when I first get them, too.

Well ... the new minister is coming the first of the year. At least 75% of the people are happy! ;) I just hope everybody joins together and backs him now that it is settled ... whether they voted for or against him. We need to stand united or we will fall! A house divided against itself cannot stand. I've lived through too many of those tragedies. These people seem to have a lot of good sense so maybe they will come together for the good of the church.

Guess I'll stay in bed tomorrow - it's supposed to rain most of the day.

Mima 10-26-2006 06:13 AM

Brad always says that there are lots of opinions in a church. my church , we don't get to pick. But I have been known to move to a different church if i don't like it.
Hope you are well, Joanne.
My fingers on my left hand are painful. That's a new pain. When i cleaned the carpet, I think I bore down on them.
Oh, I got the fibro DVD and I played it last night. Didn't want to overdo it because I had just gone to the chiro and he helped my back. there were a couple of twists that I just didn't do. In the end, you get on the floor. I think it will be helpful if I can take it easy. I like that it's a DVD. No rewinding!!
I don't like to shop when I don't know what people want. Maybe cd's. 9 is a transition-too old for dolls-too young for teeny bopper stuff!
Lady that is interested in apt is coming tonight, mainly to see the location since we are in another town. The city where she lives has a lot of trouble-like murders etc. I don't care one way or the other if she takes it. God's will. She is a Christian -yeah!!!
Supposed to go with Auntie.
Angela needs a babysitter next Friday am,2 kids for 2 and a half hours. I wish I had some baby equipment since Keith is 5 months now!!!!!
Bye for now. Mima

Tammy 10-26-2006 07:16 PM

Anne, I hope you aren't overdoing it. The massage should help. Take it easy!!

Meme, I tend to do alot of shopping on the internet. Rarely go shopping anymore except with my shopping buddies at Christmas. Keep us posted on your new minister. Hope those that didn't want him grow to like him.

Mima, moral of the story = don't clean the carpet. lol Let us know about the woman about the apartment. I can't blame her for wanting to get away from where she lives.

First official weigh-in at WW tonight. -5 pounds. I was thrilled!

Doctor's visit wasn't the best today. They ran into a problem with another patient, so they were over an hour late for me. I was a nervous wreck. They finally came in and gave me a shot to relax me. When they finally did the procedure, the shots to numb the back hurt worse than the actual injections. I'm supposed to call them on Monday, and let them know how I'm doing. I'm sure I'll notice over the weekend whether it is working or not.

Mima 10-27-2006 05:41 AM

Hope it works, Tammy. I was at the podiatrists for over an hour-they overbook. Other docs take you as you come in.
The lady was nice but I really wish we could just go to FL the Sun after Thanksgiving, She will let us know by next FRi. I really don;t think she will take it. It would be better if a man was in here. It's in God's hands.
I did the DVD again. It is good stretching but something is aggravating my rib muscles and I don't do the twisting. But I have a massage at one and a boob job at 2:30/ That would be a mammogram. Hope it's ok.
I wish i could get a shot that would numb my whole body. Yes, I am going to take it easy on the cleaning. I will use the mop to do the hardwoods.
Marriage group tonight.
How is your eye, Joanne. Meme. are you out shopping? And how are you Chris and Anne-I know Anne is working. Bye for now, Mima

MemeToo 10-27-2006 02:56 PM

No shopping for me today ... it's pouring here. I had to go out and sell a trailer to some idiot in the rain yesterday. I'm NOT doing that today. If some fool wants to stand out there and take a shower today, he can do it alone; I'll hand him some shampoo out the door! :p I'm sitting here watching reruns of the A Team while washing and drying clothes ... I think MR T is rubbing off on me "fool"! ;)

I'm for the shot to numb the whole body! That would be the thing!!! :D

As for the cleaning ... I think I will bypass that this weekend ... maybe I'll just get hubby to do some of it and let the rest go. Sounds like a plan.

Have a great weekend y'all!

Tammy 10-27-2006 05:47 PM

Mima, I actually was able to bend over today without pain. What a great feeling! I hope you get that apartment rented soon. I know you'll feel much better when it is.

Meme, it has been raining all day here too. I can't believe someone was there to buy a trailer in the rain! Why couldn't he come on a nice day. LOL to Mr. T.

Tim is home for the weekend. Fall break. He doesn't go back until Tuesday night. The dog was thrilled to see him. Me too of course!!

Mima 10-28-2006 06:22 AM

Thanks for sending the rain this way, Meme. Hope it's over for you.And Tammy.
Great massage and then the mammo-I guess it's ok.Don't thimk the doc reads them til after.
Marriage group was so great. WE had to write down one word that described our parents marriage-mine was turbulent and Brad's was tumultous. I wasn't alone in an abusive situation but there were others who were brought up in Christian homes. I love it.
We are going to a seminar tonight with Brett and Angela about bringing up Godly children in an unGodly world.
I think there will be only a little more work to be done on the apt.-Too much left. We will have to tell the lady who probably doesn't want it anyways. I don't think it's right for her. They fixed the plumbing which needed to be done and they will pour the cement floor so it can be tiled. Brad has to finish his jobs-he is not realistic about how much he can do.
But we finally have a front porch light.
Bye for now Mima

CarebearsChris 10-28-2006 08:43 AM

Good morning, everyone. Hope every one is having a pain free day. I am going to the youth bowling league Halloween Party and I would rather stay home. Just not a good day. I am suppose to dress up as a clown. Not so sure that is going to happen. It rained yesterday, windy today and COLD.

Tammy 10-28-2006 04:08 PM

The rain stopped, but now the wind is blowing something fierce! At least the sun is shining today. Kind of a lazy day today, but after so much going on the past week, it was nice to do nothing for once.

Mima, glad the marriage group went well. I don't think I could ever talk Bob into attending a group meeting like that.

Hi Chris! Since the injections on Thursday, my back pain is little or none which is wonderful! I'm not used to being able to do anything without hurting in the lower back. It will take some getting used to. lol

Bob just went to the grocery. I had planned to go, but he said that I sound like I'm getting what he had, and he knows how worn out I'll be since I'm still working.

Mima 10-29-2006 04:38 AM

Tammy, get some zinc lozenges at Walmart at the first sign of getting sick-my gf and I swear by them.
We went to a seminar on raising Godly children in an UnGodly world!! Brad and I felt guilty listening to what she said but there is hope for us with our grandchildren. Brett and Angela were there and we went to support them.
But the clocks changed and I woke up at 3:30-have to go through the adjustment now-this will throw off my whole day. Brad is sound asleep though!!!
We had the rain but not much wind yet. Supposed to though.
Angela asked if we were going to her mother's bd party? I got the invite 2 months ago and don't know where it is!!! Thinking we will stop in later. Of course I don't have a gift!!!
Brad is making me call that lady and tell her the apt. won't be done! I really don't mind-I need to be in FL.
There is a direct link to my pain and eating wheat-probably sugar too. Ate cake. Love that the shot is working, Tammy!!! The back is so painful. The massage helped my rib pain big time. But I want to do the yoga and I don't want it to come back!!!
Anne-hope you are ok, Last time you were hurting!! Hi Joanne and Meme-and where is Candace. we need an update. Hi Chris!!! Mima

Tammy 10-29-2006 07:33 PM

Mima, someone else just mentioned the zinc lozenges. Kramer was all messed up this morning with the time change. Now I need to get him adjusted to the new time, or he'll have me up too early every morning. We went shopping for a while after church, and it was so nice not having to stop and sit down all the time to rest the back.

Tim and Bob are planning lots of chores for tomorrow while Tim is home. He goes back on Tuesday. I think I'm glad I'll be at school tomorrow. lol

MemeToo 10-30-2006 12:37 AM

I only changed half of my clocks and now I don't know what time it is half the time ... this is terrible. I keep looking at a clock and wondering, "did I change that one or not. Is it 10 or is it only 9 ... or maybe it is 11." I seriously need to set all my clocks to the right time!!! (I'm such a ditz!)

Mima 10-30-2006 06:02 AM

Happy to have slept til 5-normal for me. I am happy about your back,Tammy.
We are definitely wrapping it up around here. The wind was awful yesterday and we actually had snow flurries. Had to go to Angela's for her mother's 50th-Brad's ex was there-no barbs this time. She loves that baby. It's hard for them because they lost their first son named Keith tragically.Brad said the baby should be named Ziggy because he has a round head.
Hope you get straightened out Mem.
Brad has something suspicious on his back that looks like the pics of melanoma=finally convinced him to have it taken care of. I will call. His siter, the nurse, says he needs to go to a dermatologist.
Hi everyone. Bye for now. Mima

Tammy 10-30-2006 07:11 AM

Meme, I laughed out loud about your clocks! Yes, I think changing them all at the same time would be a good idea.

Mima, lol to Ziggy. I hope Brad goes to get that checked out soon.

Have a great day everyone!

CarebearsChris 10-30-2006 09:25 AM

Meme, I did the same thing. In our bedroom Larry has a clock on his side of the bed that he gets up to and I have one on my side of the bed (in the middle of the night I can't see the clock on his side so I have no idea what time it is so I got a clock just for me). He set his back and I didn't. When I got up this morning I was so confused at to what time it was.

Tammy, I am so glad to hear the injections are helping. I am so scared of needles and don't know if I could go thru that any more. (yet 2 years ago I got a tattoo...go figure).

Mima--I hope Brad goes to the doc soon.

Happy Canuk 10-30-2006 09:38 AM

Good morning firbrogals

Meme - that was funny, because i did the same thing. We were out on Sat, night, so I just changed the microwave and stove clock. In the morning I wasn't sure what I had done. Hubby got busy and changed them all.

Mima - so Hi, Ho, Hi, Ho, it's off to Florida you go - SOON??? That would be good for you. We had snow starting on Saturday night and the ground is a blanket of white. Won't be going anywhere soon, as it is quite cool as it is only about -9 (14F) this morning. Hate driving in the snow the first few days, but then you get used to it.

Hope you can get Brad to go to the Dr. immediatley, Mima.

Tammy - I am so glad that the injections helped you. Nothing worse than that pain! The Facet Joints do so much as well, as they are responsible for movement in the back.

I know you are enjoying having Tim home.

Chris - How was the bowling?

Joanne - hope you can see better now.

I am off to work. I went for a massage on Wednesday and that really helped. She just finds all the trigger points in the old back and works on them. This was the 3rd massage in just over a week. I am going again on Wednesday. If I take some mild pain meds (in Canada we have 222'2 that you buy over the counter. They have ASA, Codeine and Caffeine in them). I have to watch how I take them, as they do tend to bother my stomach, but Tylenol is quite useless for me.

Anyway, ladies, hope you all have a nice day.

Anne--Thanks for asking about bowling. I didn't bowl last night...was hurting to much. Did bowl Thursday and Friday. Only bowled soo soo. I got new bowling shoes and I can't slide like I used to. I am ready to throw the new shoes out and use the old ones.

I would only have to slide once ... they would be carrying me out. ;)

Still haven't set my clocks. I was up late last night. Hubby got up to get a drink and I asked him to take the one on the wall in my BR down for me ... he was half asleep and dropped it down behind the computer desk ... he was not a happy camper. By the time he got it out he was good and awake. He didn't put it back up ...just layed it on the printer and went back to bed so I still can't tell what time it is in the bedroom! :p I set my alarm clock but it's in the head of the bed covered up with pillows. I ran the grandfather clock up instead of back by mistake and it chimed 12 ... by the time I figured out what I did it was too late. I ran it back but it still hasn't straightened it's self out yet ... takes it a full 12 hrs. to do that. So now if it's 10 o'clock, the clock strikes 12. It will be OK by midnight tonight! :D (I'm not sure about me ... guess I'll just stay home and pray that I don't have to be anywhere by a certain time!) :dizzy:

Hey There

This thing with my eyes is a nightmare. I see pretty good with one eye at a distance and not with the other. One eye close and not the other. I went out and bought some cheap reading glasses so now I can see with both eyes close. There is still something not right. But it will have to do..
I set my clocks sat. and the atomic clock sun. I did something wrong and the alarm went off on it during the night. I had to redo it again today. I will see what happens after midnight tonight. Maybe it will blow up!!!
R eye surgery Thursday. I will be so glad to get this all sorted out..
I have been eating too much...Nerves!!!Joanne

Chris, I was very nervous about getting the injections. I had been told how painful it would be, but it ended up not being as bad as I expected. They had given me a shot to relax me, so that helped alot!! The shots to numb the area hurt for 10-15 seconds for each one, but the injections themselves didn't hurt. I could just feel pressure. I would not hesitate to recommend the injections for anyone who is in the kind of pain that I was in.

Anne, the top of the paper they sent me home with has facet joints typed on it. I think that's where the injections (or part of them) were. I don't understand all this stuff. It has been wonderful having Tim home. I'm going to hate to see him go back tomorrow. I thought he was leaving tomorrow night, but Jessica has to work at 5, so they are leaving earlier. It would be silly for her to drive back to school, and for us to take Tim a few hours later.

Thinking about your snow reminded me of when we were in the process of moving up here last year. Bob and the dog were still at the other house, and Tim and I were staying here and organizing some things. It snowed overnight, and when we got up we opened up the blinds on the back side of the house and it was like a winterwonderland. We have a woods behind the house, the snow was blowing, and there were some rabbits and birds out there. Beautiful.

Chris, I'm so glad you are able to bowl at all! I used to love bowling.

Meme, at the Y tonight I thought of you. One of the clocks in the pool area was the right time, and the other one hadn't been changed yet. lol I agree about being smarter to deal with certain situtations, and I wish I would have eaten healthier when I was younger. LOL to you and the grandchildren! I vote for one at a time. Good for the new you!!!

I overdid it on the food today. I wrote down all the foods and wrote down the WW points. Too high. My only saving grace was that I had walked at school today and I did the hour of water aerobics. Hopefully I'll do better tomorrow.

Joanne, the stress will definitely make you eat. Once the other eye is done, things will get better for you. Prayers are with you!!
