That must've been your 39th birthday Candice...you look so young.
And do not fear, I have shaved my legs. Am so glad Capri pants are still here. Used to make fun of my mother and her pedal pushers and her three quarter length sleeves due to excess wng span. Now I have the same thing. I even do push ups and lift weights.
Today was a weather perfect day. I could use about a month more of these...but it will be warmer tomorrow and my air conditioning doesnt work in my car. Hard to believe I actually have to roll down the window..

Did everyone enjoy Father's Day? I sure did as DS showed up yesterday with a new computer & scanner from him and DD. Of course, it's for Dad but they know full well I use it more than he does. Sweet kiddles. And he best part, of course, is that DS puts it all in working condition and customizes it for us.

Now I must admit it wasn't a good weekend calorie wise. That caramel cheesecake at the buffet today was too good not to eat (two pieces, no less). First I've had in more than a year and I will hop back on wagon in the morning. Only tea and salad for supper but one penance meal won't cut it - many more to come.

I am in such a good mood I can't believe I'm me.

Anybody else tried IcyHot patches for back pain? I've got capsaicin and other rubs too but sometime the patches take just enough of an edge off that I can keep going sooner (that's after heating pad, etc. if it's really bad). Knock on wood, though, I have not had any of the really, really b ad backaches for a while. (Clue: maybe 40 lbs less of me really helps? Of course the arthritis is still there so I'm always trying to be ultra careful).

Move getting closer, Happy. I would dread it but, like Candice, I have not moved in 33 years and can't seem to get more out than I keep bringing in.

Back on the wagon tomorrow!

Yeah Candice ... I wish we all lived close together ... we'd have a blast. Can't you just imagine the late night pajama parties, the morning coffee breaks and the 'brunches'??? We'd drive our hubbies crazy!!! (We'd probably drive each other crazy! ) From the looks of those pictures you're going backward in age!!!

We did the Father's Day thing... 'bout all day! After church we got hubby's Dad and met our son at a restaurant for lunch. then after church tonight we went to our daughters for pizza. I ate 2 pieces and I'm stuffed!!! I went grocery shopping this afternoon and bought plenty of meat and salad stuff. Gonna have to crawl back on that wagon, too. I'm going back on Atkins tomorrow. The scale hasn't budged for me for almost 2 weeks now. Have to get it started back down.

Hubby's mother found out she has cancer in her uterus. She'll have surgery in three weeks. I'm sure going to have my hands full this summer! She doesn't have any daughters...just 2 sons and the other daughter-in-law works (out of the home). I'm supposed to take her to her appointments, talk to the Dr. etc. I'll also have to do their cooking, cleaning and laundry for a while I'm sure. I don't know how I'm going to manage all that plus all my work and Ross. Especially with my energy level at an all time low! Oh well... as my dear maternal grandmother used to say, "It'll all come out in the warsh."

Thanks for the comments gals but pictures do not show all the wrinkles, thankgoodness

Meme...You will have a special place in heaven for taking care of al the people you do I thought you were losing to due to that new medication????? No appitite you said........

Ally....thankgoodness you shaved those hairy things Ally I'm impressed that you lift weighta nd do puch ups! My arms are really weak form my 3 years battel with tennis elbow. It is finnally better but they still give me problems.

ana..icy hot patchesfor back pain..no but I need to get some...but you cannot use heat when you have that stuff on right?

We do have stong wind here..sometimes I wonder why I put all my flowers in. Today I had to prune back some more wind damage to shrubs and bushes, trees and my begonias. I think everything will come out of it though. Fertilized tonight when I watered.

My back is ok as long as I keep moving and wear some support. It is when I sit for too long it really hurts. Can't ride in the car....and when I am doidng my exercises the pelcic tilt and cat stretch really hurt! Been stretching on my exercise ball too!

Yes...I was losing due to the topamax but I haven't lost any in nearly 2 weeks. I still am not hungry. Hubby made bacon in the microwave this morning and I had a few pieces of that before church. Then we went to the Golden Corral for lunch. I had salad, boiled shrimp and just a little chicken and rice there. Then after those 2 pieces of pizza at Paula's tonight I was stuffed. I actually felt sick. I used to could eat 2 or 3 times that much plus dessert before topamax. But I've quit losing. Plus... with Atkins I'll get the extra protein ... and I really need that!!! I'm just going to do it for a week or two. I've got some steaks and chicken breasts, salads and green beans ... all healthy stuff. I need to get my blood count up.

Have a losing day-Mima-by the way , I lost a pound and a quarter last week. Bet it's back on. Mima

Right, Candice, you can't put heating pad on with patches. When I have problem I usually sit on recliner with heating pad for a while then apply patch. (Or if not worst pain just put on patch.) It usually lets me get up and get moving, slowly at first. Of course some of the microwave wrap around heating pads do same - just more bulky and need to be renuked once in a while. I find one patch lasts the day usually. And can stay on during sleep safely.

You're right, Meme. With so little appetite as much as possible should go to building up your blood levels. Any weight loss is an added blessing but getting those levels up will do most to end fatigue. Thank God, dh's are almost there. He's limited to 10 oz total protein for the day and it's tough to get enough. Plus he's trying to gain not lose. Has put some wt on but eating things just for that, sweets, i.e. since they said he has no sugar problem but even that is limited in quantity since he can only have so much potassium, etc. But he's here and improving every day so this Father's Day was another special blessing.

Off today for an hour's drive to lunch with still working friends. Had dinner out last three days in a row and I SHOULD skip weigh in this week as I won't be thrilled. Slimfast for breakfast and I'll be ok on lunch I'm sure. Weather drier here today finally; hoping discomfort will get a bit better.

Good day, all.

Default Hey

We had a really quiet Fathers Day here. I cooked salmon and shrimp with brown rice and salad. No desert. We are all trying to watch the weight. Our daughter sent a card and some money to spend and called. Our son gave his dad a painting he did. It is really nice.
I use the Icy Hot all the time. I do use the hot pad too. I have never used the patches. I like to sit in a hot tub of water for a while first.Opens all the pores and helps the Icy Hot to do it's job.
Even though most of the weight is gone the arthritis is there to stay.
We have finally got some rain. My hubby is outside looking for grasshoppers . We kill everyone of those big ugly things we can . They will eat everything in site. Even the paint off the house. Bug killers are useless. A shovel or big foot is the answer.
Bye Joanne

I'm depressed. I'm really really achy today. More rain in the forecast ... Seems like it's either rained or been cloudy for months here. We haven't had any weather fit to be outside this year. Hardly any sun at all! I've been having to take pain meds. almost every day just to function. I ate a donut for breakfast instead of protein like I had planned. I'm weak! Just have no will power when I feel like this. I'll do better at lunch and dinner!!! I'm not going to let one donut set my whole day back!

Yikes Candice-that was funny!!!!We had to get up at 5 am cuz Brad had to meet someone at 7. I just made out a bill for $300 instead of $3-I don't know what these things cost-couplings!!!!They are .75 each. not $75 each. I worked on the books for hours yesterday and more today.I really enjoy it-I was a math teacher. And I walked with my weights also-what a good workout that is. Hope your back is better. Anemia-I read that cooking spaghetti sauce in an iron pot gives you iron Meme. I hope your blood gets up again soon. Bet you are busy Anne. Joanne-sounds like you had a good Father's Day-what nice kids. Poor Brad only got a card and tha6t was from My daughter-but we had a nice cookout. He's not that sentimental about holidays. He's the one that went into the grocery store to get roses for our anniversary. Hi to everyone, Anagram, Ally also. Mima

Meme, your last post says it all for me (down to the donut part anyway). I'm in the worst RA flare I've had for a long time and it is so fond of me it doesn't want to leave. Last week I turned down prednisone and told doctor I thought three sunny days in a row would take care of me but now I'm not so sure.

Gee, Candice, in our case that would make ME the vampire. Yuk!

But good on food, water and exercise yesterday. Not GREAT but good.

He may be, Candice. He is Diabetic and has to stick himself every day so he may be making up his loss by taking mine!

I know about the iron pots and pans, Mima. Oddly enough, a Dr. told me about them. I use them every chance I get for all types of food, not just spaghetti sauce. They really are a lot of bother, though. Can't put them in the dish washer and you have to grease them down after washing them a lot of the time. They are hard for me to lift, too as they are so heavy...and not good for my glass top stove.

We had more major thunder storms last night and more rain and more pain today. Will it never end? Anagram...might take more than 3 days for me...more like 3 weeks. I'm afraid that when it hits here now, though, that it will be sunny and like in the 90's - 100 and be so hot we won't be able to get outside and enjoy it. That's what usually happens.

I like the way the iron pans cook but they are too heavy for me to use anymore. Yes Meme..they are a pain to use!

I could hardley move when I got up so I did my stretching and went out to help DS do some more pruning form our stong winds, stuff that was too high and I could not reach it. Then we ate and DH mowed and I went for a long walk.
Forgot my pedometer so not sure how many miles but at least 3 and was on the move for over an hour and a half, had to stop and do some stretching along the way and my hip and back hurt so bad but I was determined I was gonna walk the pain away. When I got home I swept and moped the basement. The walk gave me more energy but did nothing for the pain. I was listening to the radio so my speed varried from slow to a moderate trot...(to different music). I would love to do this everyday..we will see how I feel tomorrow

Got rain in the forcast But the land needs a drink too!
