Fibromyalgia #175
Good afternoon. I think it's time to start a new thread, as we are already at page 7.
Mima - your daughter made a lovely bride. The wedding sounds like it was nice, but now it's over and you can relax. It IS fun to plan them, however. I loved doing it when my daughter got married. Hope you get right as rain soon, and I also pray that your aunt will get the help she needs. Isn't Josh moving at the end of this month? Surely he must give you a months notice from the beginning of the month, the same as you have to give him! Tammy - I take it you had a good weekend. Soon you will be leaving for Orlando - AGAIN!!! Hope you and Tim have fun, as I am sure you will. Joanne - I think you need to send your puppy for obedience classes. He is soon old enough to know better, I think. Are you finished with all the bathes for him, now? Go get your toenail looked after, because you sure don't want it infected. Meme - good to see you back for a bit. Hope you don't stay away so long, we miss you when you are gone. The darn weather is so up and down here. Can't decide if it wants to be Spring or Winter. It wreaks havoc with my poor body. It is pain central right now, and I wish it would go away. Got some Pain Erase and it does help with the pain, but it makes me cold. Anybody have that problem with all the rubs?? Hope everybody is having a decent day. |
Hey There
Christie has settled down some.. I just keep firm control on her . The baths are done as far as I am concerned. She still has a few red spots but I am hoping they will go away.
The toe is sore.. I have been soaking it and pouring alcohol and peroxide on it. I did go to a podiatrist for all the good it did.. She just said be sure and cut straight across.. Duh!! I cut down in the corner because it grows ingrown..I don't think I got all the nail out and it got sore.. When it heals enough to not hurt so bad I will give it another try. Hello Everybody...Joanne |
Anne, thanks for starting the new thread!! I agree about the weather. It was about 32 this morning, this afternoon it was 65. I haven't had the problem with the rubs with getting cold. I rarely get cold anymore. I tell Bob it is an age thing. Yes, Tim and I will be leaving on Monday. Bob and I went to Muncie tonight to pick up some of Tim's stuff so he won't have so much to bring home on Sat. night. His futon wouldn't fit in his car anyway, so we had to go for that.
Joanne, I remember having ingrown toenails when I was a kid. OUCH! |
Great to be back to FL, Tammy. What a nice picture, Anne-I pictured you with dark hair.
Hey Tammy, can you go to Ft Myers and pick up the pics I sent their at Walmart by mistake-I was supposed to send them here. At least they are not Wedding pics and we will be down there on the 29th and will be at Walmart that day, We told Josh at the same time he told us but I suggested that he use his last month's rent to pay for some of the money he owes us, I guess he is going to because he says he will be out in a couple of days. We are chalking it up to a learning experience. I even let him set up his router again -it's also his phone. Joanne-do you have any toenail clippers that almost look like scissors-that's what I use to get the toenail out. I am sure the podiatrist would do it different-and put some betadyne on it after you soak. Mine is just a lot of thick stuff-I need to go to the podiatrist but I am going to too many docs right now, Today I will see about my back. Adveritising the camper in Toronto and Montreal And around here=all I got was a scheme to get money. They give you a check for more money and then you cash it and give them money back, Craig's list says to watch out for that so I said cash only. Duh! Sue and Jim are not going away. He is leaving on the 14th and will be away for 40 days and then come back for 4, and then the big sendoff. Thank God he is going to Kuwait, But nowhere is safe, Bye for now-Mima |
Good morning.
Mima - I actually did have darker hair, when it was my own color. It is now pretty gray, but the color I have in the picture is not too bad. When we bought the car in the USA, we had to wire the money to him before hand, and that worked out just fine. It can be a real headache for a Canadian purchasing a vehicle or trailer in the US. You have to have all the documentation at the US border 72 hours prior to going through it. You need the bill of sale, the original owner title, and a capasal of other things. We just NOW finished getting the car registered; Carfax said their was NO recall on this car, but Vintage Cars Canada said their was. It's for those stickers that have to be on the windvisor to tell you to look on the back for the airbag instructions. It isn't even needed in Canada. It took them a MONTH before they finally let it go. It was NEVER a recall IN Canada. Anyway, the car is now Canadian. Are you going back to Florida, Mima? Also, how was your cruise? Any pictures? Tammy - Is Tim finished for this term? I guess you are looking forward to having him home again. I really liked the Orlando area, especially Cape Canaveral and Coco Beach area. Loved it there. Hi Joanne and Meme. Have to run, as it is a work day. Have a good one. |
Mima, I don't think we'll be in Ft. Myers while we are there. Otherwise I'd stop in and get them for you. Someone else did that recently, but I can't remember who it was.
Anne, Tim finished his exams yesterday, but he has to stay until Saturday night to check out residents of the dorm and do room checks. He figures he should be home by midnight on Saturday. After all of the residents are gone, they have a meeting for all of the staff members. He will be doing the same job next year as of right now. He has had several problems these past few weeks with the guys on his floor. He can't wait to get away from them!! He only did the job 2nd semester, but the guy who did the job 1st semester was a bad role model. He would drink with the guys on the floor and they were all underage. I guess he caused quite a few problems before he lost his job. We are doing house cleaning today. Bob's nieces will be here tomorrow. One is from Chicago, the other one is from Tampa. The one from Chicago hasn't seen us in several years, so I know it will be a shock when she sees Bob since he doesn't look or act like himself anymore. |
God morning- I love that hair color Anne. Wow-Brad is home for a few days-getting stuff done.
Well that sure sounds like a hassle to get a vehicle across. Josh had to take a trip to the border when his furniture came. This time he is going to Arizona til September. I guess he won't neesd heat there. He is moving Monday and flying out on Wed. We are going to offer him our air mattress. Well, every doc I go to finds something else/yesterday i was tokd I had scoliosis and I have hyper mobility-it's the opposite of stiff and harder to treat. That's why I tore my rotator cuff doing yoga stretching. I have 12 sessions of therapy coming up and then go back in 2 months to see if I still need a brace or orthotics. I go for my first session today. The doc was so funny-a joke a minute. He praised me for my attitude about fibro-said I should talk to his other fibro patients- I said you can't give up and lay on the couch and take drugs. For sure-nome of us do that. Bobby called and invited me for Mother's day-Suzanne and Jim will be there. It's halfway to their house. Bye for now-Mima Busy-busy we all are!!!!! |
Hey There
Went to dr. today. I thought he was going to inject my knee.. Instead he set me up for a few tests..Then he said he would inject the knee..They had me come in early so I think he just needed to get out of the office..He said I had a cist and a lot of athritis in the knee.. Yeah something I didn't know..HA I told him if I needed a new knee I didn't want to wait till it was too hard to rehab..
Your hair color is much the same as mine ,Happy.. But I was blond when I was younger. It got darker as I got older. I colored it darker but never seem to cover the grey,, So back to the blond . The white blends in. Took care of the ingrown toe nail.. Good till the next time.. have a good weekend everybody..Joanne |
Well, mine is blonde also=it does blend in. Meme is the only one with dark and it looks beautiful too. Mine was mousy brown but I started doing the frosting a long time ago, It;s cheaper because you don't have it done often.
Go for the knee-Joanne. I went to Pt for the evaluation-ouch-she made me do all kinds of things-my legs are weak and I walk a lot???? 2X a week. And at home. Hey Tammy at Disney!!!! Gotta get the rest of the gifts for the party tomorrowe plus Al's bd-she will be 18 on Friday. Mike called-she had an MRI for an hour because her back hurts, She def needs PT because of the way she has to sit, She also got a new wheelchair. Glad your toenail is better-Joanne, Bye for now Mima |
Mima, hope the therapy goes well. My hair is dark also with some gray thrown in when I haven't colored. lol
Joanne, I am wondering about asking the dr. about injecting my left knee when I go in Aug. The right one is fine. I know tomorrow will be busy getting ready to leave on Monday early, so I don't know if I'll be back on here. We get in late next Saturday night. Tim called and he'll be home about midnight tonight. |
Have a great time, Tammy. It's still raining-bah humbug. We went to the restaurant where we had our first date-the second time around-to clebrate our anniversary. We had gone out a few times 2 years before that but Brad had someone else and he had some lessons to learn. Haha-Then again, so did I.
Birthday party today-it's the cake and potato chip party for 4 people. Finally got all the gifts. Haven't heard from the bride for a few days=they are on their honeymoon. Going to read the paper before Sunday school. Mima |
Hey There
Tammy- If the knee is hurting ask him.. Mine didn't get injected yet. So it is to the pain pills that don't help.Have a good trip..
Mima- You won't hear from the bride for awhile,if it is anything like my son.. He seldom calls. They are so involved with each other and work..Be glad for the rain.. We aren't getting any down here.. Send some to us.. Tomorrow I go for a chest xray..Tuesday I go for a swallowing exray.. He thinks I may have a obstruction in my throat.. Reflux dx..That could be the cause of cough and chest pain..RUSTY YEARS!! Hello Meme,Happy..Joanne |
Joanne, I hope they find something they can fix!The best to you/ Rain gobe and nice weather for a few days. I have a bad sore throat. Don't have tome to be sick.
Josh is moving-praying for no surprises. The party was good-got to see Keith-he is so cute-he walks like a weeble. And the new baby. Spent some time talking to Brad's sister and Brett-etc. His other sister is having problems with her stomache and daughter trying to take care of her, work and go to school. What a situation. Another busy week-2 PT appointments, car serviced-lunch on Wed and marriage group coming Friday night. Then the weekend. How did I have time to work. Hi all. Mima |
Good morning.
Had a great weekend. Went to Edmonton, as it was DIL birthday, and my hubby's. Went out for dinner on Saturday night, had a family get together yesterday with bcake. The best was playing with my little gdaughter. She is just so darn cute and funny. I can't believe she will be 2 yrs. old on the 21May. Time just goes so fast. No baby left. Of course, I also enjoyed my two older gkids - I have good conversations with Ashley (my first baby). James, well what can I say. He is just busy and very different from the girls. Mima - you are busy, but that is what keeps one young. Seniors no longer sit in a rocker and knit! When I had my mobile clothing store business, we went to all the seniors lodges, and nursing homes in Alberta. I NEVER realized how many 100 year old people there were and they were healthy! It was great to see. Joanne - glad you took care of your toe. Now, they just need to take care of the knees. It's always something going on, isn't it! I would love to have my hair a bit darker, but it is hard to cover the gray, and then you would be having to get it done very often to keep the gray covered. The blond allows it to blend in. I was a blondie, with natural curly hair until I was about 12, and then my hair started to change color, and it lost the curl, but retained great body. My hair LOVES humidity. I wouldn't really have to do anything with it for days, if I lived in a humid place. Also, my skin loves humidity. Just the old bones and muscles than don't. Tammy, I guess, is away having fun in Florida again. Meme - Hi, if you pop in. Hope your day is going well. Wish you would come more often, as I miss you. We have been together for a long time now! Here is a little blippy thing I got in my e-mail today on diabetes. I am sure that you all know this but I am posting it anyway. ** How You Could Control Your Blood Sugar Before it Controls You -- by Cate Stevenson, BA When you have problems with your blood sugar, you have to pay close attention to the effect food has on your body. Having diabetes means that you may have to adjust the amount and type of food you eat in order to keep your blood glucose levels within a normal range. When you eat carbohydrates, proteins and fats, they are digested and broken down into glucose. This can cause your blood sugar to spike. The tricky part is that each of these food groups is broken down in the body at different rates and therefore affects blood glucose levels differently. So which food affects blood glucose levels the most? If you guessed carbohydrates, you're right. Your body is capable of breaking down 100% of sugars and starches (two common carbs) into glucose in about two hours. In the past, diabetics were warned not to have any sugar in their diet. But medical researchers now know that both sugar and starch are broken down into glucose at the same speed. The issue has now become not what kind of carb you eat, but the total amount of carbs in your diet. The more carbs you eat, whatever the source, the more your blood glucose levels are affected. Proteins and fats will affect your blood glucose levels less than carbohydrates. Researchers have been able to determine that only about 50% of proteins are eventually broken down into glucose. This process usually takes three to five hours. Only about five percent to 10% of fat is changed into glucose. It takes your body six to eight hours to do this. However, fat still plays a role in elevating blood glucose. It blocks the action of insulin, speeding up the time it takes for food to travel through your intestines. You'll want to be careful with fats, because, although your blood sugar may not rise initially, it might spike after a few hours. Try to figure out how your body responds to different foods. Keep a diary. With a little bit of effort, you should be able to determine which foods, in which combinations, make your blood glucose rise rapidly. Remember that insulin works with the foods you eat. If you can balance things out, this is the best way to control diabetes. If you eat too much food for the insulin level that is available to you, your blood glucose level will be too high. On the other hand, if you eat too little, your glucose level will be too low. |
What a good article and so informative.
No surprises when the moving truck came. I went out in the yard and then Brad came home and he hung around-talked to the mover. The end of a learning chapter. I have pt at 8:30-I did a little raking and I am sore. Whatever the function is-it';s the kids that make me happy too. Keith was so cute on Sunday and Evan was hysterical at the wedding. Bye for now-going to order a long overdue Netti Pot. Mima |
I have been so sick. I have had a sore throat since Sunday-but then I had a major attack of diverticulitis which knocked me for a loop. I am sure I got dehydrated. And now I can't eat so I am so weak. Only stay up for 15 minutes at a time. Going to try to get to doc's for my throat. Had to cancel marriage group. I know what caused the diverticulitis-eating something I shouldn't have and the getting constipation. There is more but it's too much information.
Tammy is in FL-Al is 18 today. And what are you all doing? The ned of the beautiful weather is here for at least a week. Mima |
Poor Mima ... hope you're feeling better today.
My allergies are going crazy. Plus it has been raining a lot here ... doesn't help the arthritis and fibro any. Hmmm ... rusty years. That's it ... need oiling. :p Yep ... I have dark hair. And I think often that I'll have it stripped and let it go solid white. Get tired of coloring it all the time. Everytime I mention it to someone they go balistic on me ... say I wouldn't look right. What is right? I think everybody would get used to it. I have 2 teenage girls coming to work for me tomorrow. They were whining around the church a couple of weeks ago about needing money for a youth trip. I asked them how much they needed & they said $250. I was busy last Sat. so I told them I wouldn't just give them money but if they would come over this Sat. I would put them to work. I'm going to let them work for 6 hours (if I can stand them for that long.) ;) I'm going to have them clean out my car and hubby's truck, give the dog a bath, clean out the aquarium, clean all the furniture and especially clean my piano room. I need the stairs cleaned down and the front porch and deck furniture cleaned, too. Should be a good day's work for them and then I can take it easy next week. I'm going to give them $10 a hour each. It will help them and me as well. Then, tomorrow night (if I'm able after dealing with them all day) we're supposed to go down to the Boat Dock for fish with a group from church. The Boat Dock has a floating restaurant and excellant catfish. I'll have to be careful what I eat tomorrow. I lost a few pounds last week, don't want to gain those back. I'm finding it harder and harder to lose just a few pounds. And yet it creeps back on so easily. Have a great Sat. ladies. |
Smart lady to hire the girls-except most teenagers need to be watched.
I am up to eating rice-gatorade-rice cakes. Went to doc's and he gave me Ammoxocillin. He didn't check my stomache though. Missing a bd party for Angelina-age 1-today but Auntie's bash is next week. So I will see her then but she doesn't know it. They did an upper gi and colonoscopy on her yesterday-she is so glad it's over. Only a little stomache irritation was found. Doc wants to know why she's anemic-They take so long to do anything!!!!!!!! I definitely have more strength-just waiting for the sore throat to get better. I lost 4 pounds. It's been rainy here too but supposed to clear up. zHappy Mother's day. Mima |
Hey There
Mima- I sure hope you are feeling better. I had swallowing and upper gi this week and now the ibs has kicked in. All that barium I had to drink ,I think. No fun..
Meme- Good for you being able to get girls to help you.. That's what I need to do. The hubby won't let anyone in the house to do it.. We had a guy to do the yard and ofcourse he wasn't happy with the way he did it ,so no more him.You are right ,I always say the rusty years. Hello Happy, Tammy. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY EVERYONE Joanne |
I didn't ask my husband. I'm the one having to do the cleaning and it's my money I'm paying the girls with so it's actually none of his business. I'm pooped. One girl got here at 8:30 but the other didn't get here until 11. They stayed until 4:30 but didn't work the whole time. I took them to Subway & bought their lunch. Their parents need to teach them some work habits. They talk too much, they text on the phone too much and they goof off too much. I can get 10 times the work done that they got done. I didn't really expect them to get a lot done because they are teenagers but, gee whiz! :p OH Well. I still got quite a bit of work done today between the three of us and I feel good about helping them out. One of the girl's is my best friend's daughter. Her dad went with us to the Boat Dock to eat tonight and he told me I paid her way too much. He said, I KNOW she didn't work enough to earn that much because I KNOW how she works! ;) :D Guess he knows his daughter pretty well. LOL Ginger got mad at both of them. They gave her a bath, dryed her with the hair dryer (oooo she hates that) and combed her out (hates that even more). She had been all over them before they did that and when they said give me a kiss she'd lick their cheek, etc. After the bath she wouldn't have anything to do with them. Soooo funny. They'd pick her up and say, give me a kiss and she'd turn her face the other way. I had to laugh at them when they asked me what was wrong with her. They didn't believe me when I told them she was mad at them. She was barely back to 'speaking' when they left this afternoon. :p
|
That's funny. When Brad hires 2 people, they don't work as hard as one. maybe next time. But at least you got something done. I had 2 girls rake and one did all the work.
My throat is still sore-can't swallow without extreme pain. The antibiotic should have kicked in, Maybe it's a virus and then wouldn't an antibiotic make it worse. My stomache is better and I ate somewhat yesterday but I am losing weight-not a good way to lose it but.... Have a nice Mother's Day. mima |
Anne, good information about the blood sugars. Thanks for posting it!!
Mima, hope you are feeling better!!! Meme, I like that about needing oiling! I have felt that way so many times with my knee. Good idea about hiring the girls to help you out. Too bad they didn't get more accomplished for you. That is soooooooo funny about Ginger! Joanne, you need to feel better too! I just need to rest! Disney was wonderful, but I am really tired from everything. We got there on Monday morning, and we got started right away. We went back to the hotel about 7:00 because we were tired. We thought we would nap a short while, then head either to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot for the fireworks at 9:00. I woke up about 2:00 AM. The lights were on in the room, and we were both still dressed. I just rolled over and went back to sleep. We finally got up about 8:00 on Tuesday. So much for Monday's fireworks!! I wore my pedometer each day, and 15,000 was the lowest amount of steps for the days we were there. Lots of walking, that's for sure. I have a blister on the ball of my right foot. Aerobics should be interesting in the morning. We got home about 2:00 this morning. Tim's suitcase didn't make it to our house until 8:15 tonight. It decided to stay in Atlanta a while longer. Then we got stopped by police in a little town coming home. Apparently there was a 25 MPH sign, and Tim was driving about 35. Neither one of us saw it. I mentioned Tim's lost luggage to the officer and that we had just come from the airport. He gave Tim a warning. I think it helped having this old lady with him. lol |
Hooray for the warning-Disney is sure a busy place. Love to go with Alison cause we get to go to the front of the lines. She and her mom deserve it but we don't=oh well.
Throat still bad-it's been more than a week-def not helped by the antibiotics, What to do????? Going for PT and Massage. Work on Thurs and Friday-really want to make it. Went to Bobby's for Mother's Day and gf's parents were there plus her br and Sil and Sue Jim and Meranda. Her parents are really nice. BR has a 9 month old baby and he sure got a lot of attention. Mom and Dad bought a place in Brandon. It's hard to believe all the changes in our family. Jim's job is much more dangerous than I thought. He flies to where the helicopters are broken and fixes them. So he might be in Iraq or Afghanistan at any given moment. He;s leaving SAt for training.I told her she would grow stronger. She would rather have him here. Bye for now Mima |
I over-did myself over the weekend and have paid for it the last couple of days ... as always. Sunday was another busy day. Went to church with my kids (since they won't come to church with me) and they go to the early service. Then we all went to El Tapatio's to eat ... Mexican if you can't guess by the name. Then hubby and I had to go to visit his mom and take her some flowers for Mother's Day. I came home and went to bed about 3:30 and didn't get up until 8. He came in the bedroom about 5:30 and asked me if I was going back to church and I told him, No ... I was pooped. I almost never miss church but there comes a time when I have to rest or else. I have now hit that time.
I'm getting so sick of hearing about, eating with, breathing and living with trailers. Seems that all I do. Phone calls and people coming during the day then hubby come home and that's all he wants to talk about. He answers the customers calls as late as 9 at night and when they want to come at 8 or 8:30 he tells them, ok. But it's not ok with me. We were at him mom's Sun. and had a customer call him and say he was sitting in our driveway so we had to leave. I told him to tell the guy it was Sun. and Mother's Day to boot and he was at him mom's. He wouldn't. I had a talk with him tonight about it and told him there had to be a cut off point. I told him we had already had this conversation a couple of times before but it didn't 'take' and I also told him if he didn't start 'cutting it off' at night and on Sundays we were going to have to get rid of the trailers because this is not the life I want to live. This is not a life at all ... it's all work. He's going to have to tell people NO and MAKE them respect our private time. This is not just a place of business it is also our home and people will just run over you if you don't tell them no. Tammmy, sounds like you had a great time. I wish we could go somewhere for about a month. We need to but can't get away from here for more than one night. So Sad!!! Mima, I sure hope you feel better. I don't know what to tell you to do except call the Dr. or go back and tell him what's going on. HI Joanne and Anne. Have a good Wednesday everyone. I'm going to a luncheon at the hospital ... Daughter is the guest speaker. Thursday I have to pick Ross up at 2 and Jenna at 3. Saturday Garrett has a guitar recital. I'm sure someone will think up something for me to do on Friday before it rolls around. :p |
Hey meme-all Brad talks about is his work from morning to night, he gets on the phone late and yak yak yak, He has no boundaries around it, My son will NOT answer the phone at night or on Sunday, That's the way to do it,
I talked to doc and he put me on Cipro. I hope it works-supposed to go to work tomorrow, The prayer group prayed for me so that's good. Going to get the car serviced-it's far away but our serevice warranty is up so we can go closer next time. Rested up yet tammy. Hi Joanne and Anne. Mima |
Mima, when I went to Disney in 2006 I used a wheelchair. They didn't allow us to go to the front of the lines in many areas, but other places we did. I couldn't believe that I was able to do as much as I did this trip. We were on the go constantly! I have a card out for a massage place near here that I had forgotten about. The owner had served on an Emmaus team with me a few years ago. She knows about the fibro, so I plan to give her a try. The little card is for $5.00 off which is a plus. Mima, Tim was on cipro a few years ago. It worked for him.
Meme, I can understand how you need to get some rest and that you can't do everything. I have spent more time in bed this week since we got home. I have only been to 1 class at the Y out of the 4 classes that I should have been to. My dad had a milk delivery business when I was growing up. I can remember my mom having the same conversation with my dad about the calls at night and on Sundays. He didn't want to hurt someone's feelings. There comes a time though when you just have to say enough is enough. You deserve your time away from the business even if it is right there at your home. People should understand that, but they don't. I wish you could get away for a few nights! How was the luncheon, and how was that guest speaker????? Tim is cooking supper tonight. He starts work at Arby's tomorrow afternoon. It is the same one where he worked during high school. The manager talked to my brother and he is thrilled to have Tim back. He's a good worker. Tim isn't going to be an RA next year in the dorm. His grades suffered this semester, and we told him that it isn't worth messing up his grades to get his room and board free. We'll swing it somehow. He'll still work part time in the dorm like he did his freshman year and first semester this year. Much less stress involved, that's for sure. Hello to all!! |
The guest speaker was marvelous ... and I'm not a bit preprejudice, of course. ;) I was so proud of her. She started out telling why she became a MT (massage therapist) and LTMT (Licensed Theraputic Massage Therapist). She told them the reason was sitting right there with them then pointed at me and introduced me as her mother. She then told them that when she was a child I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid and OsteoArthritis and as I would go to therapy sessions with different doctors and therapists, I would come home and show her the techniques they used and the different exercise I had to do and get her to help me with them. She said she worked with me and also massaged my muscles until my next appointment and my illness intrigued her so much she decided that is what she wanted to do. She used me for a demonstration, too ... of tense shoulder muscles. Mine are always hard as rocks! :p I had no idea she was going to do all that. She didn't warn me. I told her afterward the only bad thing was she only did one shoulder ... now she owes me! :D
It's supposed to rain all day tomorrow. Think I'll just stay in bed all day. Oops, can't ... have to get the kids. Price I have to pay for her business picking up I guess! :p She got several appointments today after the luncheon. I'm so glad she is finally 'launched'. I was worried for a while there. But now besides having her own place at a new beauty shop in town, she is doing theraputic massage at one of the Chiropractor's in town one day a week and also giving chair massages at one of the factories a half-day every Friday so it looks like she is well on her way to an established business. If she's not careful, she'll get so booked up she won't have time to give her mom a massage! Mima ... hope the Cipro works for you and you can get some relief. Hey, Tammy. Believe it or not I remember when you went to Disney and used that wheelchair. Can't believe we've been 'together' that long. Anne and I go waaaaay back. Don't even know how long but a long time. What the heck happened to Candice? We go way back, too. She just disappeared on us. I get an email from her now and then but she hasn't been in here in forever. I'll have to email her and see where she is. HI Joanne. How's Christie doing with the rash? Ginger is still Ginger. Still her hyper little mean self ... but ya just gotta love her. She doesn't tear up 'much'! HA And she is completely potty trained (99% of the time) Double HA HA! She has this thing about going poop. She doesn't much like to go outside. She'll pee outside all day long but she'll run back inside as fast as she can and get on her paper and go #2. So weird. Also, she doesn't like to go poop if anyone is watching her. So if I happen to be in the bathroom when she needs to go, she'll stop right outside the bathroom door and go. This rarely happes so that's why I said 99% of the time. My kids told me that I've always had weird pets. :p |
Isn't that nice about your daughter. It feels so good to be appreciated. My throat is much better so i am going to work-hardest thing is to eat. I have lost almost 5 lbs.
Talked to Auntie-she is feeling better because she is taking Prilosec-her stonmache was not good all day long. PTL. She was telling me that her granson wants to have a party at the house Sunday-little does she know it's for her. I bought a gorgeous Vera Bradley-yallow and black wirh an eyeglass case and change purse. Kids chipping in with me. Bye for now-gotta drive 50 miles to work. At least they pay for the gas. Rest Tammy. |
Hey There
Mima- Sounds like you may be feeling better.. 50 miles to work. ? Hope they are paying good..
Meme- I have never had a massage! I feel like I need one.. Christie's rash is gone.. She thinks she owns the block. Barks at everything. She is house broke. We walk 4 times a day. Gives me and her about a hour total sometimes less. We are having a shower here at my house this sat. for grandsons bride to be.. I never gave a shower. Ofcouse my daughter will be here to help.I made the ring pillow. I put a lot of bead work on it.. It is beautiful even if I did make it. I have been going for a lot of test lately. I see the dr. next week.. I know he has to do something with my knee. All he wants to do is inject it. It has already been injected several times. Tammy. Disney can take the starch out of you. I have never been to Epcot. I would like to go there once.. Hello Happy Joanne |
Meme, I wouldn't expect you to say anything less about the guest speaker!! That is so cool that she talked about you and how you helped her to get started. It does sound like she is on her way to a great career, and I'm sure she'll always find time for you!!! I've wondered about Candice also. That is too funny about Ginger and her potty habits!!!
Mima, losing 5 pounds can be good but only if you are feeling well! Hope you are feeling super soon! Good thing you don't have to pay for the gas to drive 50 miles!! I do feel more rested today so far. I"m sure I can find time for a nap though!! lol Joanne, enjoy the shower! I'm sure the pillow is beautiful. I have had my knee injected twice over the past couple of years. Some days it feels pretty good, and then I'll have a day when I just want to cry because it hurts so much. Epcot is my favorite of the 4 parks at Walt Disney World. Tim and I spent most of our time there. It's fun, and it's educational. I like the World Showcase at the back of Epcot. There are shops from different countries, and there are restaurants from the various places so you can try a variety of foods. I think it would be well worth the time and money to go there sometime!! I am making spaghetti for lunch. Tim starts work at Arby's later this afternoon, so we thought we'd have our "big" meal at noon on days when he works. We are hoping that since he is home, we can get bob to eat more regularly. When it's just the 2 of us, Bob doesn't eat much even if I fix a nice meal. I think he is in a depression, but he doesn't think so. |
Joanne, hope they do something about your knee. I hate to think of having surgery, though. I've had it on both of mine and it wasn't great! Ginger just doesn't make noise at all unless she is really excited and I mean REALLY excited. Sometimes my daughter will get her started by stomping her feet and playing with her and she'll growl at her feet. She actually barked at Ross today when we got home from school. He was down in the floor teasing her with a toy. He about jumped out of his skin it was so unexpected. I'm glad she doesn't bark ... Allie, the last little poodle I had, barked at every noise she heard.
Mima, I'm glad you're feeling better. Fifty miles is a long way to drive one-way to work ... don't over-do and get sick again! When I get depressed it works just the opposite for me ... I want to eat. There have been a couple of times I was depressed that I just wanted to sleep but most of the time I eat. Don't have time to be depressed right now ... too much to do. Guess that's a good thing. |
Hello Everybody. Hope your day is going well.
Mima - glad you are feeling better. I am heading for the Dr. soon. I have a sinus infection and my throat is so sore from the nasal drip. I don't know what he can do, but I can't take any of the meds to dry it up, because of the Atrial Fibrillation. Hope you have fun at work. You must like it to drive that far! Meme - Hi. How's it going?> Good for your daughter using you as a tool of her trade. I am sure she will do well in her business. I think it would be a guelling job, but I sure am glad that there are people out there who are willing to do it. Meme, it must be 8 or 9 years since we started on here. I wonder if Candice every got moved! I wish she would find her way back here. Tammy - glad you had a good trip. I am sure you are happy to have your son back home for a few months. I hope something inspires Bob to start to eat. Getting to thin is just as bad as getting to heavy. Joanne - I wish they would do SOMETHING for your knees. I really enjoyed the Epcot Center and the Kennedy Space Center. Both are worth going to. However, that being said, they almost killed me - all that walking. It was good I could sit for a few thousand miles after that :D Not much new at this end. I am looking for a new place to live and I guess we might be forced into buying something this time round. I can't find anything I like to rent. I think we have decided to stay put here when we retire anyway. It doesn't really make much difference which way we do it! Have a good weekend. It is a long weekend here, the kick off to summer! All the campers will be out and the roads will be BUSY!! We are heading to Edmonton, as my son wants his dad to help him do some yard stuff. Catch you next week. |
About time you settled down! ;) I don't know how you can move so often. Moving kills me.
Buying groceries kills me, too. Bought way too much today. I only meant to get a few things but wound up getting a lot. I thought I was going to have the kids with me but Ross had a Dr. app. so I dropped the kids off ... their dad was waiting for them at the Dr. office. And ... I guess I was really hungry when I got to the grocery story. :p Hubby just took Ginger out to pee ... He said he didn't realize she had a rawhide bone in her mouth when she went out the door (it was long and thin) He said she was standing in the yard going pee and it looked like she had a cigar in her mouth. Funny! AND ... TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY ON THE FUNNY FARM! :hyper: |
Funny about Ginger.
I drive the 50 miles but stay at a hotel at night until it's time to go home. Then in the morning it's only a few miles. Next week is 4 days so Brad is coming on Tuesday, I really enjoyed working, They gave us 50.5 cents a mile. That's good. I bet that pillow is gorgeous. have fun at the shower-it's a lot of work but really nice. Tomorrow is Auntie's party-she will be flabbergasted. Jim left for training. It will be hard on Suzanne. But we are going to FL on the 29th. A big meal at noon is supposed to be healthier. My Swedish cousin told us that years ago. The ad is in the paper today for the apt. I pray that we are much smarter this time. We won't pay for anything. Bye for now. Mima |
Good morning. A nice lady answered our ad for the apt. She seems nice-gotta check her references. Hope the rain hods off for the party. Mima

Hey There
No rain here.. We really need it.. They got some in Tampa but missed us.. The shower was nice . The bride to be got some nice things..
The next day, sunday, we went to a family picnic.. The only thing there not fatening was the tossed salad I took. I brought what was left home. Todays lunch and a couple more.. My knees are really hurting.. I see the dr. friday..I am living on advil and darvocet. Although I just take the darvocet at night so I can sleep. If the injections don't work I will demand to see a ortho guy.. Life is no fun when you are in constant pain.. I moved into this house 48 years ago and said then I would never move again.. It would be just too hard at my age now.. HELLO TO EVERYBODY. Joanne |
Hi-ooh about your knees Joanne.
At work-in thelobby using the computer. Brad is coming out tonight. But I told him I had to watch Idol at 8. I guess we are going to rent the apt to that lady-she works in town. She will have to sign an agreement that she's the only one that can live there. She wants to plant flowers and put up a screen.house. Go girl-I can'tplant flowers anymore-but I have perennials in the front and that works-10,000 daisies. They put me in reading instead of short answer-oh well. Some big boss is coming today-She's in charge of tampa. I actually could work there but don't want to go to tampa. Bye for now-Mima where's Tammy? |
Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been posting for several days. No excuse.
Anne, have you found any place to live yet? Meme, that's funny about the "cigar" in the dog's mouth! I can picture it! Mima, I hope it works out for you with this woman in the apartment. Maybe she could come and do flowers for me!! Joanne, I hope you get some relief from the knee pain very soon! I remember you saying that you had lived in that house for a long time. Yesterday I discovered the reason for some of Bob's recent problems. When he was at the doctor in March, the doctor wrote a prescription for his meds so we could mail it in. I went ahead and did that, and Bob has been taking double the amounts of some of his meds! He has doubled on blood pressure medicine and Lasix. It is no wonder he has been out of whack! His BP yesterday was 70/40. The only reason I figured it out was he mentioned having to cut 2 different pills in half. I told him that he only had one to cut. I pulled the bottles out, and the pharmacy had given him meds with different generic names than the ones that he had before. He thought he was supposed to take all of them. I used to fill his medicine containers, and he told me he was capable. Last night I dumped all of the pills and put them back into their original bottles. I then started filling the daily medicine container. I put notes on the newer prescriptions saying not to start them until the others were finished. I made an executive decision, and I told him he isn't going to take the BP medicine till the end of the week. He never had high BP, but they wanted to keep it lower because of some of the problems that he had in September. Hopefully we'll start seeing more energy and a better appetite now!!! I am meeting with Melissa for our Emmaus share group at 3:00. Then at 7:00, I have a meeting to choose team members for the November Women's Emmaus Walk. I don't plan to come home between the two since gas is so high. I am taking my Bible (I'll have that for share group anyway) and a book. Thought I might go to the park and read and possibly take a walk while I am there. Tim is working, so I might go to Arby's and bug him for supper. Have a great day everyone!! |
Sounds like a plan. Tammy.
We are renting the apt to that lady. One of her close friends died so she probably won't be signing the agreement for a couple of days. 3 days in a row is sure enought to work. Between my back and stomache, I need to remember that. Now i have to pack again to go to FL next Thurs. That is a good thing. Watched Idol last night but kept falling asleep. Good show. Resting up-Mima |
Well, I see there was a major crash last night, and all current posts were lost. That is too bad, but we will start from here.
I am disconnecting my computer tonight and won't be back until next week. I hope you all have a good week, and I am so tired I can't remember what anybody was talking about :o We will move tomorrow, so have been busy packing. See you soon. |
