Angry Fibromyalgia #48

Hello to everyone.

Firstly, the weather here has been fantastic for this time of the year!!! We hardly had any snow this winter, which is very, very bad for the farming community. If we end up like last year, without spring rain, a drought is immenent. It is cloudy today and snow or moisture is trying to move through the area. Tomorrow it will be really warm. Of course, the problem with all this, is that is melts during the day and freezes at night, so in the morning the roads are a disaster.

Meme - you just keep going and going and going. Here is a site for a Chiropractic Specialist in your type of problem. I spoke to My Upper Cervical Chiropractor about this, but he said this type of chiro is really wonderful and does an amazing job for rotar cuff problems, tennis elbow, carpel tunnel etc. I don't know if you are interested. I had never heard of this before, but there are a few of them here in Alberta as well. He told me, that this type of chiro wouldn't do any good for my problem (lower back).

Here is the website http://www.chiropractic-sports.com/reference/ART.htm

I guess when I am in pain, I figure there has to be an answer, so I keep on looking, and I am so glad that I found the Upper Cervical Chiro, as he had gotten me to such a good point in my life; Right now, we are back to square one, but I hope to get back to where I was in the next few months. I may have to go find one of these ART chiros myself - for my elbow. I just know that it is going to become a problem for me.

Mima - you are also busy, but you are having fun. Good for you. I am glad you are enjoying your grand daughter as well. They are so very special. Had mine here this weekend. She is such a delightful little girl. I thouroughly enjoy her.

Candice and Joanne - between the two of you, you can build Candice a new waistband! That is the thing with getting older. I used to have a mobile clothing store for seniors and travel around Alberta to Seniors Lodges, Nursing homes etc. Even the smallest little ladies, could not fit into their proper size, because the waist was too large. They tended to goup a size rather than go for the alteration. The other problem they had, was the under arm jiggle Just another sign, I am afraid.

Ally - Hi. Sorry you are having so many troubles here the past while. Get that ex well, and then get him out of your hair. I know that isn't easy, because of the boys. I know you will go on from here.

My elbow has been more sore than it was. I guess because the swelling is going out of most of the arm. It looks like I have two joints on my elbow right now, but hopefully that swelling will go down before long. It sure hurts when you forget and put it on the counter or the table. You know that bad habit we all have, resting the head on the hand thing.

My lower back and hip has also been giving me grief. I had to find a masseuse on Friday afternoon - my shoulders and neck were just screaming at me. It felt so good to get some of those knots out of there. It really hurt, but worth the pain. She also worked on my hip (actually the muscles - the glutes and another one - they were really, really touchy, let me tell you)

Now tomorrow, I will go to ww and see what kind of damage I have done there. I hope I lost. I have tried to be good.

I have the most delicious recipe to share with you as well. It is a dessert. My daughter made it and brought it with her this past weekend. It is 3 points for a big slice and mmmmmm.

Well, enough for this time. Candice will accuse me of writing a book and Meme, won't have time to read it.

Default Hello

Hey Candice-I made chicken marinated in salad dressing-olive oil with balsamic vinegar and bread crumbs on top-it is always moist. We went to see an Elvis impersonator last night-what fun but smoky!!!Very nice plus someone else that did Tom Jones, Neil Diamond and BARBARA STREISAND!!! Tonight we are going to meet some friends and eat at their country club!!Ladeda!!And tomorrow night another country club for a Red Sox fundraiser. It's nice to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. I like my life just as it is. !!!Happy-hope you are better soon, and Meme,Candice too . When I go back I have to go to the orthopedic dr. and see what's going on. Really nice here. Mima

Default Hey There

Happy- All the women in my family have been given the under arm jiggle We hate it. But outside of surgery we are stuck with it.We also have had hardly any winter and too little rain. As a matter a fact we have had too little rain for the past few years.
Candice- If your jeans has a waist band you simple get a seam ripper and take it off.. Grograin ribbon is a ribbed (sorta) ribbon. Go to your fabric department in wal-mart and ask for it. You won't need but about a yard. Without seeing your jeans, I can only guess at what you need to do.If the jeans are a heavy fabric you may need to just put on a new waistband. How did you get a 14 waist and a 10 bottom? I am a 12 waist and 14 bottom and would love to get it smaller. I walk over 3 miles almost every day and still have a big butt.!!!
Hello Mima, Ally. Meme..You all have a good day...Joanne

only got a second before dinner. Any of you ever heard of Blue Stuff? It is made of Emu oil and aloe etc. A friend bought it (very expensive) and gave me the little sample packet. I used it two nights ago on my hips. Could not sleep. In 15 minutes the pain was gone. Look it up on the internet Bluestuff.com.

Well, I am happy. Went to ww today and was down 2.4 pounds. Not much, but certainly better than a gain! I find the painkillers bloat me, and I have to eat to counter the stomach pain. So for two weeks I was WAY over my points, but once I could get back to cooking my way, I was back on track. Thank goodness.

Ally, haven't heard of that stuff, but will take a look. Always open to new stuff.

Candice, I will post that recipe tomorrow for you. I have to go for a massage and to the chiro tomorrow, so have kind of a full day there. Hopefully, I can get back to aqua areobics next week, but my tailbone, hip and legs hurt. Today everything hurts, as a damp kind of weather system is moving through the area. I just hope that this accident didn't make the FM worse in the long term.

Everything went well-they really like d Brad-who doesn't!!!!We wanted to visit some of his friends in Bradenton but they want us to come when we have plans to go with my son to a Red Sox fundraiser. Such a dilemma!!!A few more days til Brad goes back-I want to be back too so we can get stuff done. ONE DAY AT A TIME. He is teaching me to play pool and I stink. But it's fun. I really need a massage-when he's gone I will fix my body-nails, back, weight!!!!Haha!!!we know how long it takes to get fixed. Happy, I was in a car accident and my neck hurt for 2 years til I had acupuncture. My chiro does that,Try it!!Notice I haven't ben mentionaing any weight losses but I bought some petite small pants and they fit. This is an active lifestyle here. Bye for now. Mima

What makes some people eat under stress while others can't eat??? And why did I have to be one of the ones that have to eat???

My little 5 year old grandson is now hearing voices!!! They have had him to 2 Drs. and have an app. to see another one in Nashville at Vanderbilt. I am soooo worried about him. He is just the sweetest child but ever since they gave him the wrong medicine last week he has been acting stranger and stranger. Can you believe the clinical psy. they took him to today wanted them to take him to a mental hospital in Nashville AND LEAVE HIM??? I about freaked out when my daughter told me that. He isn't bad...he says he has heard voices twice and says it sounds like whispering in his head but he can't tell what they are saying. My daughter was ready to take him to the psy hospital but she was aiming to stay with him. When they said she couldn't she said well he's not going then. The stupid Dr. said she had put him in a difficult position because Ross could hurt a child at school and she said she'd keep him home from school if she had to but he wasn't going to a hospital alone! So...he may be hanging out with Meme for a while until they can figure out what is wrong with him! I had Kaylyn yesterday (4 yr. old) because her babysitter is sick...and I'll have Jenna (2 yr. old) while they take her brother to the Dr. in Nashville...and I'm not supposed to be using my left arm! I guess you do what you have to do. I'm just hungry all the time! Even when I'm not hungry...I'm still hungry! Some people walk the floor, some bite their nails...I eat! Too bad I couldn't react to stress by cleaning or belly dancing or doing something physical!

Default Hi

Meme - you would have benifited from my last ww meeting. It was names ' is it what your eating or is it what is eating you'. We talked about this very thing. Like you, I eat if I am stressed - thank goodness I don't have LOTS of stress in my life. One of the women at the meeting had such a good point:

When you feel you want to eat are you hungry, tired, sad, stressed, thirsty, lonely etc. You need to feed each of these things. If you KNOW you are not, or cannot possibly, be hungry, look elsewhere. One lady said everytime she thought she was hungry and she knew she shouldn't be, she drank water. People confuse hunger and thirst. If you are NOT a water drinker perhaps you need more. I do know that you have my sympathy through all that you are going through. It just doesn't seem fair. That poor child has had enough. You would think they could assess him without putting him into a hospital. That would be so tramatic for him that I can't see it doing much good.

I don't know if the ww meals will help you out at all. We are unable to get them in Canada any longer. I used to love the Lasagna and the Turkey dinner. I don't know why they stopped them. I can get the bread and the desserts I guess.

Mima - you sound like you are having a great time. Enjoy it! Too bad Brad has to return, as you will probably just wish the time would go faster before you go back home as well. Still wedding bells for May?

Ally - I hope the stress in your life has settled down. You and Meme make me dizzy with all the stuff that goes on

Candice - Is all cool whip frozen? I have never used the stuff before! My daughter made this dessert. I guess you would just fold it into the pudding and freeze it. Then top with more. I thought there was some that wasn't frozen.

Joanne - I hope things are going well for you! Are you following the Olympics at all?

Well all my American friends, I hope Canada takes the Gold in Hockey. They will end up playing either Russia or the USA depending on who wins tonight. Should be a really good game.

Now, here is a website my daughter sent me yesterday. It has some ww 1 point snacks and stuff on it. Go surf it for a few minutes.

http://www.***************.net/

and another excellent site is this one (gives all the points for measurements etc.)

http://www.dwlz.com/sitemap.html
