Hi guys-hope everyone is well-did you have a good birthday, Anne-going to be gorgeous today-60's -have an eye apt at 11:30 and they called to remind me-I asked if they heard about me going to the dentist at the wrong time-not much to say- I think the war is responsible for my waking up early every day and the continuation of the IBS. Good thing for naps and stomache pills. Bye for now. Mima

Well, I'm back. Fast trips like that just kill me. I'm achy! At least the weather held. It was really warm and sunny. Nice on the hill (cemetery) too. Usually it's windy and cool up there. My brother and grandparents are buried there and I always dread going up there. Saw all the relatives, as you say, it's always a way to get to see everyone at once. I was at the funeral home last night turned around talking to a first cousin I'm really close to (we call each other sister because we neither one have a sister). She was sitting two rows back. There was a little short man about 65 sitting directly behind me and I was kind of talking over his head. All of a sudden, just out of the blue he said. Do you know me. I looked at him really good and said, no...should I know you. He said...no. I just looked at him. My husband even turned around and looked at him but he didn't say anything else. Well...I thought that was kind of strange. I went on talking to my cousin/sister. Then all of a sudden he said did you ever know Oscar Shepherd. I said, well, yes, he was my grandfather. He said, he was my grandfather, too. I said well, I guess that must make us cousins then. He said did you ever know Milt Shepherd. I said yes, he was my Uncle. He said he was my Father. Here was a first cousin I had never even met...and there are dozens more like him scattered around. I met one at the funeral today that lives right here in TN. How weird is that!?

Well...hope you are all doing ok...Candice, hows the knee after your fall? How's your son working out? Not wearing you out I hope!

I'm going to bed and read until I fall asleep...which will be in about 3 minutes!!!

Thar's interesting about your cousin, Meme. Glad it was nice weather. It's been nice here. Going for a walk today with Auntie. Which is good because I have been working in the attic and I am very wheezy. Dust mites are my worst allergy. I need a gas mask like the soldiers have. The stuff I have been cleaning belonged to Brad's deceased wife-some of it is 20 years old but I guess someone will be cleaning up my stuff someday though I am pretty good about throwing stuff away-Pretty good-went to the eye doc and am getting a new prescription and made an appt with the doc on Friday to talk about a colonoscopy with all this IBS and diverticulosis-enough about that. Any way-hi to all-the snow is almost gone-it has been replaced by MUD! Mima

Angry Good morning.

It's going to be a nice sunny day today - cool though, only in the 30's, but the sun is so warm now, it feels warmer.

I had a great birthday. Don't feel my age at all :lol

Guess What? I have decided to try a parttime job and see what happens. I have no idea if I will be able to do it or not, but I won't know until I try. It is working for TanJay. I hope I can do it, because it would be nice to get out once and a while and be with lots of people. It is only 15-30 hrs. a week. Please wish me luck. If anything, it will be the arthritis in my back that won't allow me to continue. Daily, that has been feeling really good, but I still can't do much. Ah, well, try I will!

Meme - sorry to hear about your aunt. That was sure a fast trip. Like you say, you get to meet your relatives .

Mimi - hope they find out what it is. Are you eating something you shouldn't be? That does it for me.

Joanne - Hi. I suppose you are basking in nice warm temps right now.

Anagram, Ally and Candice - Where are you? Hope you are all well.

I don't know about eating something I shouldn't-had an ides it might be bananas-was great on Atkins diet except for the soy-still only maintaining-I love to work Anne-I love to interact with my friends-as long as you don't get worn out. Have to take the dog to the vet for his checkup-we gave him a bath last night=he was shaking-that's the same dog that will lay out in a snowstorm and sleep=he's a keischund-SP? looks like a huskie. He;s mad because we won't let him out but he will disappear. It's beautiful again-sure do appreciate it after this winter. Be good. Mima

Default Hey There

I hope all you nice people are going to have a great weekend. The weather here is really nice. They are predicting cooler weather this weekend. We may have some rain. I will believe that when I see it falling in my yard. It may rain a couple miles from here and we never get it .

But it tastes so good!!!Went to the docs and brought my list-I have to take stomache pills for the IBS and I am going to have a colonoscopy. Also said Atkin's was not good for people over 40. That's all I need to know-I should go back to weightb watchers-maybe I will. It's rainy today but warm . Brad has gone to church to help with cleanup-I ahve to go get prescriptions filled. That is so much work-I'll have to go into the dicount store while I wait!Ha!Bye for now-feel better Candice. Mima

Angry Boy oh Boy

Mima - isn't that funny what your Dr. said about Atkins. My Dr. said it is the only diet people should be on!!!! I don't believe anyone will ever agree on what is the best way to eat. What was your Drs. reason for saying that?

Candice - Was it deep fat fried? I can't eat anything like that without getting the IBS going great guns. I think it is because I no longer have a gallbladder.

Joanne - Good for you with that walking. I wish I could get myself motivated to do something.

I start work on Monday and will have about 21 hours next week. That should help some, as I will be moving around a lot more.

Everyoe have a good weekend. I am off to the city today. My little grand daughter's 5th birthday party is tomorrow. I can't believe she is getting so grown up.

Hi Guys. Busy week. My uncle died last week. The funeral was Sunday. My aunt is now alone for the first time ever. I worry about her. My brothe is looking for a laptop for her and then we will get her online. I may introduce her here. She doesn't have fibro but she has arthritis, and she was a weight watcher for years. I am sure you will like her.
Hope everyone is doing well. My vacuum cleaner died, gotta go try to get it fixed. I can't stand dirty carpets.

Default Hey There

Ally- Sorry to hear about your uncle 's passing..I wonder how widows handle things when they are left alone if not for their children and family members. A lot of times in these retirement communities there are men as well as women left alone with no one but the people around them. They have their own problems and can't take too much time with them...
Memi.. I love fried foods, and they always taste good, but they make me sick after I make a pig of myself. I always say never again. I don't eat fryed very often but now and then I get to craving it. Big Mistake!
Happy- I have to grit my teeth and make myself walk those miles. I always hurt like the dickens after ,but, I'm glad I do it. Good luck with your part time job. I hope you like it. What will you be doing? If I can be nosey?
Hello Candice, Anagram..Where are you? Meme.. Have you finished your decorating?
Bye ...Joanne

Default Y'all can't hide from me~

Hi, it always takes me a while to figure out there's a new thread unless I see a note saying so. Evenutally, I figure it out.

Sorry to hear of your losses, Ally & Meme. Always a time to rethink life, isn't it?

A new job, Happy? Good for you. Wish I had the get up to go and get up for one.

It's been a hellacious week here. Earlier this week we were waiting to hear from four of dh's doctors. Two lab reports were erroneous and one of them actually got his hope up that he'd be off dialysis. Wrong - dr. EVEN apologized for getting his hopes up before she checked it all out. He'll be having a surgical procedure on 4/11 which would be outpatient if he were not on blood thinners but he'll probably be hospitalized a week or so. They did, however cut his hours from 4 to 3 so there has been some improvement in kidney function, I'd think.

Daughter and family came last afternoon. Love them but.......
they were here about 26 hours minus the time they took this morning for a children's show, shopping and lunch. I'm exhausted. Have put everything back in place and dh brought supper in. so I'm trying to get myself geared up for a good week. But he has a fever. He's been fighting a cold for forever but fever scares me because if he has another infection, it'll be another setback.

Oh, shoot - onward and downward. Forgive the whiny post.

Have a good week, all.

That's ok-you are entitled to whine-that's what we are here for. Ally-I became a widow 12 years ago and it wasn't easy but my faith helped me a lot-plus I had friends and family-it takes time-look at me now-I never expected to have such a sweet husband-I tell him God saved the best for last. We are going to a train show today-his hobby=may be my first and last but it will be nice to get out and it's raining. Hope you enjoy your job Anne-21 hours sounds good. Hi to everyone. Mima

You all have such a good outlook on things, that is why I would want my aunt to come visit here.
Candice, my son who moved over to his father's is coming back home. That didn't last long. He is not coming back cause he wants to follow the rules, he wants to come home cause he wants food/laundry/clean house. I said that is fine, welcome home, but the rules are still enforced. I hate to say it, but I wish it had worked out with his father cause I like having only one kid.
It is snowing in NY today. This stinks. I was just getting back into my hiking routine!!!!
