Meme, I have to totally agree with your profound thoughts. There have been so many times over the past couple of years with the school issues and health issues that made me want to give up on it all. Somehow I found some bright spots even though I was still hurting when I found them!! lol

Have a great week to all of you. I'm up and checking messages before I head for the shower. Priorities, you know????

It gets better, tammy.
I am having acupuncture for IBS and it seems to be working. Except yesterday when I ate a granola bar-I think oats are not good for me. With severe diverticulosis I never know which is which.
Glad about your eye and the church, Joanne. When you get into a nice church, it just gets better, right Meme?
Definitely, scales are different and it's so easy to get out of the habit of measuring. I figured out that I ate too much. I did go for a walk yesterday but the asthma kicked up-I ate wheat and that gives me congestion.
Angela and Brett announced that it was their first year anniversary and I remebered the card I bought 2 weeks ago and still was in the bag!!!
Hope your weekend was nice, Anne.
Going to wash the other half of the stairway and get my teeth cleaned today-washed one half at a time so you could still use them . I am too smart for my own good-haha!!

Mima, glad the acupuncture is working!! You sound like me with card!! I bought a card to send to Tim and then I couldn't find it. So I bought another one, and of course, I found the first one. You are so smart about the stairway!!!

Off day for me. I have a doctor's appoinment at Noon. Doing x-rays of the lower back to check about giving me shots to ease the arthritis pain. Doesn't sound like fun, but neither is the pain.

have a great day everyone!!

Don't get too many shots-depending on what kind. I heard that if you keep getting shots in your knees it does something(like break down the cartilage?) don't remember-hope you feel better. I haven't gotten my video yet.
Goy my teeth cleaned-what's left of them . Hadn't been there for 3 years-already made the appt for next year.
Gas was 2.07-yeah!!
Our FL ins went up almost 600 so now it's almost 1900. Considering our mobile home is only worth 34,5000 it does seem ridiculous-we are paying for last year's hurricanes. We are definitely going to try to get it lower, Problem is no one wants to write insurance for mobile homes man. in 1975.
Had a dream I spent so much time getting the house cleaned, I forgot to make enough food for company.
Bye for now. Mima

Hi Tammy and Mima.

Mima - glad the acupuncture is helping the IBS. Wow!! that is some expensive insurance, that is for sure. It sure is nice to see those gas prices falling, I must admit.

Tammy - enjoy your day off! Even if it IS at the Dr. Probably he will give you Facet Joint Injections or an Epidural. Both are ok. You can get the Facet Injections as often as you need to. Cortisone wears out the joint in the long run, but like the Dr. told me, It would be a good thing in the back. They did help me out a bit, but only for such a short time. Everybody is different and those few days without pain were like HEAVEN.

I am off to work. Wish me luck. First full day!! Yikes, I don't know WHAT I was thinking!!!!

Have a nice day.

My best friend has been out of town and hasn't heard my woes with the scale last week. I told her that I haven't lost 20 that the new scales weighed me 4 pounds heavier. She said why on earth would you take the 4 pounds away from what you lost and not add them to where you started. Since I started in September the old scales most likely weighed me 4 pounds less. So I am once again happy to have a 20 pound loss and not 16.

Mima, I wish the gas prices were much lower, but it has been better than it was.
Yikes to the Florida insurance!!

The x-rays showed arthritis, and I go back on Thursday for an injection in 2 spots. Can't remember what it is called, but it is one that won't harm the area. He also said he can't guarantee 100% that it will work. I understand that. When I had the injections in the knees in January, it was only supposed to be good for 4-5 months. My knees were ok until sometime in September, so I was very lucky. Hoping for the same here.

The day off was pretty good because it was sunny! Bob is still miserable with his cold, that I almost wanted to leave when I got home. He goes to the doctor in the morning for a checkup that was already scheduled. He had blood tests that they are going to go over. Kind of nervous about them, but I'm not letting him know that.

Anne, how was your first day??????????????????

Chris, I agree about the 20. I started WW last week, and I'm not getting rid of the weight on my tracker that I had already lost. Of course I had gained a couple of those back, so I might as well have started over. lol

Default Hey There

Tammy- WW is a good program.. I belong to Tops. Many people use WW program but come to Tops for the support.. It is less expensive and you can get the same results. I say it is all up to them. They weight in once a week the same as WW. I have lost 74 lbs. between the two and so far kept it off almost 5 years..I had a series of back injections a few years ago. They helped me a lot. I went to a chiropractor a while back and he was great. Very gentle. No bone cracker there. My back feels pretty good . I will always have some pain but nothing like I used to have.I have osteoarthritis. I can't begin to tell you how many times my hubby has hauled me to the hospital because I could not stand the pain let alone walk.Hope The injections help you.
Chris- Don't let the scales rule your life.. I get on one time a day, first thing in the morning, before coffee. That is your true weight. Keep doing the things you know are good for you and you will get to your goal.
Mima- Our insurance Alstate is pulling out of Fl. We have been with them over 30 years. We have to buy somewhere else. My hubby is almost not wanting to get any. Ofcourse we know that is not wise.
Happy- You are still a young chick.. I am sure you did well with your full day.
Meme- I like your profound thoughts. They are so true. That is what life is all about. We make the best of what God gives us.. I always say. What doesn't kill me will make me stronger.Ofcourse there have been times lately that had to wonder if I was stronge enough for the challenge.
Everyday my distance sight seems better in my left eye. I know there may be a week or more that I am going to be very upset trying to see close. I have to wait until both eyes are ready to get reading glasses. I am not a good waiter.R eye surgery Nov.2.

Joanne, I seriously considered TOPS. I would have to drive a ways to a meeting, and the WW is right here in town. I think I'm going to start with it, stick with it for a while, and then in the future check out TOPS again. I'm glad to know that the injections helped you. A friend of mine has had them, and she was very pleased. I wouldn't be very patient about the eyes either!!

Well another day is done. This week I am back to the treadmill. Yesterday and today I have walked 15 minutes. 3-5 minutes at a time. It was sunny so that helps with the SAD. Oh the h$!! I am going thru to get the right light box for it. I don't think anyone at Apria as any idea what they are doing. It feels good not to be worrying about what the scales say each time I am in the bathroom. I am getting on them once a day now..first thing in the morning.

Joanne--I didn't know an insurance company could do that...just pull out of an area because it was hard hit with hurricanes. That just doesn't seem right at all.

Happy--How was the first day?

Tammy--Hope you get some relief with the injections. I have had cortisone shots in my back several times, as well as both knees. They help nicely. But I am told you can't have them very often. We will have to see what this new doctor says on the 2nd about that. Oh how I hate new doctors.

Mima--I haven't had my teeth cleaned in forever. I know I need to but I also know they will tell me I need a ton of work done and I can't afford right now, even with dental insurance.

Hope everyone stays warm and has a pain free day.

I made it through the first day!! My whole back is so tired, but it will get used to it after a bit. It was like that when I first started working part-time. After a couple of weeks, the muscles adjusted. Hope that is the case. I enjoyed being there all day, actually.

Joanne - Yes, I am still a young chick with a really weak back Hope your eyes don't drive you crazy before you get everything tweaked. Insurance companies are a big "bug" for me. Haven't much use for them, but you are almost forced to get insurance.

Chris - you are doing great with the program you made yourself. Keep at it and soon the pounds will be gone. You are not alone, as I am doing this right along with you, as is Tammy. WE WILL SUCCEED!!!

Tammy - Hope the injections help you. Seems like you take to cortisone if it helped your knee. Good luck. Getting rid of pain, anyway you can, is a bonus.

Meme - such profound wisdom Loved that. Thanks for sharing.

Have a good night everybody.

Y'all are just too funny talkin' about my profound wisdom ... 'bout the only 'wisdom' in this here body is the three furthermost teeth in the back of my mouth. (Fourth one didn't come in!)

Chris ... I wondered why you didn't just add the 4 pounds to what you weighed when you started since the new scales weighed 4 pounds heavier instead of taking the 4 pounds the scale was off from the 20 you already lost. I mean, just because the scales don't weigh the same doesn't mean you didn't still lose 20 pounds! Just keep it slow and steady this time!

Joann, I don't have much patience when it comes to waiting, either. And I hate it when I can't see stuff. I love these new progressive lenses I got a couple of months ago. I can see so much better with them.

Anne, hope your back can take the strain of working 'almost' full time. I know my muscles and bones couldn't take it.

Tammy ... hope your hubby is feeling better now and hope the injections help you. I have them in my ankle from time to time. Sometimes they help and sometimes they don't. Right now I have costochondritis back again ... inflammation of the sternum and upper ribs. Nothing the doc can really do about that so guess there's no use going! Just take my aleve and wait for it to go away. Very painful.
HI MIMA!

More rain coming in tomorrow night and Thursday. JOY!

I think the cold and all the work I have been doing has really affected me.Chiro and Podiatrist today. We will find out soon if that lady is really interested in the apt. Otherwise, we will head to FL. There's got to be a way to save money on the insurance.
I agree with adding 4 lbs to your original wt. Chris. Just take it one day at a time.
Glad your eye is improving.Joanne. I am going to work 6 days -at different times and I am concerned about the night driving since the clocks change.
Tammy, it must have been the cortisone shots-glad you have something else. The cortisone only lasts 2 weeks. Last one I had was in my knuckle after painting the trim on the house. It worked but I also stopped painting.
Hope the working works out, Anne, Glad you have today off.
It's hard for others to imagine the pain we have!!!! Meme, we are haing the rain on FRiday.
I actually wrapped presents yesterday-or put them in pretty Christmas bags. Love that Dollar store!!.
Bye for now, Mima

Chris, I'm sure the shots for the back aren't cortisone. I know that I had that in my knees though. Good for you for only doing the scales once a day!

Anne, glad you made it through the first day!! Just don't overdo it, ok?

Meme, Bob is still pretty puny, and now I think that he's trying to give it to me! I want him to keep it!! I don't want it!! We're supposed to be getting rain the rest of the week also.

Mima, lol about painting! When we moved to my parent's house, we painted all of the rooms before we moved in. When we moved here, we hired it done. I don't think we'll ever paint again. I need to get busy on the shopping sometime. I keep saying it, but I really need to get some things. I love the Dollar store too!

Off to bed!

Here's some good old music for you to listen to while you read.

http://www.pcdon.com/pop-country.HTML

I went for a massage today - back should feel BETTER, but it hurts. I hope I can last 2 more days at work Once the pain starts to take over, that is when I give it up and go back to my casual shifts. I hope this is just because it is new and needs an adjustment time.

Chris - set your scale back 4 pounds if it will help you to feel better about it. You know you lost 20 pounds so it doesn't make any difference what THIS scale says.

Have a nice night.
