Charlie sounds like the answer to prayer, Mima. The guests when I'm not there would be tensing to me too but that's the kind of thing I'm trying to learn to let go. You're doing them a kindness so they should not be critical if everything isn't ship-shape while you're gone. But I know how you feel.

I'd love to have my granddaughters for a week, Happy. But I also would be exhausted. Have been having the urge to bake oatmeal cookies for dh - and want to make a pumpkin pie for gd when she comes next.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Went out for a great lunch at a nice place then drove a bit to a lake at a state park. We've been there before but usually go to the other lake in the park - bigger with boating etc (though we just watch). So yesterday we went to the one with a beach and watched people shivering in the cold water - air temp only made it to 72 yesterday (part of the lovely for me). Anyway we saw that it had a nice paved trail and took a nice long (for us) leisurely walk - really felt out in the middle of nowhere. Lots of lovely trails off it as well and (for the first time in a long time) I wished I could still do those.

It's mid morning here and I'm still in my robe. Doing some laundry but no special plans except for later this afternoon when we're going to the racetrack for a bit this evening. May also do some more fun weeding. I did a fair amount last evening but only because I wanted to. Have ignored it since dh was in hospital last month so I'm mostly pulling only the biggest all around to make it look less wild - perfect MIGHT come later. So many things I could do but, hey, if I were away spending money on some resort I couldn't worry about them so I'm not. I'm here in body only.

Great weekend, all!

Good morning! Saw a picture of the van and it looks brand new. Guests are not coming til Sat night AFTER dinner-good-only here for the continental breakfast I will serve because of early church where he will preach-lunch?-don't know-potluck at church in the evening and an ealy depature on Monday morning because they have to take their son to Boston"s airport. Not too bad and it's only my insanity that worries . Plus I will have all day Saturday and Brad has to do a lot like mow and vacuum camper. The blinds in the bedroom broke so I got some walmart curtains to put on a tension rod that you can open and close. Hate those mini blinds. They are so fragile. What a lovely excursion you had Anagram. Went to friendly's last night and then saw a movie-Little Black Book-it was really a chick flick but it takes your mind off things. Bye for now. Mima

Default Hey There

Anagram- That Park with the lake and trails sounds like a great place to me. I like walking and don't get to go to places like that. I have to be satisfied with walking to the beach. I do walk through a county park to get to the beach. I have been sticking to the treadmil lately ,it is just too hot to walk out right now.
Hello everybody.. I had a nice time up at my daughters. I was a little busy though . I was helping her with some things . She is getting ready for school to open. I made some curtains for her office and did a lot of cooking ets. She was having her kitchen wallpapered. The border was up when she came home from school. She didn't like it at all.. So we spent 2+ hours stripping it off and washing the glue off the walls. What a mess!It looked much better. It was just too many sun flowers..
My sister went to the hospital this A.M. They are going to do some I.V's and try to get this CHF under control. She should have been there 2 weeks ago. Please send some prayers up..
Bye...Joanne

Good morning!!!One time I came home to find that painter had painted my side door kelly green instead of soft green I had picked out. Yes, you can have too many sunflowers. I had a hydrangea border in my bedroom and there were too many but it was so expensive I left it up. Gave the condo to a realtor-same nice lady that sold my house. So we will get a few less dollars and a lot less headache. Never again will I try to sell my own property. Off to work this afternoon for 3 days. I guess I will be pretty well set for the company-trying to focus on what an awesome job they are doing in South Africa-overseeing 10 Aids projects and more to come. It's such an epidemic over there. And how it must feel not to see their 3 children all summer. And the deliscious easy dessert I will make for the potluck . A trifle with a leftover cake from the party that I froze. Lemon . Talk to you from the hotel. ps-I still have a stupid virus on my computer-I'll have to reload everything after I learn how to save it. Mima

Default Hey There

Candice- I'm not so good in the morning either.. It takes 3 cups of coffee to get my eyes open.. I don't really start sleeping till way after midnight. I am planning to talk to the Dr. about that little problem. I have been taking Tylenol pm for about 10 years and I don't think it is working anymore or just taking longer to work.
My sister may be in the hospital longer than she thought. Now they are talking about shocking the heart if the meds don't work . If it isn't one thing it is another..

Joanne ... that's what I take when the Darvocet doesn't work.

Got bit by a spider (I guess) at church Sun. night. I reached into a plant to pull some dead leaves right before the service started and it nailed me ... on the back of my right hand. Hurt like the dickens. Pastor said something sharp in the plant stuck me ... said he could see something sticking out of my hand ... then said maybe it was a bee and that was a stinger. Turned the plant up and shook it but nothing came out. I went ahead and played for most of the service but my hand began to swell up. He was sitting on the stage, behind me (I was at the piano, of course). I turned and held my hand down where he could see it and he raised his eyebrows. Then he gets in the pulpit and announces that I had been bitten by a spider ... hubby leans forward in his seat (in shock I guess)! My hand just keeps getting bigger. I finally had to go to the kitchen and get some ice to go on it and let someone else play the last couple of songs. (Not good ...) The pain went nearly to my elbow before it stopped but my heart never did skip a beat or get fast or anything so guess it wasn't very venomous. My hand is still swollen a little and red and it itches like crazy and I have a small hole in it. I went to the Dr. yesterday and he assured me it wasn't a brown recluse ... after I didn't die, that was my next big concern - there are a lot of those around here and if they bite you the flesh around the bite just rots away! So, since I didn't die, I guess I'll be OK! SPIDERS ... UGH! I really HATE spiders ... always have. I have a THING about spiders ... I sure won't be reaching my hand into any more plants at church!!!

Hi everybody.

I guess Mima is away for a few days. Hope she enjoys herself.

Candice - Hope you are feeling better. Of course, we get pain with everything we do. Doesn't seem fair, but it is a fact of life.

Meme - A spider bite! Gosh I don't like spiders. Hope you are feeling ok. Hope you are having a quieter week, but somehow, I doubt it.

Joanne - glad you and your daughter had a good visit. I am sure she appreciated your help.

Anagram - Hope both you and your hubby are feeling good. Did you bake cookies? I did. I baked chocolate chip and Oatmeal Raisin and took them to our family reunion. Little people and well as big people LOVE cookies. Don't like to have many hanging around here. I have been buying Biscotti. They take longer to eat and are more filling and not near as addictive. I enjoy them as well.

Last week I had Ashley staying with me. A good kid, for sure. We had our Family Reunion on Sunday and she ended up at ER for stitches to her chin. She had 4 stitches so the gash was pretty big. She has to have them out on Sunday this week. She was running a fell against a rusty old firepit. Other than that everybody enjoyed themselves.

Hope you all have a good day.

Go see my new business website ... I've worked and worked on this background ... WHEW ... that's a LOT of JAVA!!! I do believe that's the hardest one I've done yet! Now I have a couple of other people who are wanting me to put it on their sites! It is pretty neat ... I had to pay for the design and then take it apart and change all the colors and make new backgrounds to fit my business. The mouse-over buttons alone have 48 different color codes in them although you can only actually SEE 2 ... unbelievable!!! To see the HTML codes, click on View at the top of the screen and then click Source from the drop down menu. The page that comes up is the HTML code I had to edit in order to get what you see on the screen. I usually just write my own but I really like that background and couldn't figure out exactly how to make it so I just bought it!

Joanne - have been thinking of you all day and hope you're ok and things didn't go really bad for you. Also praying for your sister that they get her on a better track.

Hope your spider bite problems have subsided, Meme, sounds awful.

Nope, haven't baked any cookies yet, Happy. Maybe next week. I've been scraping along, not losing, not gaining anything substantial but I did get to water workout three times this week.

Wednesday we took a bus trip to Wolf Trap, VA to hear the Boston Pops. I just feel a lot better since we got away even one day. That plus the at home weekend have me feeling a lot better. Dh seems to be holding his own and there's been a bit more fun in my life lately. May it continue!

Good morning-computer down in hotel so I couldn't use it. Glad you are ok from spider-friend of mine got bitten from recluse-had a hole in her leg-Charley hit Ft Myers and Mike has 7 trees laying on his pool cage. He needed a new one!!!!!!But they are ok. When I heard the radio when I got out of work, I started to cry but was relieved when I got home because he had called-I left my cell phone at home. They also had a power line in front of their house. Missionaries coming by this morning and then back tonight to sleep for 3 nights. We will see their schedule and find out what meals to plan. They miss hamburgers so it will not be hard. I am focusing on the great work they do and how they must miss their kids and they will be happy that we will provide for them, Brad says its a blessing-he is a blessing!!Besides, I have a bd coming so he will be thankful to me!!!Haha! My daughter came to the hotel and we had a nice visit and swim!!!!She just got a promotion at work. She and boyfriend are doing fine-hope it lasts. Bye for now Mima-I woke upo so early......

Default Hey There

Anagram- We were prepared. Although we didn't plan to leave our house.. That may have been a mistake if the storm had really come our way. We have a lot of trees around our house..We hardly got any rain as it was.
Mima- I thought of your family as soon as I say the storm was going that way.. I am glad they are ok.
Now I see there is another one on its way.. Probably next week..
Now I have to put everything back in place that we put away in the yard..
