  • thanks everyone, I'm also bipolar which makes the med situation more difficult.
  • Good morning-Suzanne's plane was 2 hours late but 8 pm isn't bad and it was a safe flight/
Brad and I are going to pick up the wedding dress and the cake this am and meet them at 3 and go for a boat ride at 5. The weather is nice today. Clouds tomorrow. they are getting married at Lover's Key. there is a gazebo in case it rains. Hi all-gotta wash my hair.
  • Oh Lord, Anne.....my poor diet is shot big time after that last set of visitors! They are from the "old school" of cooking....you know, the butter, carbs, bread etc. I did use all whole wheat products and olive oil but the French meat pies with tomato chutney was the real thing....and that candy recipe of my GF's was decadent. I'm going to make one batch myself of this buttercrunch and put it ALL in little Valentine bags and give it away. I feel just humongous after this past week! I definitely need to get back to phase 1 of SB or I will be in big trouble. I just need some motivation....been very tired and sore lately.
Weather has gotten a bit warmer here and we are suppose to have a beautiful weekend. I will watch the Super Bowl with hubby on Sunday but I told him no cooking or eating bad stuff! Maybe a few cocktails but no junk food! My neighbors may come over. He has been re-diagnosed with cancer again....this is the 3rd round for him. He starts chemo again next week. He doesn't look too well and I think it has spread quite a bit. He's been a real trooper in the fight though. I'm hoping for the best for him and his family. I've been helping him do some computer stuff and faxing out some paperwork. I think he is tying up some loose ends.....how depressing is that? It's been making me think too much which isn't helping my efforts to get back to the diet either. Depresses me to think about his demise. Unfortunately, I believe it is imminent. I try not to dwell on it but it is difficult when he is right there in my garage with hubby or in the livingroom having a beer.
Sounds like everyone will have a busy weekend. I hope the weather is nice for the wedding, Mima. Enjoy the festivities. Off to do some food shopping. Making a shephard's pie casserole for dinner....hubby's request. A big salad on the side. Hope everyone enjoys their day.
  • thanks Kate-rain in the forecast but there is a gazebo. We went on a nice boatride last night-saw pelicans and dolphins. Suzanne and I are off to get our nails done. I will post tomorrow. Sad about your neighbor, Kate. Mima
  • Lottie, I think talking to a rheumatologist would still be a good idea. They could work with your other doctor about meds.

Mima, will you post pictures of the wedding? I saw several dolphins when I was at Jekyll Island.

Kate, I feel humongous too today. So sorry to hear about your neighbor. It's so hard to watch them go downhill.

A 14 year old girl from near here has cancer, and Hospice has been coming to the house the past week. At the basketball game tonight, the cheerleaders and players from both schools were supposed to do a tribute to Kirsten. We are having lots of snow, so the game has been cancelled. I don't know if she will still be here when the game is rescheduled. She has been looking forward to it.

I had trouble at class because my knee was bothering me. Didn't think I was doing that much, but I was sweating, my heartrate was up, and according to the watch I burned 600 calories.

The snow started as I was leaving home for the Y this morning. I just heard we could possibly get 10-14 inches of snow. Yuck.

Tim went to school this morning, saw several cars in the ditch, and the roads just kept getting worse. He turned around. Just got back in town about 30 minutes ago. He is emailing his professor (same one for 2 classes) to tell her why he missed class. It takes him a little over an hour on a good day. Today it was about 2 hours, and he wasn't even there yet. Glad he is back home. He is on rescue squad duty tonight. That scares me knowing that he could be driving the ambulance in this stuff.

I've already shoveled once to make a spot for Maurice, and I think I'm going to be shoveling several more times.
  • The pain center called me, I have an appt on the 19th. the doc has horrible reviews online, but locally someone said she's a b!tch, but that you don't interact with her that much, and that her program is physical therapy, therapy, and seeing a psychiatrist. this sounds good for me. so I will try her out. She is a neurologist and a psychiatrist. Which sounds perfect for me, I just hope she's not a total disappointment.
  • Hey There
Welcome Lottie, I hope you do find the right Dr. for you..
Hello all, I got my l/leg brace yesterday. It is not the most attractive thing I have worn, but, if it does the job that will be okay.At my age it isn't as if I am going to do a runway..I will have to change some of my wardrobe. My brother thinks I can wear it on the outside of my jeans. I am not sure I want to do that. As soon as I can get to Joanne's Fabric store I will get a couple pieces of denim and make some pants. I cut out 3 pairs of culottes today.
It is going to be in the mid to lower 40's here tonight. That is cold to me. I got out my warm nightgown HA!It will soon be back to the 60's and 70's.
    Have a Great Weekend...Joanne
  • Hi-the wedding was cloudy for half and a pouring for the other half. A beautiful ceremony. Pam and Bob had to stay in the rain while the photographer took pics. Then we went to an awesome restaurant and dried off. Now we are heading to the airport at 5 am. for Suzanne. I am planning on being tired foa a couple of days. I haven't downloaded my pics yet. Mima
  • Lottie, you'll have to keep us posted on the new doctor. Wishing you the best!

Joanne, glad to hear you finally have the brace! Hope it does the trick!

Mima, too bad about the rain for the wedding. I'm sure you will be very tired for a couple of days.

We are still under a Level 3 snow emergency, which means don't be on the roads unless it is emergency people and those needing to get to work. There are still roads that are not passable because of the drifting. Plows just can't keep up with it. The people came yesterday afternoon late and cleaned the driveways on our street. I wasn't planning on leaving, but it's good to know that I can if I need to. Of all the counties in this part of Ohio, ours got hit the worst with the snow. Thank goodness we haven't lost power like other places.
  • Wow for that storm. Hope you get cleared out soon. Everyone got home safely. Back to reality-Suzanne was unhappy to go home but I will see her in 3 weeks. Sorry-I am happy for the Saints. Got to face the music at Waist watchers. I did go walking for 6 days. And we are having a pot luck at Sunday school. Bye for now-Mima
  • Hooray! We can get out now!!! I'm heading to the Y for class then to the store to get a few things. New forecast: 5-8 more inches of snow by Wednesday afternoon. Oh boy!

Mima, glad to hear they all got home safely. Good for you on the walking!
  • It's hard to continue to diet. Gained a pound-not bad. We are going to Chic Filet tonight-never been , Then church. I bet you are snowed in gain, Tammy.
I am having cataract surgery in one eye next Tues. I pd 1200 for a special lens that gets rid of my astigmatism. No glasses. But in the meantime, I will have to only see clearly out of one, Hope to get the other after I come home from the shower. Bye guys-Mima
  • Yep, we're snowed in again. They are pulling the snow plows off the roads till morning. The snow is blowing and drifting everywhere.

Mima, that sounds good about the special lens.

Hope all of you are doing well.
  • Hey There
I watched the opening of the Winter games last night. I got tired and didn't see all the teams come in. I will watch some today.. I am not a person to just sit and watch T.V. I am usually doing something else while it is on. Reading, sewing, etc.
    Happy Valentines Everybody..Joanne

  • Hi. Mima - good luck with that eye surgery. Pray all goes well for you. Glad the wedding went off ok, but too bad it had to rain.

Tammy - have you dug yourself out yet??? My goodness, the eastern states really got hit, didn't they. We rarely get snow like that here. Haven't really had any snow for over a good month. Just stays below freezing, so it never melts. It's ok, because it is good ground cover and will be good in the Spring. it is only on the ground, not the roads or sidewalks etc.

Joanne - how is the new brace working out? I watched the opening as well, and say al lot of the teams, but didn't see the USA and Canada It takes sooooo long to get through them, and I think I switched the channel. Too bad about the death of that yourng man from GEorgia. One fatality is one to many!

    Everybody have a nice day.
