Hi all. Well the dinner went pretty well. I limited myself to a small Tamale dinner and was quite satisfied afterward. Then we had the gift exchange and all had a good time. Now it's getting ready to visit the family in Texas for Christmas and I'll be home free after that.

Rosetta your doing fine. Even I cannot resist a piece of chocolate now and then. It is my true weakness.

Rosey I must say you are in the holiday spirit. I love Christmas too. I just wish I had more time to prepare this year.

Hope everyone else is doing fine and we hear from you all soon.
Deb

Stepping Out 12-17-2004 11:35 AM

Hi Ladies

Rosetta: I'm glad to hear that you had such good news from your doctor :D . A few pieces of chocolate won't set you back ;)

Deb: Glad to hear your enjoyed your dinner. Have a nice visit with your family :D

Rosey: You have a great perspective on celebrating the season. :) Hope your knee is healing well :D

I got more good news yesterday. My ortho dr. is finally going to put me in a walking cast in a few more weeks  I'm looking forward to it!

Hope everyone has a great day!

sapphire9 12-17-2004 03:38 PM

Hi, there. My day started out lousy. Got hit by a pick pocket on the bus on the way to work and lost my wallet. Have spent the whole morning calling the police and the credit card companies. Am really stressed out. :stress: Anyone got a Valium! Anyway, will try not to turn this into an excuse for a food fest.

Deb, glad you had a good time at your dinner. I know you can make it through the trip home okay.

Joanne - what good news - yay! You've been doing pretty well anyway, but what a difference.

Have a nice weekend. :)

paperdoll 12-17-2004 07:21 PM

loofah 12-18-2004 07:46 AM

I had another party today, lots of yummy food but i stuck to a salad, some healthy chicken and a few small new potatoes :D

I think I will be able to handle Christmas Day.

I just added one of those ticker thingys to my siggy and I love it!! They are so neat!

I have been to the dietician, she is pretty happy with what i have been eating but has told me I must eat more carbs. I am still losing about 2 pounds a week which is nice but I fully expect it may slow down :dizzy:

loofah 12-19-2004 05:12 PM

Well i just weighed and measured myself and this past week i have lost .8kg (1.76 pounds) :D

I have also lost 8cm this week!! This is going to be a great Christmas and worth all the sacrifice!!! :)

2round 12-20-2004 08:57 AM

Good Morning :coffee: Man miss a couple of days and the posts go crazy.

Rosetta I'm sorry you got hit on the bus. What a creep. But glad you are focused and not going to let it spoil all your hard work. Just be careful of your readings, as stress can be a real bummer on your readings. Try doing something soothing like a long bubble bath by candel light, even a glass of wine might be nice. Love you girl and hang tough. :D

Rosey I can tell you are a regular Misses Clause. :D I'm glad your having so much fun for the hoildays. And also glad the knee is doing much better.

Homebound a walking cast :cb: Yipee I know your ready to do flips. What a great Christmas present.

Loofah My hats off to you for making the good choices on food. :cp: It always makes us feel good inside when we know we are doing the right things, and your doing great. ;)

Pat I hope your kitty is doing better. Mine came home with a leg all cut up yesterday. He's a tom and sometimes tends to get into trouble. But he was happy to sleep at the foot of my bed a soak up all the attention last night. But I'm still a litte worried about the leg. As for you make sure your putting good carbs into the diet. And some high fiber should help with that cholesterol and triglycerides. ;)

Well guess I'm doing fine and got a little winded so I'm out till later.
Hugs to all. :D
Deb

Hello all! Well, i am glad to see I am not the only one struggling. I have to repeat my blood work, but have been putting it off until Jan. I can tell when I have too much sugar though, I get a massive headache...ugh!!
Happy holidays all!!!

sapphire9 12-20-2004 07:54 PM

Hi all. Well, I had a bad weekend. All stressed, depressed and angry at what happened and all the aggravation I'm going through. Have to spend Christmas Eve at the Dept. of Motor Vehicles getting a new I.D. Had to go to Macy's Saturday to mail an xmas gift and realized I couldn't do any shopping because all my credit cards are cancelled. Fortunately I had already completed my gift shopping, but there is always something I want for myself...o well. Friday night I was feeling so sorry for myself so I bought a piece of good cheese and a bunch of fresh dungeness crab meat and had a big salad with lots of blue cheese dressing. needless to say I didn't want to weigh myself the next morning, so I didn't. yesterday I wanted to pig out, but was to anxious to eat so was somewhat controlled (except for the 4 chocolate truffles I scarfed down). I tried to make up it all today by bringing Slimfast for lunch, but then had to go out on an errand and there was the deli... Well, Scarlett, tomorrow is another day. :sball2:

Deb and Pat - sorry about your kitties. Deb, keep an I on that leg and hope it doesn't get infected. I had a tom who used to get in fights. finally had to get him fixed after he came home with a broken pallet.

Rosey - you must be a really fun person to be around at holiday time. Keep up your good spirits!

H - Stay away from that sugar.

Loofah - great going. keep it up.

paperdoll 12-22-2004 05:17 PM

I found out that my also round type2 cousin -her terory, eat the dessert & just take another pill :nono: - can no longer tie her own shoes or hook her bra.
She is prob less weight than I; but, short. Gave me a reason to get to work.

Glad to be able to share Jesus birthday with him.
May God's angels watch over you.

Stepping Out 12-26-2004 04:24 PM

Hi Ladies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas :D :) :sman:

I went way off plan :ink: Last night I felt that overstuffed distressed feeling for the first time in forever :p I need to get back on track!

Anybody else have trouble making it through the holidays without blowing their diet? :?:

Take care everyone! :D

:snf:

oldwriter 12-27-2004 09:31 AM

Me Too-MOO!

Felt awful,
Forgot how sluggish and sleepy you feel.
Went to bed at 7pm and got up at 5am. :dizzy:
Didn't feel like doing anything and felt stuffed and uncomfortable.
Following my diet today.
Looking forward to feeling better and wanting to get things done.
On to a new and slim new year. :coffee:

akrosey49 12-27-2004 05:07 PM

sapphire9 12-27-2004 08:59 PM

Rosey - what a bummer about all the things that tried to ruin your Christmas, but you sure are spunky. Glad you made the best of it. (You could have used my oven - it was not in use. )

Loofah - you seem to be one of the few people who hasn't been waylaid by the Christmas fairies and led astray. Congratulations - you'll be in onederland in no time.

Carol and Joanne - I feel your pain. Yep, I've been off the wagon too. Temptations were hitting me both at home and at work and I've been feeling sorry for myself because of all the hassle of trying to replace things I lost in the wallet theft that I gave in to temptation. :eating2: then I had butter in the house for the first time in months to cook my special Christmas dinner and well -- it found its way into my daily eating until it was gone. I daren't weigh in until next Saturday. I'm afraid I will have to change my tracker then. Sigh. I guess we should all be thinking about our New year's resolutions.

2round 12-29-2004 07:29 AM

:coffee: Morning all, Well I know I've been MIA but have been on vacation and went to Texas for Christmas. The family was great and I too ate everything in site. Really thinking hard about getting the New Year started off on the right foot. :(

Rosey your always making the best of whatever life throws your way. A lesson we all could learn from. Thanks for being on this thread, just your spunk keeps me going on alot of days. Love you girl.

Rosetta I know you've been really stressed. I went through the same thing with the credit cards and Id's last year. It will get better, it's just hard to see right now. Hang in there baby. :sman:

I'll be off work til next week. Check back soon.
Deb :^:

oldwriter 12-29-2004 07:40 AM

Hi all.

Well, I've started the day off right with a proper breakfast and a prayer.
Hope you all are doing well today too.
Rosey-don't worry about mil -sometimes as we age we forget to have manners and patience b/c we see the end looming every day. All they may have is their own little space to worry about and forget that others are busy and don't have time to help them right now. I find myself losing patience when waiting for something. It isn't the only the young that want things figured in a microwave minute. Try to overlook her and remember we will be a crusty minded old fart someday too. I'm halfway there already.
She is a weath of things already learned tho and could be a help to you in other ways, as long as she doesn't try to take over. She may be feeling bad today that she crabbed at you. Just a idea. I've had a few disagreement with my bf's mom. I try to remain calm an watch what I say in return, and she calms down later after thinking it over. She rehashes years old stuff & makes herself miserable. My mom gave me advise that stuck with me. "Only one person at a time shouild make a fool of themselves." :)
Have a blessed day all. Carol

 Hi, Deb. Welcome back. Glad that you had a good time in Texas. Thanks for the encouragement. I'll get back on track eventually because I feel the weight I put back on and it doesn't feel good. :(

Hi, Pat, sorry you lost your post. Happy New Year to you, too.

Crime girl 01-02-2005 01:16 PM

Hi everyone!
I was on the board a little last year and have been MIA for a long time-
so in essence I am a newbie.
Just wanted to say Hi and I am going to try to start posting with you guys!

sapphire9 01-03-2005 07:14 PM

Hi, Crime Girl, welcome to the thread. Well, where is everybody? :?: I need some motivation. Probably we all do. I didn't dare get on the scale last weekend. Decided to wait until I'd had a week back OP before I ventured there. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get back on the wagon today. I had better do it soon because my blood sugar is going up. Hope you all start posting soon. Happy New Year.

akrosey49 01-03-2005 07:58 PM

Hi everyone.. sorry i havent posted..ive been a really bad girl..but today was reality check day..back to curves(and boy am i sore-had to start all over) and back to counting ww pts and eating sensibly..i really gave my self permission to eat whatever and how much i wanted for the last 2 weeks and i have to admit it was fun but alot of the time i didnt feel the best..higher sugars and tired and sluggish..the neat thing is we all get a new chance, anew beginning everyday that we get up..we just have to beleave in our selves..i was heading in the wrong direction and i put on the brakes today..so how about all of you..new beginings for us all..((((((((hugs))))))) rosey:wave:

2round 01-04-2005 09:06 AM

Hey gals glad to be back. Well the 2 week vacation was just what the doctor ordered. I'm feeling like a new me. Need all the R&R after working like a fool. But like everyone else I was not as good at staying OP the last 2 weeks. But it's a new year and the holidays are over. Time to get back to work.
I will also be avoiding the scale this week and working more on how I feel and getting the numbers back in check. Hope everyone had a wonderful New Year.
Deb :twirly:

sapphire9 01-05-2005 03:35 PM

Hi, Deb and Rosey. I'm still having trouble getting back on program. Besides the post holiday blahs, work has been slow which gives me a lot of time to think about things that make me anxious and send me for comfort food. :eating2: Hopefully by the end of this week I'll have gotten over this. Sigh.

loofah 01-06-2005 06:53 AM

Big hugs to everyone who is struggling and those who have managed to stay away from all that yummy food!!

I have lost 1.5kg (3.3 pounds) in the past 1.5 weeks. Not easy but since I started healthysnacking it has become much much easier - on my hubby as well as me :D

2round 01-06-2005 09:05 AM

Morning :coffee: Well today I got the real wakeup call. Tested at 205 first thing this morning. :nono: I almost dropped my glasses. I've been in a state of denial, well that is gone with the reading. this weekend is a new plan of attack. :sp:

My vision has been all over the place. And now I'm sure I know why. My grandmother went blind from diabetis. I'm not wanting to follow in her footsteps on that. :fr:

Open for any tips the restart is really hard. I think I was suffuering a case of the fat head. :(
Deb

PS tomorrow I'm going to start us on a clean thread, this one is getting awfully long. :)

Meadowlark 01-06-2005 10:43 AM

What type of creamer?

Hello, Happy New Year! I use alot of cream in my coffee it`s the one thing I really enjoy, I ususally use coffee-mate low carb could I be using something better? :?: No, I don`t measure and I know I should. Yesterday at Staff Meeting one of the gals brought in all the goodies she received for Christmas chocolates and candied popcorn you name it, it was there! that was very hard on me, only took a small piece of the popcorn.......Thanks for listening. :dizzy:

paperdoll 01-06-2005 02:22 PM

we can do this it is a new year. thanks for being here. it helps to know you're not alone. pat

sapphire9 01-06-2005 08:05 PM

Loofah - we need some of what your have - motivation. Congratulations for staying on track.
Deb - 205! :dizzy: I had a 180 last week and freaked. Maybe we should start with some exercise - a little walking may make us feel better and more motivated to cut the food. I'm going to aim for that this weekend since some of my orthopedic problems have been alleviated for the moment.
Hi, Pat.
Meadow, I drink tea and use 2% milk. Cream is better for coffee. (I use whipping cream when I have decaf coffee, which is high fat, but low carb.) What about mocha mix or some other like product that's found in the dairy case?

oldwriter 01-10-2005 08:26 AM

Just a quick post to say having construction done on house so not been here: but, thinking of you. They are working on my kitchen floor so I have to stay out of there. :coffee:
Not sure what I weigh;but, don't feel bloated so hopeful.
Try to get back soon, Have a slim day.
Carol
