Hi Girls,

I have had a lovely day today and feel quite good in general. I have been doing a bit of research into my illness and came up with some interesting facts. Candida and hypothyroidism go hand in hand I did not know that and also all the fibromylgia groups fit into this. Now I know why I have been in such pain and unble to do anything. After reading Dr McNetts report I am now going to change my way of eating to low carb and cut out anything in yeast products. It will be hard because the mainstay of my food is Mushrooms and I love fresh crusty bread but if it will stop this pain I will do it.
You are light years ahead of us about treating this illness but the doctors just look at you when you dare to suggest that they might read up on it. I did get weighed this month but stayed the same so I suppose no news is good news.
Hope you are all keeping well and jobs and hobbies are good. I have decided my winter progect this year will be to learn some spaniish!!!!!!
love to all,
Vivienne

Default Dieting with problems

Thank you Lisa for your kind thoughts. I have learnt to live with it but near Christmas and Birthdyas it hurts. I have had a lovely day today. Have been on the sea all day on a trip to Wareham which is a very old town where Romans had forts in 54BC. It was run by the Marines for us and they bought us all fish and chips for lunch which was very good, so much for trying low carbs still really will have to start tomorrow. I am getting about again now just got me down for a week or so. My son has sent me an e.mail tonight and has said he is sorry for they way he has behaved so we shall wait and see what heppens next.

Tizme I know what you mean about B-days and x-mas being lonely. My father passed away and my sister was raped and murdered, the only family I have left is a sister and my mom. I also, have my husband and my 4 yr. old daughter and 2 yr. old son. My husband is from the Middle East and we met in college. So holidays are really different, because he didn't grow up with the same ones I did. It makes for an interesting life and I've traveled a lot and lived in Saudi Arabia as well, as Bahrain. I want you to know you are not alone and I'm here for you to chat with. I hope that things go good with you and your son. I turn 38 on Friday and I'm going to eat cake and have some fish. One day won't hurt, atleast I'm hoping it won't. Lisa999

Happy Birthday, Lisa...have some cake and fish, like you said we have to have one day we can let go. Just get back with it tomorrow. Lonely holidays, I know what they are - there is just me and my husband. We live in a military area so try to have several servicemen for the day. I like to think we are making their holiday more pleasant since they can't get home.

Well, ladies, Labor Day is here signalling the end of summer. Won't be long until Thanksgiving and Christmas so it's time to start thinking how we are going to handle the barrage of goodies that will be around during those times. Any ideas or good recipes?

I'm going to lose 5 pounds in September and October to give myself a cushion for some treats. This is the only time of the year I make some of the ethnic specialties my husband and I grew up on and I'm not going to give that up.

Tizme Glad you had a nice weekend. Quilter The idea of 5 lbs. in Sept. and 5 in Oct. sounds good for the holidays. I like the idea of thinking and planning ahead. I wish I had some recipes to share, I don't and from the sounds of you, you are a crafty person and I bet a good cook. I bet Tizme is too. I enjoyed my 38th B-day. I ate cake and chili and spaghetti. I decided to safe the fish for another day. I'm still holding at 178 lbs. and really happy about all the changes I made this year. It looks like my 38th year is off to a good start.
