LOL Anne, I can't remember what I was talking about 5 minutes ago!! Hope your move goes (or went) well!!!!
Hello to all!! It is HOT! Our AC is now fixed. It's a good thing because I planned to go to a hotel. I was having trouble breathing, and that isn't a good thing. |
I could have sent Brad down!!!The Handyman team from church is going to fix the problem with the AC in FL-seems the board underneath is rotted and the unit is tipped the wrong way so it doesn't drain. I think our church here needs a handyman team.
Boy-moving!!!Anne, I bet your new place is beautiful. I love brand new. We will need the air today. 90's. We have had the heat on everyday. I think we have a tenant-a bachelor guy that Brad knows-just have to check that he pays his bills. My friend that had the lung cancer operation does not need chemo or radiation. Praise God. Someone seemed interested in camper-sure hope they call back. I am sure Brad will be getting calls in this heat!! I got some new exercises from PT but I hurt . Going to stick with my old ones for a while. Bye for now-Mima-hi Meme and Joanne. |
Hey There
Tammy- HOT... We were near 100 yesterday.. Just baking outside.. Niece having picnic today. I am not going.. Had a whole day of pain with my stomach and knee yesterday.. Outside of going to grocery and w/m I am staying put..I hate to see our bill for ac this month..
Mima-Sounds like it is just as hot there as here. Ofcourse the tornados are bad up close to you.. Hot and cold don't mix.We may have a storm season yet.. Happy.. moving again. Is this to be the last time? I couldn't do it.. One good way to clear out all the unwanted things ,I guess.Good luck. Hello Meme..Joanne |
There are no tornadoes near us in Massachusetts. Are there some near Ft Myers???? Hope the house doesn't get tpp bad before next Sat.
Well, the camper person didn't call yesterday. I was sure he wanted it . There are so many around for sale! It's going to be 91 here-the church people will be happy because Brad put air in and is going to put some more/ Tenant coming today. He really wants this-his sister says he doesn't always plan his money well so we are going to suggest he pays his rent weekly. My hips hurt because I have been exercising them-it's hard to balnce exercise with fibro and osteoarthritis. But my back sure is better, Hi Tammy-Meme-Anne. Mima |
Hi everyone, hope you are all staying cool.
I heard back from Candice. She is well and said to tell you all hello and she hasn't forgotten us. They haven't moved yet and are still working on their new house, said nothing had gone as she planned. She said she spent 11 days and nights cleaning up after 'messy men'. She finally got a new laptop computer but doesn't have any of her stuff loaded on it yet so she said to tell you that she'd try to get back on the message board as soon as she could. It has been hot here, also. Mid 90s. Air Cond. on our rent trailer went out on Fri. I called Jackson Heating & Cooling ... we go to church with the owners plus they are good friends and he is hubby's cousin so I was hoping they would get someone out fast. Trailers are hot anyway but when it is 95 outside they are up way over 100 inside. They sent someone within a few hours and it was the capacitator. I told him they just replaced that last year so he took the old one with him and said it should still be under warranty. I'm hoping it is and I don't have another huge bill like I did last year. I've had a very stressful week. Had kids all week plus a stressful situation is going on here. Can't really talk about it but it's wearing me down. I haven't been sleeping much. Going to go to bed and see if I can sleep. Going to be another hot week. Hope you all have a good one. Sooooo glad I'm not moving. Don't think I have the strength. |
Brad fixed 2 AC units-one at the church before the service and a customer.
The new tenant came and wants the apt-PTL. he sure is a character. Love his dog-a small lab mix. 2 appointments in Worcester-25 miles away. May try to see where the new court house is so Friday I won't be lost. I have to be there at 8. I also have to call the day before-it sure would be a blessing not to go. Jury duty. Supposed to get the new mattress today. Brad will have to ask someone to help him in the back. I am hurting and my stomache is too. I have been drinking a second cup of coffee. No more. I hope your problem gets better soon, meme, Hey Anne-time to rest-you must be hurting too. Hi Joanne and Tammy. And Candace!! Mima |
Our AC was fixed on Friday. I am sooooooooooooo glad! It has been in the 90's with high humidity. Hard to breathe. Bob is freezing with it on. He sits with jeans and a sweatshirt on, and usually has a blanket over him. He is still using the electric blanket at night. That's one thing we will discuss with the liver specialist on the 20th. Tim and I have talked, and we think the disease is progressing. Just little signs that we are seeing. Blood work this week. I wanted Bob to change his appointment to sooner, but he doesn't see the need.
Tim's girlfriend lives on the other side of Indiana. She was supposed to come over tonight, but she wouldn't get here till about 10:00 since she had to work. Tim was supposed to work till 8. She called a little after 4, and she said she was already on her way. She took off work at 3. She was going to surprise Tim! She would be here about 6:40. That would give her time to take a shower, etc. before Tim got home. Guess who pulled in at 6:30??? Tim got off work at 6:00! I texted Lauren real quick to let her know that he was already here. I was trying to get him to go to the grocery for me, but I guess I'm not very convincing. lol I did convince him to come into the back room and check the weather for Lauren's drive. That's where he was when she got here. I went to the front door and quietly let her in. What a hoot!!!!!! I'm so proud of myself for keeping it a surprise!!! Mima, praise the Lord about your friend not needing chemo or radiation! Hope your new tenant works out better than the last one!!! Joanne, I'm glad you are staying in. It is just too hot to be out. I am also afraid of the bill for the AC. Meme, glad that you heard from Candice. Was the AC under warranty? Hope so. I pray that things become less stressful for you. |
Brad got 3 calls yesterday and he had planned to do something else. But he will stick around today-last day of heat wave.
Is Bob anemic??? Or have low thyroid?? 2 good questions for doc. That is so hard on you both. Really funny about Tim. Hope none odf those storms come near you. We got our pillow top mattress and it seems so hard-of course compared to the water bed it would. I hope it;s good for me. I helped a little so I hurt today, PT at 8:30/ Skin doc sprayed my wart. OUCH! But it's going away. Then I went to gyno. He asked me if I wanted to go off Prempro, Did that and it was horrible. But I may try to cut down. Can't take the other stuff because it's soy-based and I am allergic to soy. Today i will try to find some money in Brad's books that he didn't charge for. If I don't -than it's going to a good place-the retreat place. Tonight we are going to a discussion about reverse mortgages. We won't do it yet-just want to know about it and the fees associated with it. Bye for now-Mima-Stay cool!! |
Don't fall off your chairs gals;) It's me..Candice...I only have internet connections at the new house and am down for the night busy with picking out stuff, will get no sleep and go with son in the morning to do more and then back home untill I have to come down again. Most of my packing at the old house is done:encore: Never buy a home without looking at it several times and never at night!!!!! We loved the location and at the time it was the only home available and now there are tons of them:dizzy: Too many things to fix on top of the move is very stressful but I am doing ok, mentally and physically.......:yay:
Could lose about 10 pounds:) Meme, thanks for updating the gals for me, so you have a non-barking dog that smokes cigars while peeing:D We have a non-smoking barker:D Tammy, that mess up with the meds could have really done some damage, good you caught it....men they are really babies in an adult body! Joanne..hope your knees improve without surgery. Mima...what kind of job has you away from Brad? I missed that part:?: Happy....moving again, you need to come help me! How many grandkids ya got now? Better go, not used tot his new computer yet and it has taken me a long time to post:o I will be back but not on a regular basis yet, just wanted to touch base now that I have a computer that will load the site. |
Wow-so good to here from you, Candace. Did your son become a doctor yet??? Inquiring minds want to know.
Woke up early with a pain in my ear-from the bad air and eating wheat!! Bad Mima. we went to a seminar on reverse mortgages and they had th most delectable sandwiches. Crime does not pay-achy-achy. My allergies cause pseudo arthritis-my aunt gets pseudo gout, We are a strange bunch. I correct the MA teacher test-love that job because of my friends. been doing it for 9 and a half years. Only problem is the food-I have to bring my own. Wow-Brad got some good jobs from the heat wave. Of course he put 90 worth of gas in the truck, You don't get relief from that til you file taxes next year. But sometimes he charges them extra for gas if he can't recoup it in another way, I salt the money away for our spending money in FL. Not there yet. Glad it will be cooler today, Be good=Sure glad I am not moving. Couldn't if i wanted to. Bye Mima |
Hey There
Candice- Wow ! so nice to hear from you again..I also have a barker.. She doesn't want anyone or thing to move on her block..You must have got a good deal with the interest rates what they are now on homes..We bought our house about 48 years ago at 41/2 percent.. for 13,000. It is worth a lot more now..Keep in touch
Mima- Still hot here. Would you believe it is raining all around Tarpon Springs ,none here.I don't like the idea of reverse morgages.. They wanted to do that at the bank when we went in to renue(sp) a cd.. Only it was with the money of the cd.. Then they told us that at the end if we died that they would give only a certain amount to kids.. They kept the rest.. I laughted them out of the bank. No deal..We took our money and went home...What a scam!! Meme- Hope your stress level has come down... Mine seems to stay on track .. I always have something to get me going.. Christie is getting better ,but, she still wants to rule the house. I read where pugs are like that..We still have to crate her when we go off or to bed.. She gets bored easy.. Tammy- Hope the report on your hubby is good.. Being realistic may be more the answer..Men do not do well when they are sick.. Mine is a big baby at times. It seems that the least little thing ,he thinks I have resolve..He will just sit back in a rocker and sleep it away..Do nothing for himself unless I nag him to death.. Hello Happy- Hope you are settled by now.. Moving is not a cup of tea.. Joanne |
So far my hubby hasn't been sick too much ... knock on wood. I don't know if I could stand him if he got really sick. He got a touch of arthritis (so said the Dr.) in his elbow back a couple of years ago and nearly drove me nuts with it. He said he didn't know how I stood it in my whole body. He was up walking the floor at night with it in just one joint ... bless his heart! ;) It finally got better. I don't think it was arthritis, I think he had tennis elbow ... but then what do I know? :p But he does have a pretty level head on his shoulders about other stuff. He doesn't just sit back and wait for me to resolve things. On the other hand, he's not one to rush into decisions or fly off the handle, either. I guess, with our temperments, we about break even and keep each other on track. Even if he does drive me crazy sometimes! :p
As for the dog ... that's another matter altogether. She is really ... different. And that's putting it mildly. :D I've been sitting out on my deck a lot lately and now she thinks she has to be in a chair beside me when we're outside. She won't lay on the deck like a 'normal' dog. And at night, while we're watching TV or reading, if she needs to go out she'll jump in our laps and smack us in the face with her paw. I'd much rather she jump on the door or something. She is rotton. Mima ... that's why I'm afraid to change from a water bed to a regular mattress. Let me know how you like yours. I thought about getting a select comfort but I love my water bed and I don't know if I'd like to change. It's good to have 'sock' money, huh? Candice, I'll be so glad when you get this move behind you. You'll be so tired you won't be able to do anything for months. As I said, I wish we could just sit down and 'talk'!!! Wouldn't that be great? Maybe someday. Tammy, so you're cool again. I'd hate to think about our air going out now as hot as it is. I hope Bob is feeling better by now. I bet Tim was surprised the other night. Well, I have to go see if I can get a couple of hours of work done. I've had Ross and Jenna since 8:30 and I didn't get anything done today. Sad. I used to be able to do whatever I wanted when my kids were home but now ... guess I'm just getting too old to have kids! |
Mima, I'll mention anemia and low thyroid to the doctor next week. What did you learn about reverse mortgages? I've heard of them, but I don't know anything about them.
Hey Candice!! Glad to hear you are doing ok!!! Stress from moving can do a number on a person. Joanne, why does it always rain around Tarpon Springs???? You need rain too! Meme, lol to hubby driving you crazy at times. I can relate! I also had to laugh about the dog. Whenever I was on the porch, Kramer would be right beside me on the glider. Bob's feet, ankles, and legs are swollen pretty bad. I told him he should go to the family doctor, and maybe he could give him some advice. I figure he would up his diuretic meds. They had reduced those a few months ago. Bob doesn't want to go there. Frustration here!!!! |
Hey There
Tammy in my years of nursing I took care of patients with the same illness as your Bob. Water retension was one of the main symptoms. Bob should see his dr. about this. Yes we need the rain very bad.. The hubby keeps thinking it is going to rain and the grass is drying up.I keep telling him to put on the water.. We have a well..
Meme- Christie wants to sit in my chair with me too. We bought her a nice pillow at sams. All she wants to do with it is chew it up..And she doesn't lay on it while she chews it. We put it away. Maybe when she reachs 2 things will change. At least that is what I have been told. When she wants to go outside she stands and stares at me.No getting around it she knows what she wants.. Hello everybody...Joanne |
As far as the mattress goes-I am not sure. It's a Simmons pillow top but it is too hard. The one in the store was much softer . Brad loves it so I am thinking of something to put under it on my side of the bed. Foam??? I will ask my massage lady.
I feel for you Tammy about Bob going to the doc. When is his other appt. As far as the reverse mortgage, if you want to stay in your house and can't make ends meet-it can help. There is money up front and then interest but it comes off your equity in the house, Then when you are gome from your house they take the money back and you or your heirs get the rest. I have no idea what they were talking about using your cd money. It's a way of getting money that you need-you have to get rid of the idea that you will leave it all to your kids. There was a 93 year old lady at our church in Fl whe was desperate for money and just wanted to leave it to her well-off niece. Very sad. When we inherited 28,000 from Brad's mom-we spent it very soon-we didn't waste it but..............But we don't need to do that yet. It';s just that Brad will lose my pension if I go first and he MAY need the money. Had fun shopping yesterday at the Salvation Army where things were half price and another low price store. I needed shorts etc. Sure hope I don't have to go to jury duty-it's so far-have to call at 3. Mima |
Hey There
Mima- We suffered with a expensive mattress for years, dumb. Our daughter bought us a memory foam topper 4 in. They come in 2 in,4in,6in. It was the best thing she has ever give us..No more pain all night.. It is the hubby who thinks everything should be left to kids. He used to think everything should be left to son.. I changed that thinking..He is GREEK . They believe that way..Old world. Our kids have much more than we will ever have or have had.
Hello everybody..Got lots to do.. W/m Gro, and Tops tonight.. Joanne |
Hi everybody. I have finally made it back. Got connected yesterday afternoon and then the cable went down in this area. Go figure.
Mima - good that you found somebody to rent the apartment. That is good, now let's hope he pays. Hope you feel better today. I do hope you can get out of that Jury Duty. Here, they don't like to let you go. Get a memory foam mattress. I got mine at Costco and it is 2.5 inches thick. I love it. No sweating either. We had a Sealy mattress extra firm. Used to wake up so darn sore, we finally got us a Simmons BeautyRest and it is great. Tammy - I hope Bob isn't getting worse. That isn't something to look forward to. A friend of ours has Cirrosis of the Liver and he is very thing. This fellow worked with my hubby for several years. He had quit drinking 14 years prior, but it caught up to him in the end. Good surprise for Tim. Joanne - I would absolutely LOVE to send you some rain. Feels like it has been raining for a month. No more drought! Everything is lush and green. Meme - I hope you are able to rest some. Looking after kids keeps one busy. I hope they fix the air and that it is under warrenty. Candice - so nice to see you here. That was a great surprise. I hope you are feeling good and able to do the move slowly. It really does help. We moved in on the past weekend and things are pretty much in place. Just had to go back and clean up the other suite. That was a lot of work, and I am still NOT done. We will go tonight and get it finished. Another hours work. It is looking good. It really wasn't very hard to clean, but you do have to clean EVERYTHING. The carpets will get cleaned sometime next week. We aren't allowed to do them outselves, as they need to be disinfected, so they tell us. The new place is really nice. I love it. The building has 63 suites, but there are only 7 that are occupied. They are trying to pave the parking lot out front, but it keeps on raining. Slowly, things will come together - I hope. It is a bit messy outside here to say the least. At least I have AIR, but we haven't had to even think about using it. This is enough for today. Every muscle in my body hurts and I need to go let them relax. Catch you all tomorrow. |
I can imagine you are sore, Anne. Your new place sounds so nice. You will love the air even if you don't use it all the time. It takes the humidity out. Ours is getting fixed in FL tomorrow by the people from church. The guy called Brad last night for some advice on someone's AC.
I didn't have to go to jury duty-Now I am done because I am turning 70. I am going to call Auntie and see if she wants to go out to eat. She still has no energy, I do not like the insurance she has. They have a reputation from some people but others love it. Now I have to get used to the medicare system beginning July 1. We also have Medex as our secondary insurance. It would be nice if they would send us a brochure!! I have such a pain in my shouder, I have a bag of frozen peas on it right now. It molds to my shoulder. I don't know how Father's Day is going to turn out for Brad-I asked Angela and Brett to come for a cookout but she informed me that they had other arrangements. And Bobby's girlfriend has a father And Suzanne is busy running to CT to see her hubby. I prayed about it. Angela sure rubs me the wrong way -I have to pray about her. She rules the roost so Brett goes along with her. I actually do the same thing-Brad goes along with me but I do try to keep all parties in mind most of the time. A long time ago ALL the families got together but that is unusual. We sort of did that on Mother's Day with Bobby and Pam because she thinks like that. She definitely will be a good dil. Called Stanley steamer to clean the rugs next week-they are good, Bye for now Mima Sure hope the situation improves with Bob, Tammy! |
Bob went for bloodwork on Thursday. We got the results yesterday. The liver enzymes are even more elevated than they were. We go to the liver specialist on Friday. I am trying to stay positive, but it is difficult after seeing the test results. I have no idea what I should expect as it gets worse.
Joanne, Kramer used to stand and stare at me when he wanted to go out too! Wish we could send you some of the rain we've had. There is water standing in all of the fields around. I've thought about one of those memory foam toppers. How does that work with the fitted sheet? Mima, thanks for the info on the reverse mortgage. Congrats on no jury duty!! Anne, glad the move is behind you now! Enjoy the new place!! Tim has to work 11-7 tomorrow, so we don't have anything big planned for Father's Day. I do have a roast for the crock pot, just hope Bob feels like eating it. He isn't eating much at all. Our 27th anniversary is Thursday. |
Just a quick hello, need to find the last thread and read it too.
You all need stay well....you sound like a bunch of "old"ladies! LOL:) AT the house too work and no sleep, will go home when daylight comes to sleeeeeeeep! Need to get up and stretch now before my butt goes to sleep! My weight is right where it was when I posted the very last time a year or two ago, I guess I only have 5 to lose according to my tracker.................;) |
Well, Candace-some of us are old ladies!!!But with age comes wisdom-however no one will listen to us!!!! Ha!!
I sure hope Brett contacts his father today, Oh, Tammy, I pray there is some hope. No wonder he doesn't feel well. Remember God is bigger than the problem, We have new cell phones and hope that they get better reception in the house. Someone is coming at 1 to see the camper-many people come to see it but no one buys it!!!! Maybe something is turning around-Bob's gf sold 3 houses on Friday, The head of the handyman team went to our house yesterday and fixed our problem and made sure it was draing before he left.He told us we had a hole in the floor in front of the AC unit so I guess we will put in the flooring sooner than later. I think it would be a nice thing if we had a handyman team at our church. They are looking for new ministries, When are you moving in Candace. I have such a flareup of fibro. My right shoulder needs a shot. Even my back is not good. Tammy, the newer sheets fit over the bigger height of the mattress. I think I am going to put something under my side of the bed, I sure hope the new mattress is not the cause of my problem-I think it's helping Brad get the new mattress into the bedroom that did it. Enough whining.Have a nice day, Mima |
Just about to head home and thought I would check in again....
Mima...I found the thread with the wedding pic..beautiful bride and she looks so happy:) I hope it just rains and does not storm or I will not get my beauty rest or as DH calls it crabby rest!:D We have a firm sealy with a deep pillow top, 5 years now and it is great but we flip every 3 months..pain! I bought a 2" thick memory foam for a twin bed here and love it..just sits on top and pull a sheet over it. Joanne..Christy sounds delightful;) Our pup is spoiled rotten too.:p Happy ALREADY MOVED, you are a master at it!:carrot: Tammy..hope Bob gets better.... Meme..hope you are sleeping in...maybe we can chat on W Messanger sometime???? begginning to hurt like and "old" lady so better head home for rest....Nighty Nighty! |
Hey There
Tammy-- You buy deep pockets fitted sheets..
As to Bob. It is good to be positive ,but, be realistic as much as you can. If his condition worsens maybe finding a support group would help you..As I told you I worked with families with the same or same as concerns as you have.. If ever you feel the need to reach out I am as close as email or phone.. Candice ..you are right .Christie is spoiled.. I say a couple trying to decide on a food dish for their dog in w/m. I told the guy ,my dog eats well of of a plate. He grumped at me'that's because you spoil it'.No, that's because that is what she wants to eat out of.. Mima- We get a book from Medicare every year.. I bet they will send you one or maybe you can pick one up at the medicare office..You can go on line and put in Memory foam mattress and it will go right to a site that you can get them.. They are cheaper than you find in the stores and better.. We love ours.. Happy -we would love to have some of your rain.. It is very dry here.. A lot of my flowers and bushes did not bloom this year because of the drought..Not one bloom on the flowering trees.. Meme- Hope you have recouped by now..My arthritis is kicked in big time.. The more pain med I take the worse my stomach hurts.. It is a no win situation. Joanne |
Good morning-we had a nice Father;s Day-went out to eat with Aunt Bev who is recently widowed-she has been coming to church-that was fun-turns out we both go to the same massage person. She is 80.
Brett never called his father-don't know what's going on with them. Like I said, he goes along with Angela. I feel like yelling at them, getting back, etc. But then I am a Christian and I can't do that. !!!!!!!!!!! But Suzanne called Brad and wished him a nice Father's Day. He was going to tease her back but I told him to say thank you-and then they were having a nice conversation. We got new cell phones and they get great reception-thanks to Angela's father who told us what kind to get. My back is much better. I guess I won't have to get a shot. I def should swim 2x a week. They have a jacuzzi. Catch up day-I like Mondays to get stuff done I ignored all weekend. Hope you are settled Anne-send us pics-and you too candace. Pretty soon we will have a dog downstairs-hope he's not a barker. Mima Hi meme and Tammy-I agree with Joanne about a support group. |
We were talking again today about a new mattress. The one we have is over 10 years old. The one on Tim's bed is probably 25 years old. I think it needs a new one also. I tried a posture-pedic mattress at a store the other day. I asked the salesman if I could just take a nap. He told me that was fine, and he would wake me at 5:00 when they close.
Today Bob has taken a couple of walks, and he has eaten better. He is still very fatigued though. A support group sounds like a good idea. I don't even know where to begin to find one. I guess when we go to the doctor on Friday, maybe they could give me suggestions. I honestly don't know what to expect as the disease worsens. He said last night that he was going outside to look at the moon because he won't have many more to look at. It was like someone punched me in the stomach. Mima, what kind of cell phones did you get? The one I have is in the Verizon network, and it is a Samsung brand. Glad the handyman could fix the problem. Joanne, I know what you mean about the meds causing other problems than what you are taking them for. A vicious circle! Candice, I hope you got your beauty rest!!! Tim left after work today to go visit his gf. He called a few minutes ago to say he was there (3 hr. drive). He'll be home sometime on Wednesday before he goes to work at 5. |
Hi-as far as support groups go, I went to Al-anon for many years. It's great for those affected by someone's drinking. And then I went to Adult children of alcoholics because I grew up affected by drinking etc. That's where my healing began. But I am sure there are groups for someone in your situation Tammy. That is so sad. I think the doctor visit Friday will be helpful-I am sure your friends are a good support. I guess we are your friends too.
I was so upset yesterday about the Brett and Angela situation and today I figured out that I feel like a victim and that's not a good place for me. So I need to take charge and step back. And establish boundaries. Hey-I learned that in ACOA and also Codependents anonymous. I am so glad tp have a friend that's also been through all that. We went to the new Superwalmart-they didn't have their own brands in hardly anything. We love the one in FL> So then we stopped at our grocery store and now I have to go to the other walmart to get things I forgot. They have their own brand. All that to find good prices but we will stick with our old store til we get to FL. Lousy weather all week. Suzanne wants us to meet up with them next week to have dinner before JIm goes away but the place is near Jim's parents and 3 and a half hours drive for us (in all)after Brad works all day. I want to go but they are not taking us into consideration. Half way would be nice!! PT at 9. Getting ready for the rug cleaning. Mima |
ps-the phone is an LG and our 2 year contract was up so we got them for 29.99 each after a $50 rebate each. They take pics and have a voice activation feature like I can say Call Brad and it will. But first you have to use the menu. Mima
|
Tammy, I must have missed something...what kind of iullness does Bob have? Did you really take a nap in the store????? They say you should lay for at least 30 min.
Joanne, our poor dog eats off of anything! But now he begs for food when we eat, since we started giving him apple bites and carrots when we are eating them..big mistake! Mima, we have a big jet tub in the master at the new house, I do not like it..can't hardley get in and out and its not comfortable sitting in it. Too much work to clean it up too but DH thinks he is gonna use it every night. I prefer a shower.....just quick and clean. Well we did windows today and I am hurting and bushed...we have the Anderson double hung pullout kind but they are pain in the butt to work..I can't do it alone, which is what I thought I could do. There is new construcion near by so lost of dirt flying around. Need to get some rest so my son and I can run around to stores again, got a headache due to muscloe in shoulders from doing windows!!!!!! |
We have a jacuzzi but it was hard to get in and out of so now we have a separate shower, Still haven't cleaned the tub. Have the stuff.
Rug cleaning people coming between 8 and 12. Bought a memory foam piece to put under my side of the bed . Now I am all set. Bye for now. Mima-send pics of your new house sometime, Candace. |
Candice, Bob has cirrhosis of the liver. He had inherited a liver problem from his dad, and we didn't know that until a little over a year ago. Alcohol of course makes the problems worse. He was always a drinker (beer), and he was advised to stop drinking completely but he didn't. He almost died in September. He has not had any alcohol since Sept. 2. He has even given up Pepsi because it bothers him now.
Bob said earlier that he is looking forward to the doctor visit today just so we can get some of our questions answered. Usually he dreads going. As for the nap in the store, I really didn't do it. BUT it was sooooo tempting! I think we are going to go somewhere when Bob feels ok to check out those sleep number beds. Since he and I can't agree completely on a mattress, that might be our only option. His niece and her husband have one. Hope your shoulders are feeling better!! We have construction going on near us also. They broke ground last week for the new school close to us, and since then there has been a constant stream of traffic. We live on a cul-de-sac, so it doesn't go right in front of the house, but we are close enough. They have also been repaving the highway that we turn from. It has been interesting. Bob's son works for the road crew, so we have gotten to see him quite a bit lately. Mima, are you going to be able to meet up with Suzanne and Jim next week? It's too bad they couldn't find a more central location for you to meet. Hello to everyone else!! I'll try to get back on after the doctor's appointment. Maybe it will be more positive than I am thinking. |
Hey There
Hello Everybody.
Tammy- I bought a sealy posterpedic. That is the mattress that kept us in pain for so long. The hubby would not and still won't get rid of it because of the cost. My daughter bought a sleep number bed.. Now we both have a memory foam topper. I have a 4 in. she gave us and she has a 6 in. Go figure..My bother and his wife have a memory foam bed.. When this one wears out or I am alone someday I will have no other.. I sure hope the results on Bob were good..Let us know. Mima- I wish I had a hot tub.. I have got in my son's a couple times. I didn't want to get out.My rug needs cleaned. I do it once a year. Then spot clean ..Got to do that before my brother comes next week. Candice- My hubby spoiled our dog giving her from his plate.. I am constantly yelling at him. Pugs get fat really fast. Also her stomach cannot stand somethings. I am going to make him clean up the next time she vomits..She got a real upset a couple weeks ago and I was cleaning pooh and vomit.. I was really mad at him.She is really good about going outside to do her business. I walk her 4 times a day for just that and exercise for both of us.. Hello Meme and Happy.. Joanne |
Just got home from the doctor. He is upping some of the meds to help with the swelling. He is concerned about the increase in the numbers, but didn't seem terribly concerned. He prescribed another med to help with the confusion that we are seeing. He also talked to us about some of the concerns that we have being caused by the liver disease. (fatigue, nause, lack of appetite) He did mention transplant, but he said we are not to that stage yet. Bob goes for an ultrasound of the gall bladder and liver next week. He will also have more bloodwork done before he goes back to Dr. W the end of July. His weight was 184, and his BP was 107/64.
That's all for now. |
Well, good morning. Rugs came out great. I have been thinking about you going to the doc's-I sure hope Bob gets some strength back.
We had a great Bible study last night and everyone helped with the food. I am having it here next week and I only will make rolls-just trust that everything else will show up. We are going to a wedding today-it's an hour and a half away-another evening one. Auntie and I agreed we don't like evening weddings but that's all we are going to lately. I told Suzanne that was too far-especially during the week. We want them to meet us another night half way-45 minutes for each of us. But Jim only has a few days home so that might not happen. We do want to see him. My stomache is not good. We will have a dog here soon. She is 8-hope she is not a barker-tenant wants to put in a doggie door for when he is at work-in the garage, Bye for now Mima |
Good morning.
Mima - you are brave, letting a renter bring in a dog. Unless he is kept extememly clean, it might end up smelling. Not all dog owners take care of the necessary things - like CLEANING up. They do, however, lover their dogs. Hope you feel better soon. Nice to get the rugs cleaned. I had Hans clean the ones in the new place before we moved in. What a difference. No FUZZ and carpet dust, that normally comes off the new ones. My allergies don't like that, much! Tammy - I sure hope Bob will be ok. I know this can't be a happy time for you. Hope you find a good bed. It is so darn important to be able to be comfortable. Joanne - hope you got or will get your rugs cleaned. I can't stand getting them done professionally, as I can't breath right from the stuff they clean them with. I clean them myself (well actually, I DON'T, but hubby does:D) and they come out beautifully. Meme - how are you doing? Candace - nice to see you popping in from time to time. When the heck are you moving? Is your other place sold? Just don't overdo it. I am all moved in and settled, and have been working this week. I am kind of tired. It is good for the mind to work, but very hard on the body. My choice and the mind wins:carrot: Hope you all have a good day. |
Good morning. Stanley Steamer uses steam to clean. I was ok after.
Wow-what a wedding. We started eating at 7 and didn't finish til 10:40. Starting with hor's douevres being passed to a sundae. I am glad not to pay for that wedding. The young man that got married was adopted by my cousin when he was a baby-my aunt was actually taking care of him-she took care of foster children all her life-he actually looks like his father and what a nice young man!! 2 late nights in a row!!! One more wedding in Sept-that groom said they were getting married on the beach!!! And her aunt was providing a $4500 cake. Brad thinks all of this is ridiculous-he thinks you should have a reception in the church hall put on by the ladies of the church. That's the way he was brought up.The only one that did that was a Pastor's daughter. I think we are skipping Sunday school. But not church. And there is a talent show tonight. Bye for now-Mima |
We planned to go this weekend to look at sleep number beds, but the new med that Bob is taking has kept him pretty close to the bathroom! Sure is going to have trouble going for the ultrasound this week and the wedding this weekend if he can't get away from the bathroom!! I guess I thought the posturepedic was a memory foam? I am so confused by all of the websites I've been to about mattresses.
My niece's wedding is an afternoon wedding. The reception will be afterwards. We are staying overnight so we don't have the drive home. We'll go down on Friday afternoon and go to the rehearsal dinner that night at the hotel where we are staying. Anne, glad to hear you are settled! It's a good feeling even though you have some pain, right? Mima, $4500 for a cake! That is unreal!!!!! We have the wedding this weekend, 2 in July, and another one in October. |
Hey There
Hello Everybody
Tammy- Sounds like Bob was retaining fluid..Enjoy the weddings.. My G/son is getting married on the 28th.. We will go up on Friday.. Everything I have heard says this will be big. Mima- What is the icing made of GOLD.. I have never heard of a cake that expensive.Ofcourse I guess they are these days. I was told that when the G/son and his girl picked out theirs they had a cake tasteing..We had to laught.. We bought our kids cakes at Publix..A little over 100 dollars. Happy -The rug won't get cleaned until I do it.. I will vacumn good and spot clean tomorrow.. My brother comes Tuesday.. He will just have to close his eyes.. Hello Meme, Candice..Joanne |
I will let you know what the cake looked like-that wedding is Sept. 14.
What a morning in church-Pastor told us about his deteriorating eyes-from diabetes-it's affecting his readimg and recognition of faces from a distance. He's only 61. Then the group of deacons got up and prayed over him. It was awesome. And then last night=the Summer talent show that started off with the music director singing an aria with her brown lab joining her. It was too funny. Then many others displayed their talents-then ice cream and strawberries-i had icecream. Brad and I had a 3 hour nap also. Never sleep that long/ I sure hope Bob adjusts to the med. Hate that side effect. I have 2 weeks of Sunday school lessons -I am a substitute. I really like doing that. Plus we are having bible study here but I only have to do drinks and rolls-everyone else is bringing something. Strong storms today. We are so fortunate not to have floods etc. Can we see a pic of the pillow . Joanne/-I am sure it's gorgeous. I only needed my rugs cleaned because of all the construction last year. And the year before. here's a hint-NEVER put carpeting on stairway to get in your house-(I mean inside a hallway.) Mima |
Hey There
Mima- I already gave the pillow to the bride.. If they take a picture of it I will try to get Eleni to put it on the site.. I have no way to do that..I was beautiful,if I say so myself..My daughter said 'why didn't you make mine like that.' Well I only made the wedding gown and every other gown in the wedding including the grooms mothers and mine..They put me in the hospital in traction the day after the wedding.. My back went out big time.I told everyone not to tell my daughter, but, she called home and found out..What a memory!
Hello everybody.. Real busy day.. Back later. Joanne |
Oh my goodness!!! About your back. Those daughter's weddings will do it to you. That pillow will be a keepsake!!
It's not raining right now but it may be later. 2 PT sessions to go. I have to be good and do my exercises 2x a day. One of them makes my ribs hurt-that old injury from moving in 2000. It never went away. Finally got my stimulus check-it's going right in our savings-took a lot out of that for the wedding. The groom is home until Sat. Suzanne says she's not going to think about it til Friday-just enjoy him being home. Getting ready to have bible study here Friday night. Where is the wedding? I sure hope Tammy gets to go to hers. Mima |
