Anagram- I hope you and hubby are feeling better soon. We caught a bug at Christmas too. Hubby fine now. I just have some conjestion still..I really feel good though.
Mima- I was on most of those arthritic drugs for years .Ulcers are a given . I now take Prilosec OTC. I have not had any problems in a long time..Kidney stones are no fun.. Drink lots of water...
The weather still in the 70's.. Windows open and fans going.. I guess I will be doing some dusting. At least ,I can air out the house.. So many cold germs around..
Hello Everybody-Stay well.
Bye...Joanne

Joanne ... send me some of that warm weather. It's cold and rainy here.

Mima ... my Son-in-law has kidney stones all the time. I bet he's had over 20 attacks since they've been married (about 10 years). I hope you're feeling better. Those are so painful.

Anagram ... hope you and hubby are both feeling better. I finally got most of my Christmas stuff put away. I still have my village up on my entertainment center. I'll get it next week. I spend so much time putting that one up I like to enjoy it a little longer. My basement is still a disaster. Hubby has such a mess down there!!! I'll be glad when he gets the tile down and gets that all finished. He didn't get anything done to it last week ... had to work and then had to go to AL today then tonight we went to the movies.

We saw 'Meet the Fokkers' with another couple. We laughed so hard. It should be illegal to have so much fun. (WARNING: It had a few 'naughty' words in it and adult humor - do not take children!) Went to AppleBee's to eat first and then I went to Penny's to pay a bill and we had some extra time so we shopped a few minutes. I found this great red coat that was marked down 60% (red tag) and then another 20% on top of that and then the girl at the checkout gave me a $15 coupon. I got a $230 coat for $84 tax and all! It's really long ... cashmere blend. I love it!!! I've always wanted a red coat. Problem ... it's a 12 and a little tight ... I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T gain any weight. I wouldn't mind weighing 145 instead of 150. Sooooo ... I thought I might try Oxycise again. Best I remember, when I did that a couple of times before it gave me some much needed energy! Easy does it ... I'm not going to stretch too far ... afraid I'll pull something! I still have just a little bit of a stomach ... not much ... but I'd like to be completely flat. I can't do sit-ups. Any ideas anyone??? Help me get my 'belly' flat ... and when it is and I lose 5 more pounds, I'll have hubby make a picture in my new red coat and put it on here!

The Prevacid is working for Brad but he can't take the Naprocen so he is in pain. I did drink a lot of water yesterday and am already feeling better and the pressure is gone for now. I still have to take a bunch of blood tests tomorrow .Mike and family were here for Fajitas last night-yummy on our new appliance-make ahead and put in the oven-I didn't. We went for a nice walk with crabby Evan who loves his stroller-boy, is he high maintenance but so cute. Poor Al fell backwards on the cement because the tippers on the back of her wheelchair were not down. Gotta call and make sure she is fine. This weather is boring-it's 80 every day. NOT BORING!!!People back home have had snow and ice. I love red coats, Meme!!!!I have a permanent belly-move the buttons!!!!!! Mima

Hey Gang! This is the first I've been able to get on-line since earlier in the week. After our 2 feet of snow, we had flooding, then we had more rain, and more flooding, then we had an ice storm!! There are people in the area still without power. I feel awful for them. There are workers here from 10 different states trying to help get everyone hooked up with electricity again. It has been a pain for so many people. I'll have to read messages later.

Default Hey There

Tammy- You have the snow ,floods and ice storms and we have the hurricains.. We have displaced people still here in Fl. Homes are still wrecked and a lot of people looking for help.Weather has been bad summer and winter for the past year...
It has been a quiet weekend at my house.. I was going to walk and I didn't..No motivation..Maybe I can tomorrow.. We got up late and by the time breakfast was over it was almost noon..I went to walmart and the grocery store.. That was my limit..
Mima- The Dr. gave me darvocetn 100 for pain . I can't take the arthritic drugs either. I don't take more than one every now and then..
Meme- move the buttons. You can always replace them if you lose the belly..I wear a 12.. I have 2 all weather coats.. I seldom wear them.. Coats last a long time for me.. A sweater is about all I wear or a light jacket..
Hello everybody...Joanne

I agree about the dieting with moderation. I've lost weight, but I don't deprive myself of my favorites. I sure don't eat as much of them as I used to, that's for sure!

Cassie, I was just at the Rheumatologist on Thursday. She recommended that I join a YMCA so I can use the pool and hot tub.

Meme, I agree with you about feeling blessed even with so many things wrong. That red coat sounds like an awesome deal! I'd like to see Meet The Fockers. Sounds hilarious!

I finally have all of the inside Christmas stuff down and put away. Outside lights are still up. If it ever stops snowing, raining, or icing, maybe we can get that done.

Candice, it irritates me when others don't realize how much I hurt. I know I don't look sick, but looks are deceiving.

Tai Chi. I've heard of it, but I really don't know what it is.

Rita, I'm in Ohio too! We're neighbors!! I'm northwest of Dayton.

WHEW ... I sure ate tooooooo much today (and tonight)!!!!!!! I gotta stop eating supper so late at night. I don't like feeling this full so close to bedtime. We went to Cracker Barrel with friends after church and I got chicken livers because of my blood being low. I didn't eat all of them but I'm still stuffed.

Hi Rita ... I'm 5' 9" and I've been at 149 for the last couple of weeks. I've been wearing a 10/12. 12 in pants and 10s in everything else but this coat is a 12 and a little snug for some reason but I bought it because it is really long ... I'm so tall it's hard to find a coat that's as long as my skirts and dresses.

Hadn't thought about moving the buttons but that might just work. That would be sooo funny. My best friend's husband was trying to talk me out of getting the coat ... kept saying, "naw ... you don't want that coat, it's too tight hahaha" and such (because I asked HER if she thought it was too tight). He was kidding ... making a big joke ... just trying to talk me out of buying the coat because I was undecided. He likes playing with my mind (what little I have left.) He's always trying to pull something on me. I could move the buttons and then wear it to church next Sunday ... pull the front out and say, "Hey, look John, look how much weight I've lost in just one week." He'd die!!!!!!! (Oh ... and by the way ... I don't really have much of a 'belly' ... just a little 'hump' there I'd like to be flat ... ya know what I mean??? Too bad I can't just stick a pin in it and watch it deflate!) Guess I'll HAVE to stick a pin in it ... nobody came up with any other ideas on how else to get rid of it! What do you all do - other than Tai Chi and walking? (I wear control top pantyhose with my dresses ... voila ... no belly!) I did Oxycise last night. Didn't pull anything. Hubby said he was going to do it with me ... I doubt it!

Going for my blood test in a few minutes. I have only had black coffee so I had better not wait too long. We have a pool and a hot tub but only was in once-just too busy!!!Have to get some bedroom furniture this week!! SIL coming tomorrow-I suppose I have to clean the house again. Sorry about your bad weather, Tammy. Sounds awful-I remember too well. I reminded Brad when we went to Walmart, that if we were home. we would have to nwarm up the car and scrape the windows etc. Here we only have to put up with the traffic!!Gotta go-Doc should be calling today about the Xray. Mima ... heard them just last summer ... some of those boys hail from Crossville - about 45 miles from here. They are really good, I have their CDs, too. I'm going to hear Jeff and Sheri Easter Friday night. They are my favorites. I sing a lot of Sheri's songs.

My get up and go got up and went.

On the plus side, the ulcer on my ankle is getting better since I've been staying off my feet. God is good!

Rats-lost my post!!Good thing about your ankle. We have a problem with docs and insurance-I need another test for stones, xray neg., and Brad needs an endoscopy. Waiting to call insurance company at 9. Also, Brad is seeing a specialist. Doc thinks he has an ulcer-at least he feels better from the Prevacid. If it's too much, then we will have to go back home where it is free. Pray-pray for us. Bought a gorgeous bedroom set yesterday-went to a consignment store that had nothing but found this other place right after. It's white!! It has changed to having dark wood down here but I have that at home. We have to go get camper today and put it in storage-at least we will get 2 months rent back. I guess we want to spend money on everything but our health.ps-the bedroom set is new!!!! Only new thing in the house, including the occupants. Be Good-Mima

Default Hey There

Tai Chi is big down here in some areas.. I never tried it.. I got on the T/M today for 45 min. That means I walked 2 1/4 miles.. Now I need to do the same thing tomorrow and the rest of the week. I have to get back in the habit..That way I will feel guilty when I don't...
Maybe we should start a thread for our exercise.. I wonder if it would motivate us to do more? We could be accountable to each other..
Mima- Every now in then it feels good to get something different and new..
Hello everybody...Joanne

What is tai chi? I am so out of it!
This has been my worst day for pain for quite a while. It's been raining all day. I would like sunshine and a beautiful day. I think I need to move from here. lol

Joanne, I am in an exercise group with some women that we got started about 6 or 7 years ago. We've grown very close to each other, and we've actually met a few times in person!! The last 2 times we've met in Chicago. What fun!! Last summer, we went to see Menopause the Musical while we were there. It was a hoot!!!

I've met a couple of women that I 'met' online. One had in-laws who lived close to me and came here for dinner and then another time when she visited them we went shopping together and out to lunch. Another one lived in California and I visited her in the hospital when we went there for hubby's business. It's fun to meet people you've 'talked' to for years.

I started doing Oxycise again this week. Feels good to be actually DOING something again. I have to be careful, though, and not overdo. I'm really bad to pull muscles when I do any form of exercising or stretching.

Came a huge storm here today. Knocked the power out all morning. So I just went back to bed.
