Default Struggling So Bad

I can't begin to tell you how much my weight bothers me. I eat when I'm bored. I eat when I'm stressed. Ive been eating lots at night. Staying up late fighting sleep to waste time on the internet. I usually wind up eating more then I should. I wake up feeling depressed. I dont wanna wake up in the morning. I just wanna sleep all day. I don't do anything productive.

But I think about all the things I wanna do all day. While Im awake, its all I do. I think about being thin again. I think about learning to play the drums, keyboard and guitar and I look up the instruments "i wanna buy" all day. But I dont do any of it. Im 315lbs. The thought of how long its gonna takE me to lose the weight I want makes me feel so depressed I can feel it in my chest. It sucks all of my energy out and I just wanna go to sleep. I cnt find motivation. Not in words, not in videos, not in anything. I dont wanna live like this anymore.

I realize first hand that losing weight is a challenge, and if we focus on how much we need to lose it can seem almost impossible. My advice to you is do not think about the big picture. Instead, wake up everyday and think about one positive thing you can do for the day. Maybe, something as simple as going for a ten minute walk, or starting to journal. There are many things that you can do in small ways that will eventually lead to big results. If you fall off of the wagon, that is okay. Just start again at the next meal and strive to do better. I know that you can do this, the first step is always the hardest. . I have been where you are and I know that it can be a scary place. The way I see it, you can either stay on the path you are on now, or you can take charge and MAKE THAT CHANGE. Your dream can be your reality if you fight hard enough for it. Go get em girl...we all here are right here with you every step of the way.

If the depression continues, you may want to see your doctor for a referral for counselling and/or some meds (at least temporarily) until you start to feel better. I agree ... take some small steps towards positive change; like cut out the junkies and fast food meals for one day, then one week, etc. Plan out your grocery list and meals; this helps a lot -- being prepared is half the battle for some people.

Maybe join a group or eating plan that you like, which can give you some support, either in your community or online (this is a great place to start). We have lots of plans and groups on this site.

I know how this feels and I'm sorry you're going through it. I'm really happy with WW this time around and don't usually feel like I'm giving up much of the "good stuff".

Tack up reminders. Make a list of all the reasons you need & want to lose weight. Post them around so you can see them.

I know that "it's gonna take forever to lose weight" feeling. Just remember....if you don't start today, you'll look back in 6 months and think "Man I coulda been down 20 pounds by now!" so just start. Start and keep going. It's hard sometimes to not think about how long it'll take, but it'll take longer if you don't start.
