Default Anyone else taking *prescribed* Dexedrine?

Is anyone else on this drug? It's normally prescribed for ADHD and narcolepsy.

I'm taking it to manage persistent fatigue that my doctor and I can't explain. I am not taking it every day, but take 10mg about 4-5 days a week.

It's amazing what it's doing for my fatigue, but I'm curious about some of the side effects. It is *killing* my appetite, which I am surprisingly NOT happy about - I know I'm not eating enough GOOD food (veggies, etc) because I am not hungry enough and don't like forcing myself to eat when not hungry. I am more fidget-y, too. My skin has dried out a lot, as well, which I don't understand!

Anyone else taking this drug? What is your experience with it? I would only like to hear from people who are taking (or have taken) this drug under the care of a health care practitioner, please!!

Hi! I've been on Dexedrine for a couple of years now, prescribed by my doctor for the supposed treatment of my Dysautonomia (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). I am currently trying to get off of it though, because it has never done much of anything positive for me. Large doses DO kill the appetite, and when I take it I am extremely on edge and irritable. I find myself moody, flushed, and just generally uncomfortable. It's supposed to raise your blood pressure.
I didn't realize that dry skin is a side effect, and I am so glad that you mentioned it! My skin is very, very dry.
If you're not happy with being on it after trying it for a few weeks, I'm sure there is a better choice out there for you.

Does that mean you don't want any comments at all unless the poster is currently taking the drug? I have much to share about it, but am not taking it at this time.

SoulBliss, I'm happy to hear from people who've been on it in the past... my concern is that I don't want to hear from people who were taking it without medical supervision. I know it's a highly abused drug, and I don't want to hear about or condone mis-use of it, y'know?
